Tests were posted here: Cure Cast Time - Detailed Testing (Updated:5/13/08 )
As for my WHM... I'm 5/5 Cure Cast, 5/5 Barspell, 5/5 Devotion, and 5/5 Shellra V. I was going to axe 3 of the Cure cast merits and put it into Regen, however the only action my WHM sees these days is in Salvage, where I don't always have the benefits of Cure Clogs or Light Arts.
KC rng, sam polearm, war polearm can all make use of it (my most recent parties have all had a KC rng)...KC rng alone makes hunter's the correct call though, as it gives racc and acc in 1 song. Also though, a slightly less geared thf/nin/mnk can make use of the acc.
But yea, if no madrigal, I just use GK. Sam polearm really does require madrigal to make it worth using.
It was also discovered that something different happens with curagas. Also I don't use loquacious except for max mp set, I use Novia and Roundel. (and yes I know how to start in a max mp set for buffs etc...and no, I can't easily switch out).
IMO Regen merits are a waste if you do anything more than merit, but that's a whole other argument there. Hardly anything serious that you end up fighting will allow a tank to survive because you merited regen for an extra 5 points per tic. And I have full relic, enough for me on the briault.
As for the rest, Martyr was something I wanted to try out and for Nyzul and a few other situations I have found it's useful but it's not a game breaker. Protectra I kinda agree with but it's useful when working with other mages who have it.
Cure cast speed is not tiered, only the animation. When the targets hp server side is actually increased is not tiered. Continued cure cast merits, even though the animation does not change, will increase the speed at which the target receives hp. However sadly it looks like the recast start time is/might-be tiered with the animation so you *may* not be increasing the amount of cures you can cast over time. Needs more testing.
This is only if you have a cor that actually shoots and it's no waste when they are pumping out 1500 slugshots. I really don't see how you have 94% acc on SAM with 240 polearm skill unless you have gods polearm of acc.
If the Cor doesn't wanna DD Chaos, Cors, Mad, March. We can't be gimp when we clear every bird + do wirve or mamool when we run out of mobs. Don't knock it til you try it with a GOOD cor.
Positive it wasn't 2hr, it was Flaming Crush. We were doing it with PLD, DNC and RDM. Bar and Shell4 were both up and t still hit me for over 1700 on PLD with all that up. I checked the wiki Blood Pact specific page, but it didn't have the range on there that I saw. Is there a separate page with the distances for BPs? The cast time on it appeared to he between 5-7 sec which is why I thought it may be out runnable.
70 BP's have always gone through shadows. As for out running them, I dunno. A players 70's are 16' range. But then, our AF aoe is only 10'...so yeah.
70 bps do not have a 16' range, it's 8'
Uh, no, I can use 70 bp from the same range as Engage
Can you restart the assaults for a mythic weapon before you start the upgrading process?
Also once you restart your assault progress, do you still keep the ability to enter into any assault and get free runic passes?
And then I can counter with barspell merits being a waste if you don't do Ouryu/Tiamat/Bahamut/whatever else. Personally, I didn't touch barspell merits, and I have never once regretted that.
Regen is nice for Salvage, Nyzul, Einherjar, Dynamis, really any healing you're doing that isn't only on a tank. Also, having full merits in it and just using a Regen1 to top yourself off is insanely efficient.
never been a fan of regen because of the cast time. Maybe if i had marduk body it would be different. Remember how rdm sucked when you had to cast refresh with no fastcast gear? That's what regen feels like to me :/
Regen1 is 275hp for 15mp.
Cure2 is 100hp for 24mp.
Cure3 is 200hp for 46mp.
The cast time on regen sucks, for sure, but it's insanely good to cure people that aren't in an immediate threat of dying, and really, it will heal more for less cast time than cure3s if you use regen2 or 3. If all you do is spam cure4/5, then regen can't compete for HP/sec.
