I reactivated mine less than a month ago and already bought marbles.
My random question(s) -
Assuming a good, non-relic thief, what kind of distribution is there between SA/TA/WS vs normal melee on a parse?
As a followup, dex/agi modifiers on SATA act as fSTR/WSC, correct?
And finally, it seems to me base damage on daggers is a little overrated (unless thieves have a large portion of their damage from nonSA/nonTA dot...which I don't think a parser even separates non-WS SAs?). What exactly do thieves prioritize for as far as weapons go (damage, delay, acc, attk, dex, agi)?
And in the immediate - is Hornetneedle worth equipping, assuming I already have the pop item? Or is Bone+1/Corsair flat out better?
For me on a parse, it typically looks like;
DoT + SA/TA: 65-70%~
WS: 30-35%~
In an non-endgame situation; as you say, parsers can't differentiate between SA/TA damage and DoT damage very well. My average SA was ~425 and my average TA ~460, numbers were 166720 DoT vs 92610 WS, from an actual parse taken ages ago.
DEX/AGI on SA/TA are equivilent to the (D + fSTR [+WSC]) bracket on soloSA/TA, where 1DEX/AGI = +1 BD, unless you have AF+1 Gloves which give the 15% AGI bonus. On weaponskill, DEX/AGI added from SA/TA does NOT get multiplied by fTP, only pDIF.
In speedburn situations like meripo, a lot of your damage is derived from your non-SA/TA DoT and so BD is important obviously, but in more endgamey scenarios your DoT is very poor and SA/TA or WS damage takes over.
For weapons, I generally ignore DEX/AGI unless it's in very large quantities since AGI in particular only becomes useful once every 50 seconds at best, then I just compare things like you would any other weapon; bearing in mind dagger delay is low so differences in delay are "magnified" compared to other weapons.
Is there any way to purchase just a registration code for the actual game? Hell, it'd be fine if it was for the game and all expansions as well, but all I can see are purchasable codes for expansions, which doesn't help me in the new account creation. >_>;
Thanks.
Is the total number of WS points required for your Nyzul Weapon based on the highest floor you have recorded on your disc at the time you start the WS quest, or does it refresh every time you record your level when exiting NI?
I have determined your problem and have marked the area for excision. Your insurance will be billed as services have been rendered.
Spoiler: show
The only way to get a whole nother code is to buy a brand new game unfortunately. :\ I remember looking into this when i made my 2nd char awhile ago. You can buy FFXI online at certain places if you want to though and its really not all that expensive to get the game + every expansion code.

CURRENT Runic Disc progress dictates the amount of points needed to complete the quests.
Just pretend that everyone needs that 10,000 or whatever WS points no matter what their progress is for each quest. However, achieving/having Runic Disc progress earns you WS points (hence, lower points needed to break "latent") towards your goal. If you have a floor-95 disc, you have all but 500 of those points needed. Go gather up 250+ WS points on your weapon and as soon as you get that Runic Key (which theoretically earns you 250 more WS points) you will have the WS unlocked on said weapon as you exit floor-100.
In terms of hate, is there a difference between /logout and /shutdown? My friend today seemed 100% sure /shutdown made you completely lose aggro or something, but I thought this was only if the mob was after you at the time.
Also, is there any way to un-rage something besides letting it regen a tic? What's the most efficient way of doing this with a group of abut 6 people?
Rage-wise, I think a NM killing all of it's current targets and becoming docile (and yellow), for the brief moment it does, is enough to un-rage. This happened when we raged a Sandworm a long time ago while waiting on a bunch of slackers. We wiped and a competing linkshell -immediately- claimed it when it killed us, stopped, and went yellow. We all laughed, waiting to see it eat their PLDs up with 800+dmg hits but nope. They enjoyed some Serket, thanks to us.
Aslong as hate list is clean it will unrage instantly (no needing to turn white or regen), seen it enough times in aery to be sure of that.
How many cure cast merits are needed to cap it? This would be assuming /sch and cure clogs are in use. Almost ready to start finishing off category 1 merits for WHM and I'm not quite sure how to split them between CC and regen.
There is two different answers. One is "how many cure speed merits + clogs until I break an animation tier" and the other is "does cure speed actually cap"
I think the animation is 3+clogs, not 100%.
But, I believe that cure speed isn't capped on the server-end (there is a poster on BG who crusades this, they'll chime in I'm sure). I'm capped cure merits and use clogs+loq. Plus, those last merits still help on Curaga, iirc.
Yeah AFAIK the server-side uncapped thing is true. In kraken's case, animation is not at all trustworthy, for instance. The spellcasting bar is also pretty bleh.
Where is a good place to solo skill up 108 marksmanship on a 59 thf?
Is there any real reason to merit anything but STR/INT? I was thinking MND since I love RDM and I'm a MND whore but meh.. I just really haven't touched this Merit Category.
Quick question about B2 access.
We have a few members that still need B1. Is it possible for us to do B1, followed by B2 immediately after? Wiki claims that you need to get the finishing cutscenes in Ru'Lude first, but I seem to remember people people claiming they did them back to back.
Thanks
