Possibly outdated on gear slightly now but gives you a good idea.

botted it for 2 weeks, always popped between 18-30 for me, be sure to have a second character or check for leech king regularly
IMO, finish out Crits first. They'll help you on NIN, and also on any other job you melee on.Exactly the info i was looking for...thanks a bunch for the info! So far I've unlocked Nin Tool Exp, have two katana, two eva, two crits...eva is b/c i do like soloing and tanking in small groups mainly...should there be a specific priorty? I was thinking 8/8 katana > Evasion > Crits > Enmity > Nin Tool exp > (maybe some San Spells?) > DEX (im elf) > Ninjutsu > HP?
I really only do meripo on COR for the fact that I dont need to LFG for any amount of time, but im also not that hardcore at meripo and usually get worn down after 20k LPs...and then take a break...so what would be the priorities? I think i got them listed right above, although im tempted to do Enmity > Crits b/c i cant stand losing hate so easily sometimes.
Katana would be good second, as combat merits are relatively cheap. They also help in that NIN is generally starved for ACC. Merits help offset the loss of accuracy compared to a Haub when using your AF/AF+1 body for the DW.
If you want to do evasion, do them as well.
Generally speaking, your enmity stems from your damage. If you're lacking there, a slight bit more enmity isn't going to spin the mob your way. The better DD you are in those circumstances, the better you'll hold hate. Crit/Katana help you do better damage, and so in a sense, are hate tools as well.
I would also consider Subtle Blow in there. It's reasonably pointless for merits or something, but further reducing mob TP gain when soloing or something can be beneficial.
Save San spells/elemental effects for last. HP, stat, etc are probably more useful. You can always carry elemental tools if you want the -element effect alone, as it's the same regardless of tier. I just like getting more damage if I'm gonna cast it =P
DEX is generally not recommended to merit. Its more situationally beneficial than STR is.
I'd probably do Ninjitsu (if you decide to do it) before San spells as well, since you'll benefit from that with enfeebles too.
Would I be able to dispel the NPCs in Lamia assault as NIN/RDM?
Er, let me rephrase it. Is there a good way to dispel them without having to be brd or rdm main? Also, would the Fenrir dispel work on them? Basically I'm looking to go with a couple friends DRK/xxx (could do RDM), SMN/WHM, and NIN/xxx (rdm is 12, BRD is 28, SMN is 15) and I want to know if it's possible from subs or with that fenrir dispel.
I've never been resisted against them, but I have heard of others saying they have. I think they just don't have their chat filters set right and actually dispelled something other than Charm though.
Should be fine from subjob. I've done RDM/BRD and BRD/RDM without issue using Dispel and Finale.
I stated that i dont really merit on NIN at all b/c i have COR and that is SO MUCH easier to get invites on...I really LOVE Ninja Tool Expert, but not sure if i would/should max it out.
im also interested in the :San lvl spells, b/c our ninjutsu is just unique and fun...can you even unlock all the spells?
When I was thinking about NIN/DRK i was also thinking it in application besides specialized HNM tanking...like, is it good to merit w/ as well? 2 Attack traits right? I know you're not gonna be spell spamming LOLibri to get hate...but at a quick glance it looks like a good option for meripo as well...any thoughts?
Oh yeah, also, should full usukune be a goal for my NIN? One, I love the look of the whole piece...which, for me anyways, is really important lol...two, the stats seem pretty insane
Sorry I've turned this into my own personal NIN question thread, but I just recently came back from the game...well a few months, and i got COR to 75 and was working on SCH, but i decided to come back to my first love...NIN...and i was an OLD SCHOOL NIN...full evasion set and evasion tanking what not...so im trying to get some insight on how to play it now...
I've seen brd/rdms land dispel fine.
I've also seen the 3 npcs get uncharmed once and then a smn stick fenrir on the lamia and her charm moves will never hit the 3 npcs again. Once fenrir dies, she runs for the smn (who has run a good distance away to recast fenrir) and then the smn times it so they take no/a couple of hits to stoneskin before fenrir grabs hate back.
What's the average amount of singles you can get from a full clear dynamis-bastok?
Is there a certain amount of levels over yours that makes the mob a different /check difficulty? For example same level = even match, 2 levels above = tough, 4 levels = VT, 5+ = IT?
What would a script to skill up Enhancing Magic look like?
This:
Experience Points - FFXIclopedia - a Wikia Gaming wiki
is almost what you want. It doesn't give the levels, but you can see how much exp you'll get. Somepage has a nice big chart that has it labeled with the /check levels, and values for parties from 1-6, in their links section. Whenever I want to look that up, I go over to my girlfriend's Mac >.> You do have to keep in mind that parties of between 2-5 people get different exp % bonuses (which I believe do not exceed the 200/250/300 exp cap for the respective level ranges), and those are not shown. I would also assume that somepage's charts have outdated values for EM-DC mobs.
Yes, you can put 1 merit into each and still have 4 leftover. They're not really worth it though in my opinion. I unlocked Suiton and Huton and the damage increase isn't that much more than Ni and the cast time is longer. They might be better with more than 1 merit but I'd rather spam the Ni line.
I don't think it's worth it for merits. Sure you get the attack bonus but you're giving up alot from not subbing War. Berserk, Warcry and Double Attack just aren't worth losing in a merit party.
Definately the feet for sure. As for the rest of the set I'm not sure. I'd assume the full set would be decent, but a mixture would probably be optimal.
Evasion is pretty much just for soloing now. There's actually some pretty interesting Nin solo threads on the forum. I think Belkin might be one of the ones who posted info on it. For tanking its pretty much generating hate as fast as you can and maintaining it. Haste and Enmity gear are pretty much the priority with Evasion not being very important.
What's the skillup cap for normal campaign mobs?
Edit: 2nd Question - Anyone know if an Armor/Shield Break that hits for 0 damage still gets the added effects?
Around 140 for campaign mobs I think?
