Look for some upgrades I can bring to my idle gear for PLD. This is what I have right now.
Joy | Koenig | Lamia | -
Askar | Peacock Charm | Suppa | Brutal
Haub | Homam | Snipers | Ulthalam
Amemet+1 | Swift | Homam | Homam
Some of the obvious choices I know are Haub > Haub+1 and Snipers to +1 or a Toreaders. Amemet+1 I know would be better suited as a Cerb or a Culchain's, but other than that do I have any significant changes I can make?
Thanks in advance.
Say a crit increases your average weighted pDIF (including cRatio, old critrate, and normal pDIF) by two, or doubles damage. That's a 100% increase in damage. Now, 6% times 100% is a damage increase of 6% during the TP phase and has no effect on WS whatsoever. 3,6% damage.
Next, Hades. 3,5% hitrate. With a hitrate of 85% this is a total damage increase (WS frequency and TPing damage) of 4,375%, and it adds to WS damage as well.
Keep in mind the double damage for a crit is an assumption very much in favor of Destroyers because normally it'll be maybe a 50% increase or so.
Lower hitrate, Hades get better. Lower pDIF, Destroyers get better. Most situations, Hades win.
Other than the obvious ones you mentioned:
Walahra Turban is better than Askar.
Brutal Earring isn't great with Joyeuse, switching to something like Assault/Fowling would probably be better.
Terror Shield is a small upgrade over Koenig for a pretty sizeable cost. I'd go for things like Cerb. Mantle before this one.
Out of curiosity, what makes Brutal less effective with Joyeuse? Also had read that Askar was better than Turban, but oh well that's an easy thing to fix. One I forgot to ask was would Fortitude be better than PCC, or should I stick with PCC?
It's not that Brutal is particularly bad with Joyeuse, it's just that it's only half as good as it is with any other sword. Adding 2.5% Double Attack instead of 5% is still good, but I'm not sure if it's actually better than the other options for that slot. It probably still is best though, maybe someone can swoop in with a page of math to prove it.
I think that Charm would be better than Fortitude for a PLD, just because the additional accuracy is probably more important than the attack that you get from Skill.
- Tiphia sting if you can spare the -HPJoy | Koenig | Lamia | -
Askar | Peacock Charm | Suppa | Brutal
Haub | Homam | Snipers | Ulthalam
Amemet+1 | Swift | Homam | Homam
- Turban
- Charm beats Fort for ACC yes, just need enough attack to stay out of the 0's
- Brutal's +2.5% may be beaten by Hollow or Minuet or even Fowling depending on your hitrate; parse your hitrate and if you have to guesstimate, low hitrate = ACC earring
- Homam body beats NQ haub for ACC; just need enough attack to stay out of the 0's
- Another Sniper beats Ulthalam's for ACC, etc. etc.
In all honesty your PLD idle set is perfectly fine
Math you read was probably some I did, which was on the basis of a two handed weapon, askar will almost never be better for a one hander, basically for askar to better for a pld you would need your acc > 50% and haste > 45%, and if you're doing that bad with sushi something is wrong.
actually brutal is 2.75% DA because joyouse is 45% not 50%, and for 3 acc to had that much you need to be at 60% acc or less for fowling/mineut to beat brutal, and at 65% acc or less for Hollow/ACP spinel, but that would require pld to give up ethereal which is unlikely, and no idea on charm vs fortitude on pld since I am told pld need to worry about att to not hit for 0 and whore acc.
Order of operations for +att?
Lets assume I only have a 100 base ATT
I eat a Mithkabob
I then obtain Minuets (we'll say +114)
I then obtain Chaos Roll (lets just say +20% ATT)
Which adjusts my ATT first, and how are % rates calculated?
For the purpose of lowering recast time, does Haste gear need to be equipped before the spell starts casting, or just before it actually goes off? What about Fast Cast gear? (Obviously Fast Cast has to be equipped before casting is started to reduce casting time)
minuet adds to base attack, then chaos then food i believe. I am not real sure though would like some confirm/deny.
edit,
also, is it not true that berserk also goes off base attack+minuets and then is added to chaos,
like 100 base, zerk bumps to 125, and say you hit a 25% chaos it will be 125+125, then food afterwards?
that also happens to make some of these atk/acc/haste comparisons have some lulz because adding base attack through gear makes zerk etc more powerful, as in attack is a bit underrated
Nvm - It's all figured out.
quick question: is maneater/joytoy better than axe/axe under the following situation.
I have 8/8axe merits
I have 8/8 great axe merits.
I heard joytoy is only viable if you have sword merits, but i dont want to give up my gaxe merits.
thx
That's what I thought, but it never hurts to check and I'm offline for the next couple weeks so I couldn't go see for myselfThanks.
