100 is the cap, if you try to add anybody after you reach that, it'll just say "Failed to add to blacklist."

If not when and what do i upgrade my foot with?

oh and i'll probably switch to sushi around okotes or ju. gi

    in advance.
The SAMs I've partied with recently in the 40s, weren't use fuma/sarutobi. Most of them had Rare/ex okote, PCC, rajas, etc, and said 3% wasn't that great. Not really helpful, but just throwing it out there.
people need to learn more about haste. 3% is 3% more dot vs. no haste (in this case, naked feet) so you're looking at net gain of around 2% by switching in fumas vs. bounding. (bounding being worth around 1% hit rate, which is a little more than 1% dot).

that said, there's fed. kyahan at level 25 which adds 4 attack - against lvl40~mobs (the stuff you fight at 33) that's going to be about +0.03 cRatio, which depending on how much attack you have would be in the area of 3% dot vs. no shoes. (likewise about 2% vs bounding)
As a curiosity sort of deal, but how big of an improvement would it be with hasso? If I understand haste is that it's increasing returns for each % you get so... would 3% be more than just 3% dot increase?
the dot gain of adding some amount of haste is x / (100 - y) where x is how much haste you just added, and y is the amount of haste you have already (all expressed as a whole number). so in this case, 0.033 is 3.3% dot gain.

the neat thing about haste (as opposed to say, weaponskill accuracy+ on hachiman feet) is that it affects -everything- ws included (gaining tp 3% faster means 3% more weaponskills over time).

obviously this is simplifying on the assumption that you are basically always engaged, if this isn't the case then the dot gains from haste are somewhat more complicated to calculate. (I think it's a fair assumption, given how most pt's even at the 30's range run for the non-puller)

Could a DRG/DRK kill his wyvern using Spirit Link w/ Empathy to give it Souleater? (Weird random thought, sorry.)

Since Souleater does damage based on your current hp, you can't really die just from souleater...

Ah makes sense, thought it was something like that but wasn't exactly sure.

Which one out of the Galliard or RK though? Dusk trousers are a luxury I'm not willing to spend the gil on atm (in the future, for sure, but not now), and my static are still focusing all our efforts on getting Captain rank.

they look pretty close for me but i think galliard would be the better choice between those two, ill let somebody else do the maths on how the 4 dex will affect your crit rate, cant see it being a hugh difference though and if you are eating meat acc+5 is <3

10-20? I generally spend a lot of time in Konstanch highlands, lizards, sheep and bees tend to be pretty easy to kill on most jobs and the xp/h is pretty good.

If you have a bow, worms are good till 14ish, then I usually move to bees and lizards, top off with sheep around 17 I believe. Depends though if you have a PLer or not on how fast you gain xp

At 10-20 you do not want to kill stuff above EM (depending on job of course) mostly because its slower than plowing through EP-DC-EM mobs.

Question: Is spellcast (the plugin) faster than using windower scripts? Obviously I should go and ask about this on windower forums, but yeah >_>

By faster I mean performance due to lag/shitty computer.

I'm looking for a site. It's a site where you plug in your job, race, level, and what you want to gear for and it gives you the best items for that slot?

    Anyone have a link?

    Re: Randomer Question Thread

i didnt think this merited a new thread, so i come to you bg'ers for some clarification regarding magic def. bonus vs. magic dmg -%. im an aspiring rdm tank, and have been blessed with some very above average gear(namely dalmatica, etc). but what im trying to get a grasp on is the difference between magic def. bonus and the magic reduction that coral gear and resentment cape grant.

for what its worth, i did do the search thing and came up with two useful threads:
    http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/viewt...+defense+bonus

    and

    http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/viewt...&hilit=mdb+JoL

i've also read belkin's LJ on the subject, which i found most helpful, especially in matters of emnity.

