Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems that there is no good hands/feet armor choices for RDM from 50 until the late 60s.

RDM AF hands and feet totally blow ass, and currently my Elvaan JSE from the late 20s is still better. Do I just ride those pieces until I can get something better in the 60s? I know I've seen many 5/5 AF RDMs in my time, but I'm willing to not be able to store my JSE if it means having armor that doesn't suck more ass than what I am wearing now.

Suggestions? Am I missing some obvious armor choices?


Edit: I am switching to Devotee's Mitts for MND spells, and back to Magna Gauntlets for everything else. I got both pieces of armor in the 20s... :-/

pld sits on warrior's belt+1 for a very very long time as the best tanking belt (obviously if you're kicking out extra damage in xp that's a different story) and don't even get me started on pup. some lvl ranges you just don't get squat. keep your spells, skill levels, and your own skill at the job up and you should be OK.

When people say you've reached the RACC cap, does that mean it's a hard cap where you literally gain nothing from stacking more RACC or agi? Or is it just a very diminished return but you're still gaining some RACC? This question mostly pertains to my barrage macro and if I should keep insane amounts of RACC, or swap some to DMG, thanks.

Your pDif is just used to determine the damage dealt, what does that have to do with a critical hit?
Shield blocks are applied after the damage is calculated.

I mean I see no reason why only an unresisted nuke could crit, and referred to how crits are calculated independently of other parts of the melee formula.

It would be weird if it was resist > no crit, unresist > can crit.

CD, my ultimate conclusion is that trying to figure out how to properly gear RNG is a total pain in the ass, and the conditions change so often that it's guess work at best.

I am used to melee accuracy and comfortable with that. Sidewinder is a punch in the dick...

noone knows and whatever chance it is of being cancelled is outweighed by the fact that brutal improves you more overall anyway.

Devotee's Mitts +1 stay the best MND hands through 75, so that shouldn't be too much of a surprise.

Feet you could look at Mannequin Pumps if you've done that quest. Your RSE feet are better than most other options for a while.

There's not a whole lot in those slots though, no.

I am currently leveling BLM and almost all of my other jobs are melee except WHM, and that really doesn't tell me anything about BLM. I have a good amount of Einherjar points, so I was wondering how good the Omega Ring is for BLM, what are other rings that I should consider (I absolutely will NOT be getting a Tamas Ring, ever) and how to they stack up?

If it matters my next job to 75 will probably be RDM.

Omega Ring is the best Einherjar item you could get for Black Mage. I wear it for Elemental Accuracy, Enfeebling, and Dark Magic. I only use Snow Ring over it if the enemy is not likely to resist my Elemental Magic. Gleeman's Cape is also very good, but less of an improvement over Prism Cape than Omega Ring is over Snow Ring.

omega ring will invariably produce for you the best results on enfeebling magic that does not have its magnitude measured by a stat (eg things like silence and sleep don't make the mob MORE silenced or asleep if your stats are higher) and is useful in many situations against mobs that are resistant to nukes (albeit only very marginally). it may also be effective for dark magic, but honestly, it's so inconsistent i don't know if anyone has put forth any testing i consider to be of sufficient rigor to indicate anything at all.

keep the plentiful r.acc for barrage, since barrage works like "each hit keeps hitting til it misses" u want as much as u can possibly squeeze in there, esp once u upgrade those hands

Assuming I'm WAR/SAM, using Perdu Voulge, what would be the minimum store TP I'd need for a 6 hit build? (I'm really clueless on STP and all that jazz ;x WAR is my first 2 hander job)

Meh, on Odin Ixion Cloak is 4 mil, which is way more pricey than free and I don't camp HNM. I have too many Imperial Wootz Ingots to buy for much better gear before I even considering dropping 4 mil on something with stats that close to a free equivalent.

Also to be clear, I meant my BLM is 49 and is going to be next to 75, then I will probably be leveling RDM to 75 after that.

Get Omegas then. And then Gleemans (If you manage to get a cheap Ixion Cape somehow or w/e, get Aslan for MND potency before Gleemans)~
