Is Weapon Rank (for fstr purposes) for the under 100% TP weapons, Blau, Maneater, etc.--is it determined by the over 100% base damage or the under 100% tp base damage?

It's the under 100% TP latent as far as I know, eg on Blau Dolch it's floor(26/9) rather than floor(33/9).
under 100%
dammit!

What do you think the chances are that a Warrior/Dancer could down Alkyoneus? >_>
How strong is the defense down effect from a spirit surged jump?
Royale Ramble Question:
Do the mobs get more powerful as they are defeated?
Aside from the one @ Uggy Pendant spawn point, where in Pso'Xja do the Cryptonberry Stalkers hang out?
I seem to remember where you farm the mimic chips for CCB polymers, fake walls/weird camera. Where you need the blue and green bracelets for the doors.Aside from the one @ Uggy Pendant spawn point, where in Pso'Xja do the Cryptonberry Stalkers hang out?
Had this discussion here a while back, I still haven't seen any proof of this. Only the king gets more powerful, and it seems more time (or 2hr) based than spell based. Every time we have ever done it, we've had a mage pull him, with magic, and used debuffs on him, and done fine. We also tried with no magic at all, and he still raged or w/e.
I've never cast a lot on them but I always pull the king with stone and then some sort of DoT to get hate on the Queens and never really noticed them being 'raged'. When the king is dead and I'm finished kiting the queens I throw a few enfeebles on and don't notice much change.
whats the best merit progression for someone looking to full time NIN? I plan to also have THF to 75 if that makes a difference...so i guess like someone who plans to be 75%NIN and 25% THF
Specific to NIN, you'll probably want Katana merits, and if you'll be low manning/soloing, Subtle Blow merits perhaps.
Ninja Tool Expertise is nice, but not must-have...given that you'll spend tools getting the merits, and it'll take a long time of saving random tools to make that back. IMO, nice to have when tools are running low or for more expensive tools, but it's certainly up for debate.
Other stuff, meh. Mostly the reason to merit effects or San spells is to say you have full merits. Can find uses for them though, for example, I have Raiton San and Raiton Effect so that I can do Earth element down for Hojo, and use it on physically strong targets. Not that great, but it's something.
Sange can also be a neat toy.
Neither of those would be high priority though.
In general, you'd probably want STR, Crit%, HP, etc. Ninjitsu possibly as well, but if you ever think you may do mage jobs probably just leave that category alone. Could consider Evasion and Parry merits too, but I'm not sure you'd see much of an increase from them versus having weapons for THF or other melees leveled.
With the jobs you mentioned, Enmity up would also probably be good.
@Ramble KS30
Something makes the mobs power up, nobody is really sure what it is but it does seem to coincide with casting enfeebles, so I think for the most part people avoid it just to be safe. I will say that in a few dozen runs after we stopped using any enfeebles (including elegy) they've never powered up, but that doesn't prove anything.
Also, it's either not from all magic, or it's just not 100% (or both) though, since I did a manaburn try once and was able to win without them powering up (although it wasn't really any easier than a standard setup, so I recommend just 3 melee, a brd, a healer, and someone to kite).
Exactly the info i was looking for...thanks a bunch for the info! So far I've unlocked Nin Tool Exp, have two katana, two eva, two crits...eva is b/c i do like soloing and tanking in small groups mainly...should there be a specific priorty? I was thinking 8/8 katana > Evasion > Crits > Enmity > Nin Tool exp > (maybe some San Spells?) > DEX (im elf) > Ninjutsu > HP?
I really only do meripo on COR for the fact that I dont need to LFG for any amount of time, but im also not that hardcore at meripo and usually get worn down after 20k LPs...and then take a break...so what would be the priorities? I think i got them listed right above, although im tempted to do Enmity > Crits b/c i cant stand losing hate so easily sometimes.
I know this is also kinda random, but Im tempted to really play around w/ NIN/DRK, but havent found much information on it...so not exactly sure how it works, how to gear it, how to play it...I tried searching the forums but came up empty
