Oh snap, I completely forgot about Forager's. Yeah. Forager's > Amemet+1 = Cerberus (The way to decide between those two specifically is in my edited post).

Well currently I wont be able to buy anything for a quite a while, and the options I have are Met+1 or a NQ Cerb (which I cannot sell)

So which would yield better results on anything lvl 80+?

I already answered this in my original post with an edit, lol. If your total STR in TP gear with Cerberus Mantle NQ is exactly divisible by 4 (ie: 92 total STR, 96, etc), then Cerb NQ > Amemet+1. In all other cases, Amemet+1 is better.

Thanks, Sorry I did not recheck your post for edits after I first saw it =P

Also 1 more question, sorry for the noobery

Pole Grip or Sword Strap in high haste situations? ie. 40%+ haste

For SAM, when you have the extra STP to keep your 6 hit.

Assuming you keep your 6-hit, *without* losing the beneficial stats of another armor piece (Not possible), Then you'd be comparing a 3% increase in WS frequency and 0% increase in WS dmg with a 2% increase to DoT, 2% increase to WS damage, and a .33% increase to WS frequency (?). Forget it, I'm probably failing at these maths.

Long story short, you're probably losing enough damage by adding the STP for Sword Strap to warrant using Pole Grip anyways; completely disregarding the fact that DA can proc on SAM WS for a considerable amount of damage, and adds to your DoT/WS frequency. Pole.

I am not losing anything by adding the STP, My only choice is to TP in Usukane Haramaki as I have no alternatives, I'm in debt 1.2m so no Hauby+1 Anymore

    Would this change your answer?

Not really, lol. I'd still stick with Pole Grip. But, that's just me. As I've already shown, I'm not entirely sure how to crunch the numbers between the two. Someone else will probably come in and fix it later.

Also there is a food called Angler's Cassoulet that gives regen (1/tic) for an hour. You have to do a one-time quest, and then an NPC in Sandy [S] will give you this food once per conquest tally.
Don't gold passes require you to not have any character at all - so it'd be your first? I'd think the only way to get a sol cap would be to get a new account and pay for it for three months. Do tell if I'm wrong

    FFXIGEAR.com

You've lost all of 60 defense (boo hoo), added an extra 5% PDT down, and slightly increased your DD potential while in PDT gear. Ethereal is doing absolutely nothing for a job that doesn't use MP.

Edit: I just realized I changed the ammo to Seashell on accident. Just ignore that, it should be Bomblet. Too lazy to make a new set and re-link.
I like this. Minus the Dring I should be able to pull it off. I'd do jelly isntead of shadow though on melee mobs

sword strap + usu body = winner when you have lots of attack buffs, apprently if you have more than ~530 ATT ( /war+brd, or brd+cor, or bard+brd etc). Math over here

You're saying -5% PDT is better than +63 defense and +39 VIT? Do you even play PLD? <_> The defense formulas are bad, but not nearly that bad.

Also, what do you mean by "being useful at all in that amount"? I might be misunderstanding you. Are you saying that in that set there's not enough VIT/DEF to reduce damage? VIT has a diminishing return, so you'll notice more damage reduction from the first +30 VIT over the second +30 VIT, not the other way around.

I think your numbers are way off. 112 VIT not including Shadow Mantle latent is a ton, and more than most PLDs use even in their PLD/WAR set. No PLD should ever consider using Darksteel Subligar +1 over Kaiser Diechlings in a straight up defense build, so why would WAR?

Also remember that Metatron Torment gives a hefty PDT bonus.

You're right, I forgot to change it from the TP build. For the PDT set I'd swap it to Cassie Earring. Also, using an Orochi Nodawa in that set isn't really worth it, since it'll only be on for a tick or two (meaning 1-2 HP regenned, and VIT+5 should reduce more than 1-2 damage over the course of the time that the set is equipped!).

*EDIT* For reference, here's the best PLD/WAR idle tanking set you can build. You'll notice it has 7 less VIT than our WAR build (make sure to click of Shadow Mantle latent) and only an extra 50 defense, which comes almost entirely from the Aegis itself.

So I need a WS gorget for Raging Rush. Most people use Snow Gorget but I already have Breeze, so I'm covered on Steel Cyclone/King's Justice. I noticed Aqua covers RR and Atonement, so that be nice for my PLD. I guess my questions are:

    1. Does it matter if I get Snow or Aqua for RR?
    2. Do WS gorgets to anything for Atonement?

PS. I tried searching for this but since "sea torques" is a forum title it was kind of hard to narrow.

This is all assuming you can apply our melee formula from their side, and I'm not completely sure on the super low fStr calculations/having level correction way out of your favor part.

Let's just take some numbers that sound reasonable, Dmg 100 Str 80 Att 600 (after level correction) might work for a high end mob.

FFXIGEAR.com For a simple example that isn't all ZOMGDRINGS, he is starting on a new toon after all.

    80 Str - 104 Vit gives -24 dStr, so let's call it Dmg 94.
    600 Att/363 Def gives 1.65 pDif

    94 x 1.65 = 155 for a normal hit, 113 after -27% PDT (15 gear, 12 MT).
    94 x 2.65 = 249 for a critical hit, 181 after -27% PDT

    or

    FFXIGEAR.com

    80 Str - 74 Vit gives 6 dStr, so let's say Dmg 101
    600 Att/309 Def gives 1.94 pDif

    101 x 1.94 = 195 for a normal hit, 126 after -35% PDT
    101 x 2.94 = 296 for a critical hit, 192 after -35% PDT

Last time I got whacked by a big nasty, I got hit for 250~260 and Crit for a good deal more.

    220 (390) - 27% PDT = 160 (284) for a turtley Vit/Def setup
    260 (430) - 35% PDT = 169 (279) for a -PDT setup.

The harder you get hit, the faster Vit/Def falls behind, the numbers aren't exact, and I may have totally fucked up some parts of the formula, but the general point remains.

If you're gonna get whacked by something that could get a normal hit for 250~300 Dmg and crit for 400~500 Dmg, -PDT is going to get better the harder you get hit.

Lycopodium Sash is 3 HP/tick during the day. Depending on your situation, it could be rather easy or wildly difficult to get, however.
