it can still use those TP moves, they're just far less likely it seems. the explanation i heard was that if the NM still lived CC could use the TP move entirely at her discretion, while if the NM were dead, she would need TP (possibly an atypically large quantity) in order to use the WS. things get through based on what i've seen and if you're relying on her to be nice and not charmga, it's a crapshoot. we've done it before when things went wonky and we had to charge the boss w/o killing goober (don't ask. long story. stuff happens.) and we still managed to take her out. other times, goober died and she still got off charm.
What exactly are the Valhalla Breastplate and helm good for?
The only thing I can really think of is:
* Idle while /war or /rdm
* When you are out of shadows, your Ni timer is down, so you need to survive the 4 seconds of ichi casting with no protected (switch to haste gear before the spell goes off).
Wouldn't Koenig Schaller be better for both of the above, with the added shield skill?
-Magic damage taken
Ow god, why is this happening to me? macro
Motherfucking bitchy ass Byakko's (HA HA, TRIPLE > CLAW CYCLONE > TRIPLE IN YOUR ASS, MAX!)...
Oh, and the ultimate in Jeunopose gear, that shit is BEAUTIFULLY detailed.
Btw, Pchan, Supertank indicates that they should have no awareness of anyone other than the person Supertanking.
In actuality, they run all over the place chasing after whoever has hate on the claimed mobs, not just WSing.
Have you tanked this fight?
Did they change it?
First time I did it, we tried supertanking, I pulled one off the supertank, two came to me, the Gob wound up behind me attacking someone else at some point, and at times they'd run back to the guy trying to supertank them.
They don't just run off to WS people, they actually share hate in some weird way, which you notice easily because spiking hate on one tends to get all of their attention.
The second time I did it, I went Pld/War, stood out in the middle, and spam voked/flashed any which ran away from me. With a little support you can easily bloodtank the fight, they don't hit hard.
So having the ability to spike VE and get their attention worked wonders, as they don't care much about CE, like Campaign Imp Leechkeepers.
I've done this fight every day, I initially aggro them on mnk/blu with def food and the other monk is /nin using attack food. I'm the one taking most of the damage although obviously not doing the most damage. So supertanking works, but maybe you need to be actually engaged to one of them.
Only done it with pickups, but they have a weird ass hate sharing mechanic, and like I said they seem to have CE decay.
The Gob has the tele-WS, which is kinda awesome, but they all seem to "link", like Yag + Orc and Quad + Gob will assist each other basically.
Do Quick Draw enhance merit spells (i.e. Dia 3, Slow 2, etc.)? COR in my ls says it does not, but it seems too much of a dick move even by SE standards. Has any testing ever been done?
Pretty much what ended up happening tonight. We normally kill CC easily (I had just always wondered about this), but she got Charmga between the CSSer's stuns and it went downhill from there.
I'm no COR (or RDM), but if it affects the non-merit versions, I imagine it would affect their merit counterparts. Can't think of why they wouldn't.
arguing with someone about this, is meteor damage static (ala am2/t4) or split (ga3)
I know the * search flag
eg /sea * only shows people in parties, is there any way to
1. search for people not in parties only
2. search only for party leaders
Well, Valhalla Helm would obviously be better when you cant block (Terrorized, Stun'ed)... so helpful for those fights where you find yourself eating hits like that every other TP move. Also, sometimes a straight -5% damage taken turns out to be better than the chance of blocking +5/7 shield skill give, this has been discussed many times comparing Shadow and Boxer's Mantle without any really conclusive answers, I think.
Aegis + Capped Shellra V overkills in 2% MDT. So if your whm has capped Shellra V you only need -23% MDT to hit the cap, but PLDs often go for -25% or even 27-28s% since they dont always have merited WHMs, I guess.
Provoke is a horrible, useless excuse of a job ability. That is all. Yes, I know that wasn't a question.
Now now, Provoke is a horrible hate tool, but it is a great job ability under one condition.
That condition being you are spamming it constantly, if I could make a macro that just spammed Provoke automatically, regardless of what I was doing, I would.

I voke like crazy on War, on Pld... well, that ACP fight with the weird CE mechanic is the first time I've ever felt like I was better off on Pld/War since I was doing FoV's and got Vorpal Blade early (Berserk + DA's + DD Gear/Merits + Doubles and crits = 1100 Vorpals to Demons in Xarc, weee!)... which was a twist.
No way, provoke is awesome :]
You know... like... when people use it on adds/links and don't let mages die. I find that people tend to forget how to provoke though, mostly inspired by their own sense of self preservation.
IE: WHY WOULD I PROVOKE THAT MONK, IT JUST 2 HRD LOLZ!
*Black Mage 1 dies*
*Black Mage 2 dies*
etc.
Now, as a 'main' hate tool at 75 it definitely needs something to be desired, but it still has uses. And up until then it's the bee's knees!
Voking monks is the best.
Seigan, Third Eye, Retaliation + badass mages = I fucking rape it with it's own 2hr.
Key being bad ass mages >_>
Third Eye down for 2 seconds and no stuns, and you are a dead Taru. 3 Seconds maybe for Galka...
All galka here, and it's amazing how well you can take damage when you cancel your berserk, hit defender, and swap your gear!
If you don't do that and count on just dealing damage faster than the mob... you're usually on the losing end of the boom-stick. Unless you get lucky, then you just look awesome.
