Shadow Gorget or Love Torque for SAM Penta Thrust?
Shadow Gorget or Love Torque for SAM Penta Thrust?
Good, I hate farming Yovra Organs!
5 Dex 7 Skill = 10~11 Acc, 7 Att, 5 Dex towards mods vs 10 Acc, 0.1 fTP on a low fTP ws.
I'd say it's close enough that I wouldn't bother getting shadow just for Penta, but the increase from 0.1 fTP on a low fTP ws is larger relatively than I'd expect 7 Att/5 of a low value secondary mod to be.
That's incorrect.
Penta has a total fTP of 5.0 (if Wiki is right and first hit is 1.0). If you average 1000 damage then .1 fTP adds 20 damage, or 2%.
A Gekko-like hypothetical WS averages 1000 damage too, and has an fTP of 2.0. .1 fTP will add 50 damage, or 5%.
Simply put, a WS that relies less on fTP but more on properties (ignore defense, innate accuracy bonus, high secondary modifiers, critical hit chance, etc.) to do good damage will gain more from a WS gorget.
I think I'd WS in Love Torque for Penta.
Um...first, isn't gorget ftp first hit only?
Second, is 7 Att and 5 Dex going to add 20 Dmg?
If you add .1 to the first hit, it becomes 1.1, and the total fTP becomes 5.1. There's nothing special about the first hit, therefore you can pool it.
Between the ACC, attack and DEX it might just add as much if not more as a WS gorget does.
Acc is the same, doesn't count.
Part of what is fucking with me is having argued for gorget for a crit TP ws, where the first hit getting a bigger boost is pwn, so it's like... NO WAY, IT CAN'T BE BETTER TO USE SOMETHING ELSE, BLARGH!
The Att and Dex might do it, but that's like 10% Dex mod, and 7 Att isn't a huge amount, but it IS applied 5 times I guess.
Regarding the first hit clarification, I meant it isn't adding 0.1 to all the hits, (i.e. 5.5 fTP), you're right about the pooling not mattering unless you're factoring shit like SATA where I at least find it easier to calculate the hits by themselves.
I just got QD on cor so here is my Q: for random QD's focused only on damage not sleeping/dispelling does it matter what card I use? I know I can receive a dmg bonus if I use the card from the day of the week but that seems like a major inventory killer. I figure I'll just carry around light, dark, earth, and ice. So for pure DMG such as soloing are all cards created equal for QD?
Yes, therefore use either day, weather, or mob weakness to your advantage to increase total damage over time. If a mob has a clear weakness use that over day/weather, decreasing resists is your prime goal.
How do the 90buck choco upgrades compare to the 80buck ones for chocobo racing? Are they worth the extra 10 bucks when available?
What jobs can solo Elder Goobbues in Boyahda at a decent pace, with very little or no resting?
this would work if penta thrust didn't have mods applied the first of the ws deals more than rest because of the 20% str/dex mod, meaning dmg of 1k was probably more like first: 300,Rest: 4x 175, thus gorget would add 30 dmg and I don't see dex and 7 attack adding an average of 30 dmg over time since kabobs[+63.75] increase my ws avg by 125 ish ussually so assuming the att from torque increases ws avg at same rate as food it would raise the average dmg ws by 13~15, thus gorget wins.
Snatch Morsel-
Can it miss?
Is it a physical TP move?
I was meriting earlier and after a Slug it turned to me, did that, but then I still had my food up. I also happened to get a parrying skill-up at the same time, so either it did SM and missed and then attacked in quick succession or I parried it.
Any thoughts?
Wolfknight: As far as I know all hits of a weaponskill are affected by secondary weaponskill mods.
Snatch Morsel can miss, and it'd be very interesting to see if parry is the only thing that can block it. It obviously goes through shadows and most likely through evasion too (whenever I solo some seals and buffer on NIN it lands quite often, more than its hitrate is supposed to allow it to).
