Yeah you can verify this using rune axes. With 1mp/tic refresh, it works like this.
tic 1 : +10hp 0mp tic 2 : +0hp +1mp tic 3 : +10hp 0mp ....... etc etc
So the latent is active every other tic. Basically if you have mp, it uses 1-3mp and the latent is in effect until the next tic. If you have no mp at the next tic, the latent effect turns off, which lasts until the next tic. So I'm guessing that would average out ot 4.5% haste with a single tic of refresh.
A drk really could get 3/tic in refresh, but it would kinda suck for zerging. Parade + Ares or JSE body + sanction refresh. So you would have to give up your lvl 50 JSE body. Ideally that way as long as you started out with even a couple mp, you could have the haste effect up at all times.
Despot question:
If Despot's window is up, and if all the placeholders are dead, will Despot spawn automatically?
Heck no.Originally Posted by Stolin
BG History Question:
When did bg forums become THE endgame forum that all servers surf for all their needs? I personally learned about bg when the threads about "Zomg we just killed jailer of love and AV popped!" happened.
I've gotten lots of DCs over the past week as well, and I normally never get them, so I was curious too.Originally Posted by Hellfury

also worth noting that 2 rune axes can feed off just a single MP. order of actions is as follows:
foreach(RuneItem){
if(MP){latent this tick}}
foreach(RuneItem){
MP=max(0,MP-3)}
refresh effect
so with only a single point of refresh, one could activate on alternating ticks; 2 rune axes, a rune bow, a rune arrow, and a pair of rune bangles. granted, i have no clue WHY someone would want to do that, but that doesn't bar it from being entertaining to contemplate.
it really took off between JoL/AV and the Toau stuff (I remember when this was literally the only place doing toau content updates in a timely manner that first week or so) - fight club helped.Originally Posted by Doofus
wotg would've been a big surge too if there had been, well, actual content to talk about.
I found BG when that dude on some server got arrested for kiddie porn, and someone linked me to the thread where teh winnar of life created a taru on his server, then sent him a /tell saying, "An orc just killed me.Would you like to come look at my tiny, lifeless body?" or something to that effect.
...God, I need to find that thread again. >.>
The thing with Rune Chopper, is at lower haste values, it drains 3-9 MP/swing.
I do know a way to keep it going 100% of the time though, Drain Samba II.
DRK/DNC GO!
(note: I know this because as War/Dnc I used my choppah a lot til I got Fort axe, which is just better at the lower haste values you normally encounter while soloing)
I feel really stupid for asking this, but did a quick search was having trouble coming up with good search terms..
When you use a food that gives a % of something. IE: Sole Sushi 15% accuracy. What is the 15% calculated off of? base accuracy? accuracy at the time the food is eaten? (static). Or does it change dynamically with the gear you equip?
I would assume it's calculated after skill/gear/status effects/songs.
this is basically correct. % increases from status effects (including food) are the last step, it doesn't matter which order the % increases are applied in, excepting that there may be a small margin or error (not more than 1pt in a given stat) due to serial truncation not being associative.Originally Posted by Max™
k what i thought it, it dynamically changes with your gear/buffs.
What effect does Military Harp (+2 Finale) have on finale? dispel more buff?
It makes it more accurate only I believe, not really a big deal against 99% of mobs, I think the only things I've ever seen resist my Finale every now and then are Genbu and Byakko. You'd probably be better off sticking with a Wind Instrument and your normal Wind build.Originally Posted by SamanosukeShiva

In fairness, I used those earrings back at level 30 like 3 years ago, the DRK one and the BRD one, although I was a fulltime RDM/DRK at the time so I was at least batting .500, lol.
Edit: Shit, you made me forget my question, lol!
I know there's a cap to Magic Damage %- effect(50% I think?), but does MDB count towards the total reduction, or can you surpass it with MDB?
