Edit: When STR-VIT value is high, fSTR can be approximated by (your STR - monster VIT+4)/4 kk i get it now 103-64+4 = 40/4 = 10 for the fstr 10. Only prob now is that I'm gonna cap out fstr on Gcolbri w/ full usu and not rly gonna get anything but stp+5 on focus up macro from rajas >.> should I be using the attack+5 ring?

The lower cap of fSTR is - Weapon Rank
vs
# Lower cap value at dSTR = -(7 + weapon rank x2) x2

Destroyers for example in the first example would be -2
but in the second example
-(7 + 4) x 2 = -22str which if 4 str/fstr then that'd be way more than -2

The usukane set gives +16 STR and I get 78 as MNK/NIN, cheap kabobs are +5 so that's 99. If colibris have 67 VIT you only need 4 more STR to cap, so raja will do it ; and yes going from 14 store tp to 19 saves half of a round IIIRC, so it's all good. Other slots need attack (charger, mermain, uthalam etc,divisor) but a second STR earring is still useful since on WS set I typically have less STR. To be safe I just TP with a second str ring in salvage for instance (i don't have uthalam) and I'm considering using an Osode for body ... This and the fact that pizza has been proven to be better on mamoolja camps, and you actually cap acc on anything that is not a puk (obfuscate..) or a wyvern with str ring full time.

Senji is rank 4 perdu is rank 3
dSTR = (14 + (weapon rank x2)) x2

Senj (14 + (8)) x2 = +44 str over mob's VIT
Perdu (14 + (6)) x2 = +40 str over mob's VIT

I just hit 75 war and want to merit. I have no endgame gear or merits. Is anyone going to complain I'm gimp when I'm using this gear. Going to copy it from my spellcast xml. Also I have woodville's axe and maneater for dualwielding from by bst, will those be better then the axe of trials I'm using till I can get it replaced with the assault Gaxe or byakko's axe?

Thick Legs/Feet are pretty weak, anyone that showed up to a party in those would make me sad. But they aren't stupid to wear if you don't have anything better yet.

Pick up some Dusk Ledelsens if you have the gil, or better yet ZNM for Aurum Sabatons. AH options for legs pretty much all suck, it's all about the Byakko's Haidate.

Fourth Division Toporok is a pretty good cheap AH gaxe if you don't have Rajas for a 6-hit, but Axe of Trials isn't terrible. It will probably do better than Wood/Man.

looks like gear a random war seeking at 75 would have. noone will complain if they get you, because usually if you're seeking and someone invites you - they're just as gimp. if it's like 5 guys from a decent LS, they probably won't complain at you, but in /linkshell. lol

Berserker's Axe and Fourth Division Toporok are 2 fairly decent stand-in great axes that I can think of before you get byakko's/perdu.

Your gear isn't terrible for just reaching 75, you're only going to get better with more merits. Until you get great axe merits you could spam crab sushi (very cheap) when fighting greater colibri which would put you near capped accuracy without aggressor. Dusk ledelsens would be a good AH upgrade for feet.

For missions, you've obviously made some progress in CoP to have a swift belt; rajas ring and brutal earring would be good improvements and, along with chivalrous chain would give you enough store tp to reach 100 tp in 6 hits as war/sam (with a 504 delay GA).

Great advice guys thanks ^^. I'm one BCMN away from sea so raja's is going to be pretty obtainable and I'm going to (try) to get a linkshell to do limbus with to get the coins for brutal earring. I'm hoping to pick up a pair of dusk ledelsens after the mog bonanza with cheap behemoth hides being sold.

Also what subjob should I be using, /nin or /sam?

Would PLD/RDM be reliable to solo the Wyverns in Ifrit's Cauldron that drop helms provided you have 10,000 echo drops?

Short answer, Yes. I'm not going to get into gear/macro dependencies since I know you know what you're doing. Your biggest concern's going to be Fang Rush, as long as you have the Echos to counter Radiant Breath. But they're honestly not very tough, and you should be able to kill them relatively quickly.

May also be possible on Pld/Nin with a DD set. I've solo'd them on Mnk/Nin and Pld/Rdm, never got around to trying Pld/Nin.

How much was fang rush hitting you for? I'll be able to 2box a BRD for songs - would it be worth it to have it /THF for TH1 or /WHM for support?

I'm not sure how bad the drop rate is

They are easily soloable but if you can 2box brd just make a silena and paralyna macros, if you take a lot of damage or can't get buffs back up you can just sleep them.

I wouldn't recommend subbing /thf on the bard because otherwise you'll waste an assload of gil on remedies, shriek paralyze is very potent.

You know that program weapon checker that lets you see the amount of WS points of latent/nyzul/etc. weapons? How do you update it to work with the latest FFXI update? I've done it before but I've forgotten how..

EDIT: I found out you need to change the "ItemAddress" value in the CS file or whatever, anyone know what the new value is??

You two box a BRD and its a joke. I used to do PLD + boxed BRD for Tarasque skins for like 2 years, and I'd kill Wyverns occasionally when waiting for repop or to make pulling easier. Just face it away from the BRD and sub NIN imo; elegy owns their attack speed and shadows are nice considering their ATK is pretty high.

A real challenge would be trying to duo Vouivre dual-boxed lol; guy sucks. I tried once boxed RDM and me on THF, basically ended in a losing stalemate due to its regen and ridiculous Triple Attack.

Seconded.

It's rather easy on RDM+NIN, downside is your only progress comes from jin really since regen is barely below melee damage.

So LS hasn't been doing Sandworm much, excuse me if this has happened before or if it's normal...but it's almost as if we got split into to different instances. About 4 people were sent to one serket, and the rest of the alliance to another. Any ideas?

Fang Rush peaked at about 500 when I was fighting them, when I managed 0/3 shield procs and stoneskin was far from fresh. On average, didn't hit near that hard. Pretty much what everyone else has said beyond that. Pld+Brd makes these a joke.
