I find the damage potential to be similar with Evisceration typically being better assuming you land all five hits; the nice thing about MR is that it does decent damage whilst only being a two-fold WS.

I don't know if you got the answer you wanted, but the easiest way I've found to get Yvora organs is to use the wall of justice technique. Of course (at least I think) you run the risk of getting a flag on your account, but I've used this way tons of times and nothing has ever happened. It's the easiest way to do it if you only need one. This is of course with the Om'Yvora and not the Ul', I have no experience with the latter.
I presume you mean the Ul'yovra not the Om if you're at Justice wall; I've only killed Yovras a handful of times but I was under the impression that Om'yovras spawned at the teleport areas of sea.

And can someone explain to me how the Justice wall works really. My understanding is that someone stands in the interior while someone stands at the exterior portion of the thin wall enabling the interior person to still cast on the mob. Say the mob is dragged to the exterior portion, won't it begin running around the wall once the person on the interior pulls hate? Or is it so glitched that the thing just hangs out on the other side unable to attack the target with hate?

And has anyone actually been flagged since the group that defeated AV with it had some issues with a GM?

    No I mean Om'.

I'm at work so I can't show you a map, but what you do is have someone go to K-10 on the map where you zone in from Tavy and stand at the spot that's closest to the where it connects with with Mea zone of sea. Make sure this person is a sleeper and can cast very quick spells; BRD works perfectly here but it HAS to stay slept long enough for the other person to get back to the Aural updraft. The other person will teleport mea and zone in from there.

Once zoned in from Mea you will head south towards where your 2box or partner is standing. I highly recommend powder boots and/or just shadows and a spell that can give you some distance on the Yvora. When you find one close aggro it, and run down towards your partner and stand as snug against the wall as you can while your partner/2box sleeps the Yvora. If you have a third person this is where it gets easy. The third person is generally the one who grabbed the UFO and can either die or log out. If you only have two what you will need to do is make sure it stays slept while the other person runs back to the updraft, warps back to the south portion, and meets back up with you. At this point the BRDs only purpose is to spam short, fast recasting songs. I generally use Elegy > Lullaby > Etudes. If the Yvora goes unclaimed for too long (and I mean 3-4sec max) it will go back up and all progress is lost. The RDMs job will be to keep all DoTs on and spam blizzard.

With 2BLM cycling this process takes about 20min, but this is generally because the BLM have no refresh besides the base Ballad I give them. As long as you can keep MP and damage up, this shouldn't be hard, but it will be somewhat long.

FWIW I've done this method upwards of 20 or so times, with people running by and never been jailed/flagged. Of course that doesn't mean anything, but the threat doesn't seem to be very imminent unless maybe you're pissing people off by holding/have pissed people off who have a vendetta.

    *Edit*
For anyone else familiar with this, is it possible to do Jailers like Justice, Hope, etc using this method too? I'm unsure if they can cast over the "walls", but I only have two other people interested in sea with me so I figured it could be worth a shot if it's possible; just a lot higher risk of the banstick.

Haha that's awesome; no map needed, good explanation. So to be clear, let's use my example + 2 BLM friends:

    1) Wulfgang on BRD stays at the main area side of K-10 with the 2 BLMs
    2) RDM goes to Mea, pulls Om'Yovra to other side of wall at K-10
    3) Wulf continually spams Threnody, Elegy, etc while RDM Sleep IIs the Yovra and logs out
    4) BLMs go to town on Yovra behind the wall
    5) Profit

Question: After the RDM logs out and the BRD/BLM/BLM begin damaging, what exactly does the Yovra do while not asleep? Just stand there? Basically wondering if I need to keep it asleep on BRD between nukes or if the random song spam is sufficient.

That's correct, but like I said BLM run out of MP quickly so what you want is your BLM alternating their nukes; one up and one down. The RDM doesn't have to be the sleeper, but yes that's the idea, we generally had the BLM to do it to actually verify they were both in range or needed to readjust.

No it does not need to be re slept, but Lullaby is very quick and in my macro palette so I just used that to keep it claimed. Basically what happens is that Yvora virtually has no target because you and it are in different "zones" persay. The only thing it will every do is do the Boost move from acquiring TP. Be forewarned that if you log your RDM back in you could get seriously fucked if you log in during one the time it pops white between spells because you are automatically aggroed since it can't target the nukers.

In about 3hrs of farming when I first got sea, a friend and I aquired 6 Yvora organs and 36 Phaubo organs (using sharks on the same side as the Yvora)

I'd be willing to bet it's 1mp/tick, just because SE are twats. I have Hydra Doublet, but I'll probably never use a charge because partially-charged items look like shit (Trooper's Ring same deal).

Looking for general info on soloing Heraldic Imp's as BLU with what spells to set/combos to go for/anything else.

Youtube'd/searched, cant find anything specific. It's probably simple, but I always over analyze things.

I don't remember the exact problem for Jailers but I don't believe this works anymore. Like Prudence will just disappear, and the other two if they can't path to you can actually draw you in or something. Like I said, I don't remember exactly what the problem was just that I heard you can't do it anymore.

