Because the first Gekko hit has an fTP of 1.875 and for every WS goes that any hit after the first one has an fTP of 1.0. It'd be roughly a 50% increase, which sounds about right.
Otherwiki claims it can miss, so maybe it was just that. I just remembered that when that happened, I had dmg only on the screen, not in the log, so either it was a parry on another attack or it was actually on Morsel itself.
Reason I even bring it up is I remember seeing something about guarding on multihit ws displaying it as a miss or something and thought this might be kinda along those lines.
How long does light shot sleep last, is it over writable by sleep II?
If you're picking any random card because the mob has no weakness, go with whatever you have an HQ staff of. If you have a Terra staff, use that because while you're kiting, it always helps having -20% damage taken. But also take into consideration weather, day, etc. If there's fire weather on firesday, those ice cards are going to suck balls.
yes, it's the same strength as lullaby, sleep1, etc. I think it lasts around 60s, I never bothered counting.
1.0 fTP.
Mods work on all hits, my calculated damages wouldn't work otherwise.
Also: this is my first post with my new wireless router set up... I'm upstairs idling in the tree as I write this... I know now that I have been living in the dark ages, hauling the modem back and forth... /mantear
Good call on Auster's/wind card. If a mob is completely neutral or only strong to some stuff (and not particularly weak to the rest) and it's lightsday or darksday, use that.
Question about Shen (the reverend mail NM):
Never fought it before, both wikis claim a lot of people are needed to kill. Is it possible to lowman (5-6 people or less) this NM with any setup? I have the option of KC drk zerg with 1drk, lots of people to sleepga the water spirits, couple people who are adept at DDing + tanking at the same time, manaburn, and sch helices plus some other stuff that might work probably.
Anyone do this lowman before?
So... Shadow Torque for SAM Penta Thrust, then? lol
1 kraken drk + one very good DD or merc kris drk with 2x brd 2h can drop it if they're kept alive for 30-45 seconds. Ideally this would be like DRK, DD#2, BRD, BRD, RDM, WHM.. note that a couple of it's moves can one shot and if your DRK dies it's over(not that pop item is a big deal to get anyway).
Looked at the thread with website links and throughout bg-wiki, didn't find exactly what I was looking for.
Is there a site/blog/whatever that has a comprehensive start-to-finish listing of the equations for melee damage? There are bits and pieces all throughout threads here and in quite a few sources, but I'm looking for the whole shebang.
Thanks!
badwiki has it all, albeit not presented very neatly as you have to jump between pages, provided someone hasn't recently editted it for their own needs(earlier today dumbshit in my linkshell was arguing about gekko ftp and just changed it on wiki mid argument to try to 'prove' his point.. didnt even use a different name for the wiki edit either lol).. but barring shit like that it's all there >_>
Raineer,
In terms of 2-handed weapons, RingThree and I are in the month~ish long process of reestablishing the numbers.
For 1-handed weapons, you need the following independent variables :
DMG = DMG listed on Weapon
ATT and STR = Your Attack and STR
PLV = Your level
MLV = Mob's Level (if over 75)
DEF and VIT = Mob's Defense and VIT
Next, the dependent variables:
Base Damage = DMG + fSTRpDIFSpoiler: showSpoiler: show
Every time you attack, the game outputs a pDIF value and the damage you do is equal to (Base Damage x pDIF). If it is a critical hit, it adds 1 to pDIF, and the pDIF cap is raised.
Hand-to-Hand, Ranged, and 2-handed weapons are a bit different.It is not a complicated system, but the pDIF output is a bit of a black box function, and it takes a very long time to test.
Yeah, just take the KClub drk, one or two other well-geared DD, toss in a brd or two and a little healing and zerg away. He goes down pretty quick, got it to ~5% before wiping once with this setup, only reason we failed was our RDM decided to chainspell cure himself instead of DD's ._.
Thanks for the input on NM, think I'll try it. ^^
I was wondering what people are using to enhance the fonts of character names in FFXI. It also makes the arrow over your target look smoother and more rounded. I was just wondering what program people were using to do this and if it was safe to use the program and not get banned?
Thanks!