so here's my question. i know that there is a cap on one of the two, but is their a cap on both, or do they both work towards the cap together? i know i've read that an aegis pld w/ shell5 basically is at the 'cap' of magic reduction, so that would seem to indicate that the magic -% is what caps at 50%. but i also know that MDB, both inherently as a trait of rdm, as well as on my dalm, have let me survive more than one astral flow, unstunned aga3 at puddings, etc.

so without giving essentially a grid of my gear i plan to earn/buy/get outlotted on in dynamis, my basic plan was to use merman's rings x2 and earrings x2(leftovers from mnk and rng), then use the dalm, af2 hands(which i dont have but hope to in the near future), L.K. +1, etc. my conundrum, especially since much of this is geared towards tanking things like JoL where a resentment cape is active 100% of the time, is do i opt for dalm/lamia mantle +1/resolute belt/af2 hands and LK+1, which would give me +13 MDB, and thus a total of +25 w/ the native job trait of rdm, and how does shellraV affect that? mathematically, a maxed shell5 with the aforementioned gear would take me to +50 MDB and -12% MDT. but what i get confused about, and the two linked threads discuss without clarifying for me, is essentially, am i trying to reach -50% MDT and then add MDB or the other way around?

and yes belkin, i too believe in teh terra staff and parrying, but fear not gentle readers, i will be macroing in emnity gear as appropriate for my rotation of hate spells.

oh, one last thing. while i have been remiss in getting my subjobs completed for rdm(i have war, blm, whm, and nin, still need to finish drk and blu, and likely sch), would blu sub be of any use tanking mobs that primarily use magic as their attack? i know cocoon boosts def. but does it have any effect on magic def., or is that what saline coat is for and i should just stick to subbing blu for capping parrying, shield, and the 19 hours i'll be spending at charby? and does /nin and blocking single target spells from mobs like JoL, or meleeing but magic heavy mobs like ouryu outweigh the extra hate and speed with which i'd be able to gain it that /drk would allow me? (i know in practicality, any mob that melees to the extent of a wyrm, esp taking terror into consideration make /nin manditory).

for background after that small essay, i'm elvaan, 8/8 elemental merits, 8/8 enfeebling merits, currently 4/8 MP, planning on going 8/8 MP(my future jobs i plan on leveling are pld and blu, so other than not having to stock 8 merits to finish 10 mp, a split between hp and mp doesn't seem that prudent to me, and the extra mp will benefit my blm presently).

thanks for help and clarifications ^^

    Re: Randomer Question Thread

The rule of thumb you should use is, magic damage taken -% is always better than equal (and even slightly greater) amounts of MDB until the former is capped. The benefits from magic damage taken gets better and better the more you add, while the benefits from MDB get to be less and less the more you add. Magic damage taken caps at 50%, and Shell 5 counts for 25% (little more or little less depending on how far upgraded).

Edit: I find myself answering this question so often, I want to make a graph illustrating it lol So my random question is, is there a free chart-making website I can go to and just input the values or equation I want for my chart and save as a jpeg file or print screen?

    Re: Randomer Question Thread

thanks for the quick reply. means i need a date with that bastard tonberry in the near future ><

my gf is 75 whm who will have maxed shell5, so atm, assuming i can grab a resentment cape, that would put me at -19% MDT w/ coral hands +1, -22% w/ coral legs +1, tho im not wild about giving up my blood cuisses. i suppose i should probably set a 'total reduction set' for incoming spells, as i recall, JoL doesn't have any particularly noteworthy fast cast abilities, right?

also, does /pld have any merit for a fight like JoL? shield bash, an extra tick of mp, flash, def. bonus trait and sentinel all seem like worthwhile hate tools, tho i spose it all depends on who my co-tanks are

I guess maybe from Sentinel hate multiplier, but you wouldn't be close enough to JoL for shield bash, nor would def. bonus help much (I guess for phuabos but it'd be negligible).

Anyway, I just made my chart in MSPaint, so here it is:
