I'm starting a second character to dualbox. My main has 75rdm/sam/bst.
My question is: what would be the better job for the second char. Nin or Mnk? Only plan on using it for duoing BC/ENMs, missions and minor NMs.

id say mnk wins if you wana do KSNM not sure about BC and Enm tho, most ppl do SIAC with rdm and sam, maybe mnk might work. add dnc and nin sub (might aswell get ninja to 40 for Under observation) this is my 2 cents.
gearmod does the same thing, i don't think anyone still updates wardrobe.. you can find offsets with artmoney but you need at least a basic understanding of how they work to use it properly
0 gil, sub whm and skill up later or astralburnRough cost of bullets for COR to 72? Someone recently told me it'll run in the several millions... which just seemed wrong. I didn't get to follow up his response.
designing an XML is almost like writing in a very basic programming language, there's definitely a learning curve but it's well worth doing for any mage jobHow user friendly is SpellCast vs making your own macros with Windower? My only two jobs currently at 75 are MNK and WHM, so I'm not sure if it's worth using for me...
How do I add someone to my friends list from another server?
In the POL viewer there's a search function that allows you to search for people across all servers, you can send them friend invites from there.
^this, my girl plays 75 whm, and i not stuck in her pt = my death thanks to the healers sucking (and the constant gear change med ws and tp)
although any good healer will help, id only recommend def gear for solo or if you know your gonna get hit hard w/o a shadow/TE/stoneskin w/e alternative defencive buff, or work defensive gear into your DD gear (EX: iota ring)
Anyone know of a good accuracy calculator?
What's so bad about /Thf and Sobo post-Yuki? I've mainly been syncing on Colibri and Ninja's are basically impossible to xp with as they can't keep hate worth shit. I usually plant TA-Yuki/Gekko on them and then SA the mob once I get TP..which obviously doesn't take long.
I've tried /War and got my teeth kicked in, found SE+TE way too random and had to hold onto TP.
Note: My polearm skill is gimp as dick, just in a rush to ding into Hagun.
So regarding the spell cast, what can it do for say a MNK... I'll start with that... looking at some of the XML files, the idea seems to be "if WS=Asuran Fists, then equip a Life Belt", which is easily handled with windower macros...
What are the limits? What can I set as a condition?
If I can tell Spell Cast to force equip Thunder and Fire Rings on the appropriate days, that seems like a pretty awesome feature...
Theres one in here.
FFXI Calculator
Thanks^^ Just what i wanted.
If your nin is really good about keeping shadows up, then TA+WSing them to help keep hate on them is a good thing. A lot of pickup xp NINs can't cast ichi for shit though, and end up blood-tanking Ni=>Ni. In that situation, a SAM/WAR co-tanking is pretty good.
With PLD tank, SAM/THF sucks. If you pull hate, seigan+te is gonna mitigate about as much damage per 30 secs as shield blocks do so there's no reason to be afraid of pulling hate in that situation.
I used Melee Accuracy Calculator since works well and can acc% for some mobs.
I'm trying to set this up, and have succeeded with a very basic setup for MNK so far - but understanding the finer points is giving me a huge headache this late in the day. Is the "best way" to set this up as follows?
Assume I have two jobs, monk and white mage...
First step is to have two files, MNK.xml and WHM.xml.
Now for MNK.xml, ask myself "what's everything I do on MNK?" - we'll say it's merit, salvage, einherjar and dynamis. What I would do here is make a "group" for each scenario.
Finally, under each group, I add in each situational gear set - Standing, Engaged, Chakra, any simple gear swap like Temple Crown for Focus, etc...
This is all assuming I gear differently for Einherjar, Dynamis and Salvage, which honestly I don't.
Is that looking correct?
Also, by setting a group as "default" does that mean there will be no need to set things like Chakra/Dodge/Focus sets in other groups if they're already setup in the default group?
default just means it loads first, you can have other groups inherit that group to save sets like chakra/etc though - there are countless ways to do your swaps in spellcast, do whichever you're most comfortable with
my first question in ages - I realize mystic boon is incredibly useful in some situations, could anyone recommend a relatively easy to get setup for it or confirm that the mods listed on wiki are accurate?
