Which advanced job quests, involving some sort of fight, would be soloable for a 37WAR? I've only ever done them with help, or was like 60+ and slaughtered it, so I am curious which could be done at that level.

DRK - fighting really weak mobs with Chaosbringer
SMN - have to fight a leech somewhere along the line for the Ruby

PLD - if you decide to fight the Spook for "A Squire's Test" I suppose, otherwise this is all sneaking, which on WAR might be a problem
BST - if you fight the Kraken you'll die, but there's a Goblin Bounty Hunter by the flowers, otherwise more sneaking
RNG - there are some LV28-32 tigers around, otherwise you don't have to fight anything

I haven't really had much experience with Corsair, but what I've heard about it makes it a lucrative job for endgame and merits. What subjobs are generally used for those situations?

I'm reading over the DynamisBums strat for valkurm. Is it correct in saying Christelle does not aggro?

We made an attempt before but didn't know about the extra stuff that pops when you engage so mages went down quick to the 2 manticores that popped, knowing we can run in to position safely beforehand and not aggro christelle make me pretty sure we would win.

It doesn't aggro. Did dyna-valk yesterday and we all ran past it without aggro.

Merits: WAR/RNG/NIN/DNC/WHM(no one start shit with me about this one please, I never subbed WHM in merits but someone's gonna say it's okay in certain situations :b)

End-game: Depending on what you're doing, potentially all of the above plus RDM and BLM in situations when you'll be quick drawing only (both jobs have MAB traits) and have no need for being able to cure status effects or cure at all, respectively.

When you're leveling /rng or /nin is best, though I greatly prefer /rng. Yes there are some places where /whm is ok (I did it in sacrarium for example to sneak myself and help cure). Dunno about /war, suppose it could be used in the same capacity as rng uses it, to spam bullet DoT on a NM, but I haven't gotten that far yet. ^^;

/nin is garbage, /war for DD or /whm for being a pseudo-brd

until you engage it, it will not aggro. once it has been fought, if you wipe to it, it will aggro you and tentacle rape you horribly.

/nin is horrible unless you are pulling. Something that isn't necessarily a bad thing while working your way to 75. I know I did this a lot in east ronfaure [S] ls pt's and while syncing down to 55 or 62 birds. So, although clearly not a merit sub, w/e while lvling imo. I would refuse to do it in merit pt.

/war is awesome for cor if you can support it and by far the best dd sub. /rng is good too and allows for lesser gear. Right now my newly minted gimp 75 cor/rng can pull about 12-13% in merit pt dmg using m.kris and using slug shot. I would imagine a well equipped cor/war could pull 20%. And bonus: it's fun to play that way.

I don't use cor for events much, obviously that's a different situation. For things you aren't going to be meleeing/shooting tp, your sub choices change to "what's most needed to support the alliance?" I'd think /whm would win out most of the time there, or /nin if you need some dmg mitigation.

Ummm anyone know if it's possible to meleeburn KS99 wyrm? (or any other KS99) Which really just means, is it possible to stun it so it doesn't fly.

Its going to fly the second that the stun wears off i think. Maybe if you had a shit load of rngs though...

What about CS stunning. Probably not the best of strategies, >.> LS just lacks a form of ranged damage.

Just to add, Stun doesn't overwrite itself, therefore CS stun won't keep it on the ground.

Melee do good damage to it. I suppose the same goes for RNG, though I don't have experience with it. So the closest thing is a melee burn with RNGs mixed, I guess. Then again, it'll be either a deathfest or you're naive enough to expect people to not be lazy and buy fire kits.

on the topic of wyrm, otherwiki lists the desired fire resist at around 220. is this accurate? seems kinda low to me, but i've never done this with people using fire sets so i really have no idea.

I did "/?" earlier to look through the various commands, and one caught my eye, "/bell". I tried typing "/? bell" to see what the description was, but it didn't say anything, and when I tried using it nothing notable happened. Any idea what this does?

Thanks for asking lol The thing that's odd is I've done that before years ago (done "/?" and looked at all the unfamiliar commands to see what they do), and I don't recall seeing it. But maybe I just overlooked it, or maybe that GM was just guessing haha

it was handy to temp logout like that when i was xp'ing on bst and had to logout to avoid dying. could just come right back in quickly. it was also a nice 'pause'. sort of.
