cerb is way too fun to tank from the front, only situation it might be helpful is solo tanking him with no elegy but ive seen a ls on my server with 4 plds back tanking him, thats just being a pussy![]()

Just curious, anyone know if they added XBL Achievements for 75 SCH/DNC yet?
Damn, gotta try that next time I solo-stall Khim. <_>Originally Posted by Drunkenmonk

MIGHT add 5%ish crits) and it's much more consistent than the other War with basically the same gear when he used Byakko's.
I imagine Perdu will produce nice high end RR's, but it's hard to beat averaging 1k on a crit TP ws at MJSP with "meh" WS gear.
As BRD, what song order should I do with a RNG? Madrigal->Minuet->Prelude(rng)?
Well I'm only 31, almost 32
Would my performance still be acceptable if I TPed in Scorpion Arrows and WSed in Demon for meripo? I haven't got any merits so I'm looking to get started on some, since I dinged 75 and got consumed by rl. Or would my damage output be so pathetic I'm better off going campaigning 24 to avoid shame in parties? I can only play when I'm home for holidays, and it's frustrating when I can't even afford simple things like ammo... No steady source of income really.
Archery weights is on the ranged weapon itself, ammo gives minimal impact. Though 10 base damage can really matter when you have relatively high ratk. If you have obow, just use obow in merit PT.Originally Posted by Ryousuke

You should be able to. 2 hour charm the Blubber Eyes and have at it. If you're unsure about it, ask a friend to come and pop Hume or Mithra.Originally Posted by Vandole
ok, short answer. by 75, if you're using bow, the standard is to tp in demon and ws in kabura.Originally Posted by Ryousuke
long answer...
it depends on your market economy, but firstly, the above poster who suggested obow was 100% right that in meritpo, if you have obow, use obow(except colibri... oddly enough i find myself parsing better with hellfire b/c they resist the acid bolts so heavily, and even as an elvaan in osode and sune-ate, the add-effect on holy bolts get strongly resisted as well... but jesus christ, obow in mire is like deco-weapon-old-school-awesome).
that said, at least on alexander, a stack of scorpion arrows goes for 2k, a stack of demons goes for 3-4k. oddly enough however, a stack of quivers are 16k and 45k respectively. so it can seem somewhat daunting to come up with that kind of money, but while while base damage of ammo matters MUCH more on marksmanship than archery, the fact of the matter is, if you showed up to a meritpo and the war was using a dmg 41 axe(maneater's 49 and woodsville is 50, so that's why i pulled the #41 out of midair... dmb fans can giggle later), wouldn't you be at least a little 'huh?'
no one in this deflationary economy expects a ranger to main kabura arrows full time(and trust me i have tried, and have friends that are smithers and clothcrafters cutting me deals on mats while i made my own ammo, and even for me that's a pinch on the wallet). but demon arrows are pretty much the standard in meritpo(throw in a ppa every 2:30 and you'll do very nicely), and can even save someone's life from the attack down effect! lol. good luck tho... ranger never stops being a difficult job to finance, but if you're married to using a bow in meritpo(which i hope means you're either using sbow or ebow), try to rock the demon arrows.
oh, and one last thing, and this is not directed at you, this is just something i've noticed as someone who is a 75 rng but is also a mage... unless you're at mamool staging point or trolls, never ever sub war if you want your chains to last. i know we all love our flashy shot berserked warcried ppa sidewinder, but especially at birds, subbing war means you either have to hold tp way longer than you should, or you become an mp sink. either way, it lowers the efficiency of the pt ^^
what does "Enhance Jump/High Jump Effect" in DRG AFs do?
At which level half you reached the half-way exp mark to 75.
EDIT: Nevermind, found it.

Don't think anybody really knows about af feet, the old otherwiki entry on high jump is hilarious though. "We don't know how much" then "omg increases from this minimum" Olde entry is http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/index.php? ... did=395763
All anyone really knows is they don't directly increase damage on crits. SA+ high jump/jump with and without af feet = same damage, no variance other than the norm. Very possible it increase crit rate, but that would take an amazing amount of time to determine both normal melee crit rate and jump crit rate, while knowing if you didn't DA{assuming you dont use lvl 0 mobs}..
Using amir boots/rutters/heca etc is most likely better anyway even if it was more crit rate.
Of course someone could've figured this out recently; then this post is made of fail.
BST and PUP are both pet jobs. Without it's pet, though, BST can actually still do half-assed decent damage. Without it's puppet, PUP is like a retarded mnk who thinks he's playing WoW. So why is BST's timer 5 minutes and PUP's timer 20 minutes ?
I'll never understand why people compare PUP and MNK. Anyway, I parsed my pup in merit and dynamis-xarcapard. The melee and range puppet do 1/2 the damage of the master (yep), while the BLM puppet does twice the damage of the master. Comparatively, our BST's damage was evenly split between him and it's pet, so without its pet, BST damage sucks too.Originally Posted by imsomeone
without knowing how much they were doing relative to each other this could be an argument for saying that the pup -and- puppet both suck (although I don't think this is what you're trying to say, it's a valid conclusion from the data given.)Originally Posted by pchan
When should I start using them?Originally Posted by elphaba
any time you're 1) overcamping or 2) the melee have moved on from minuet x2 to march/minuet. and of course any time a rng politely asks for it(perhaps they'd like to use meat at a camp more traditionally sushi-friendly).
when not to use it: 1) VT or lower mobs or 2) if you're pulling. i dont expect a single brd pulling to keep up more than 3 songs. if they're good, they're keeping up 4. asking for a 5th is just brutal.
Really my point was, if pup is a job that depends on it's puppet in order to keep up with other jobs, why is the timer on activate so long whereas some jobs like bst or smn's are so short ?Originally Posted by Amele