Just to reemphasize the warning though, this will get you GM'ed if you get caught. If you already have warnings on your account I would avoid it.

As an alternative: the Om's are really easy if you have 2-3 melee/tank, a RDM and two BLM. A skillchain with magic bursts easily take off a third of it's health. I know it is more people you would have to get organs for, but you can kill them much faster than dealing with pulling the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Om to the WoJ, and don't run any risks of getting a GM call.

Been a while since I've solo'd Imps but it's really nothing to worry about.

    Head Butt
    Disseverment
    Frenetic Rip
    Hysteric Barrage
Actinic Burst + Plasma Charge (Auto-Refresh)
Zephyr Mantle + Chaotic Eye (Conserve MP)
    Refueling
    Magic Fruit
Metallic Body (mainly for resting while DoT'd with stupid crap like poison... obviously could equip Exuviation for things like Shock, but it's easier to fit in Metallic Body)
    Cocoon
Clear Mind if you've got room, or +STR spells if you'd prefer

I just Head Butt after every spell and the Imp typically dies after a round of the "Big 3," sometimes another Disseverment is needed. Of course you'll occasionally get the imps controlled by a GM, the ones that PoisongaII right after your :Ni and manage to evade that one Head Butt during ThundagaII, but generally they don't pose much of a threat.

Other suggestions would be to keep Sheep Song on if you're lazy like me and prone to the occasional aggro. Also, I grew to love Magic Hammer with a MND build. I aimed to cast Magic Hammer at 2-3% HP so I could switch to Apollo's Staff and kill the imp with it. It actually gives quite a nice MP return. A friend liked to start off with Sprout Smack for an easy, low-cost slow (I was too lazy for this, but it makes sense). Bludgeon is still decent damage for MP spent on them due to their (lack of) defense. Can also use Frypan or Temporal Shift if you'd like more of a safety net, although I just used Actinic Burst.

Sorry, that was pretty ramble-tastic. Hopefully that gives you a good start.

I wouldn't bother with Cocoon. Blastbomb wasn't mentioned though, and that can save you in a pinch. Magic Hammer can be good at the start as well, best to walk up behind imps and cast it to start fights, but be aware of your distance, imps have a short true-sound agro range. And Bludgeon is great for finishing imps off without without spending 61+ MP to do it.

Oh, and first time I've seen someone else post the theory that GMs control mobs sometimes, I've said that myself before.

New question, also BLU related but too random to become part of the overbloated BLU thread in advanced:

What is the difference in model between AF and relic head? My character blinks out when I switch but I really don't see much difference at all. Can someone with a model view post them side by side?

    For enmity gear in macros;

Do you guys have one macro that equips your enmity gear, then use a job ability and switch back to your regular/idle gear, or do you macro your enmity gear into each JA macro? Is one method preferred over another?

Easy and safe setup for yorva farming (if you're not going to manaburn it) is brd melee/nin rdm. Anything else like a blm is just gravy.

When we need yorva's, we go farm the Om's (for 100% drop rate) with brd nin rdm blm. Blm just speeds up the fight a little. Just have someone share barrage dmg and have your rdm on the ball with a cure after it and you almost can't lose.

With brd singing mambo/march it's easy to ni>ni tank the Om and keeping plenty of dot. Recommend sushi though, as these are highly evasive and it really drags the fight out if you have poor accuracy.

I've farmed several Om'yovra with MNK/NIN + RDM + BRD, and it took quite long enough. The MNK claimed that she had tried on NIN before, and just couldn't damage it quickly enough to overcome the regen. Requiem lands without too much trouble, which helps (if it charmed, we'd just Horde Lullaby the MNK and grav/bind the yovra until charm wore). The last 2 I killed, we also had a BLM, which sped it up a lot. Putting more melee on it just seems to make it harder.

Edit: Oh, and I used Minuet + March, and that was just fine.

I've done it with mnk rdm brd and its quiteeasy. I went madrigal/march with coeurl sub , but would now do min/march with pizza now that thats out. Fight usually lasts no more than 15 mins.

Does the macro save function on the char select screen still just save to your computer or does it save to the server now? I thought there had been a patch but I might have dreamed it.

I did sam/nin in place of mnk/nin number of times, worked fine just using shadows and only seigan third eye in emergency, I would assume war, drk, or drg could probably also pull it off, assuming you have enough haste gear.

    About enmity gear...
My preference would be to have each macro swap you into your enmity set, but not swap you out again -- have a manual button to switch you to haste or shield setup. This way you're certain you have your enmity gear for all of your spells/jas, but you won't flash needlessly or have your macros interfere with each other, winding up using an ability in the wrong gearset. You'll still be idling in your haste setup (or whatever else for other situations), but you'll have more direct control over when exactly you swap back to it. If you want to toss out a spell or ability without gearswapping, you can use the menu -- try to keep your cursor prepped on the spells and JAs you might be inclined to use without gearswaps.
