I'm really hoping I missed it, but are you able to swap TOAU rings? I want to toss my Ulthamawhatthefuckever ring for J. Ring, but I don't want to straight up toss it without knowing I can replace.

As of right now you can't swap ToAU rings. Hopefully they'll switch it eventually, but as for now you're stuck.
Can NIN tank Alexander? If so; what gear set?
yes, and full damage down set. First time we did it was with a nin/war. We won, but was messy. Willing to bet /drk would rock, for those nasty lil cure moves.
NIN/DRK tanking out of melee range with a good physical reduction set would be absolutely fine.
Alright, thank you.
Is Hydra Haubert's refresh like the spell - in other words, how much mp a tic is it?
Trying to get a Yovra organ and wondering about possible methods of duoing one without a BLM or SCH.
Wulfgang - BRD/WAR/DRK/RNG + 70 THF
Character #2 - RDM
I am actually tempted to try BRD + RDM as my DD BRD gear is pretty decent (Joyeuse, Love Torque, Haidate, SH +1, Evis / Mordant Rime, etc.) but I am wondering if this would end up just being a battle of attrition due to the regen. I had thought about WAR + RDM but I think it would be difficult without Elegy.
Is the Joyeuse and Love Torque a typo? I'd assume so since you listed Dagger Weapon Skills also. I have Mordant Rime and am interested in making a melee build for it after I get Love Torque. Do you think Bard should equip all-out Accuracy, or try to get 25% Haste and some Accuracy on top of it?
I'd assume he is going to go BRD/NIN and go dagger/joyeuse.
Joyeuse offhand as most pointed out; I am also boxing both characters which I neglected to mention. TP given would also be an issue, may just wait until THF is 75 and do RDM + THF with the added bonus of TH. I could easily get 4+ LS BLMs to nuke the shit out of it, and I did so last night with a BLM + SCH, but the Gorget isn't a huge priority and I've been bored as of late.
I once tried to see if it was possible to solo Yovras as RDM/NIN meleeing with blau+joy, enspells and sushi but the regen is just to strong (estimated at 50hp/tick), so I don't think it would work.
If your DRK is good, DRK/NIN + RDM should be fine. I trio'd some Om's once with DRK + RDM + BLM and it was overkill.
Oh I forgot you would be tanking in that situation, and thus would be subbing Ninja. To add to my Mordant Rime question, would Blau Dolch be the best dagger to use, ignoring Mandau?
Yes, but buying a Blau for BRD only is silly as you can get by fine with some other choices; I used BK +1 until I started leveling THF.Originally Posted by Ultimagi
As is the typical BG answer, it depends, but with BRD's B- dagger skill capping at 240 @75 and C- sword skill capping at 220, you definitely need some legitimate accuracy gear if you're meleeing anything....legitimate. I use the following TP/WS and critiques will not be accepted! It's just a mish-mash of gear from other jobs:Originally Posted by Ultimagi

Turban / O-Hat
P-Charm (DW) + Love Torque (No DW) / Aqua Gorget (MR) or Love Torque (Evis, don't have Gorget)
Pixie / Pixie or Triumph
Brutal
SH +1 / Osode or SH +1
Dusk Gloves / Alky
Rajas / Rajas
Woodsman / Woodsman
Amemet +1 / Amemet +1
Swift Belt / Life Belt
Haidate / Haidate
Dusk Leds / Dusk Leds
On anything "real," meleeing is useless in my opinon because you give it unnecessary TP for so-so damage and you lose access to elemental staves unless you are willing to lose TP each swap. However, BRD is a fairly resilient soloer, at least compared to most of my other jobs.
Cool, I've heard some epic rumours about Mordant Rime damage potential.
I don't know if you got the answer you wanted, but the easiest way I've found to get Yvora organs is to use the wall of justice technique. Of course (at least I think) you run the risk of getting a flag on your account, but I've used this way tons of times and nothing has ever happened. It's the easiest way to do it if you only need one. This is of course with the Om'Yvora and not the Ul', I have no experience with the latter.
Blau Dolch
Healer's Shield
Angel Lyre
Walahra Turban
Minuet Earring
Diabolos's Earring
Avalon Breastplate
Dusk Gloves
Rajas Ring
Toreador's Ring
Cuchulain's Mantle
Velocious Belt
Byakko's Haidate
Dusk Ledelsens
Does this set have enough accuracy for a Bard to build TP in an endgame situation, not against uber strong bosses? It would seem best to me to keep sub White Mage and still be able to play an active support role, and giving the opportunity to use the Healer's Shield instead of Elegant Shield. Obviously for Mordant Rime, the Haste would be swapped for Strength and whatnot.
