I could get my hands on an Iota ring and ding 118 DEX on my polearm WAR (since I don't use blitz for polearm). Otherwise, no.

Question regarding ENM50 (Vazhl, Toreador's Ring):
I finally managed not to pick the wrong fucking blue orb (something's seriously lacking in my screen, it's basically just green blue blue :3) and it was an easy solo on SAM (polearm, Penta blue orb, melee blue orb off, meditate, Penta x4 on big orb, done). However, that's just one character. I have more. What jobs can solo that and what are the strategies? On FFXIAH there's a comment regarding M.Kris DRK being able to do it (how?) and I've heard of RDM being able too. Those are the ones I'm most interested in. Can a SAM without polearm merits do it too? That SAM has a soboro if it matters.
Well I tried some stuff with my monitor and I thought I saw a bit of a difference last time (the one where I won) but could just be luck.
I duo with Tempyst (he has Polearm merits, I don't, but I do rock a Soboro), and nothing you have at 50 can put out like Penta can. Even self-chaining isn't impressive.
Yuck, you think Soboro won't be able to solo? I figured high DMG GKT, do 2 weaponskills on light blue orb, it should die soon after, then your 3 WSs on the bigger orb, then switch to soboro and hope you live.
Maybe RDM solo isn't worth the hassle and I could just do RDM + Soboro SAM duo while I figure out a way to do the M.Kris DRK one. Got at least 1 covered, Penta is indeed sexy. 1200 on the initial orb near-kills it <3
I think the only reason I get to go along is because I know the way through Beaucedine, honestly. Jinpu and/or Enpi just sucks, soboro or no.
Don't you have mnk? If so it can be pretty easy. My best clear time is something like 1 min 40 secs (but perfectly executed). W/o the use of a single potion or even chakra.
What you do is make a windower macro that changes a visible piece of armor every second. This should make it to where if you get hit by empty seed and don't blink over the animation (and not get knocked back), it won't be nearly as much as before.
I go in, pop zerk focus raging fists the aqua MR hit hit and it dies, pop one. I have a macro
/item "Psychoanima <stnpc>" and i hit that fucker w/ it as soon as possible. Then I run in, hit my macro for swapping, pop 2hr and WS whenever can. about 50% of the time I can win w/o using a single potion, but I always carry 3 hi pot +3s and 1 nq vile elixir (which I get free from solo'ing serket) for emergency
Maybe its my lack of ever playing BLM75 on my chars but if you already have witch sash why is 1INT better than total of 5% magic crit? (the magic crit grip vs. bugard)?
Pretty sure 5% on any other stat in the game would be > 1mod (DA vs STR, crit vs STR, etc)
Maybe I'm missing something or maybe it's insignificant but I cant remember the last time I saw a magic crit grip.
Over 100 casts, Wise Strap will provide 10 Magic Attack Bonus for 2 casts, or 20 Magic Attack Bonus total, while Bugard Leather Strap +1 will provide Magic Attack Bonus +0.5 and Magic Accuracy +0.5~1 for every cast, or 50 Magic Attack Bonus total and 50~100 Magic Accuracy total.
So wise strap is never better? Period?
For epic screenshots.
Quick Draw if anyone ever figured out whether it effects it. You can't quantify INT in MAB(doing so is a logical fallacy as one is a static increase while one is a percentage), but there is no situation where 3% magic crit will average better numbers than 1 INT. One thing worth mentioning that most people overlook is that when you're the only damage on something, 1 INT will rarely reduce your nukes needed to kill(or even lower the tier needed). A magic critical will allow you to. It's just nitpicking though, Bugard is the better all-around strap.. but if it's not saving you a nuke it's doing nothing.
the above is a tad simplified, (1 int is not equal to 1 mab) but you're looking at an increase of 10 mab 3% of the time. assuming you have let's just lowball it and say +50 MAB from gear and traits (assuming blm ofc) that represents a 160/150=1.0666666 round to about 7% gain in damage on 3 out of every 100 nukes or an average of about .2% increase in overall damage. by comparison, a bugard strap+1 offers +1 int. assuming thunder IV against a mob with moderately decent int (IE the dint let's say is 10 in your favor) the effective increase of 1 int on your damage would be
about a .36% increase in overall damage.Spoiler: show
a caveat though is that if your int is so high that you hit a cap (your dint caps versus the target) the extra int has no impact on your damage and the wise strap is more powerful. it should be noted though, that to reach this threshold you have to nuke something a rather inordinate chunk weaker than yourself (think tunnel worm weak, maybe a bit stronger) for this caveat to apply. in nearly every situation it's of no consequence and the general rule of "wise strap is always worse" applies, but i know some math nerd will come along and correct me if i don't post it!
also thorny makes an interesting point. it would be a nice toy for cor adding almost 10% (due to their very limited suite of mab tools) damage to their shots if it works. i have no idea if QD shots can roll for magic crit though.
Even when I'm right, I'm wrong. Quit clouding the issue with facts!
tldr;
Use Bugard Leather Strap +1
Question;
I'm playing WHM. It's 55~65 exp.
A DD pulls hate. Am I wrong to cast Flash to make it so they can either put up utsu, swap to seigan or possibly let the tank get hate back?
I just had to leave a PT because the leader, a pup (75 whm) was telling me that I'm doing my job wrong.
Has anyone been able to get STR or DEX+ augments on Battle Gloves?
You don't cast Flash when the party member with hate is like, a PLD or WAR in full DD gear, against ITs. They could still easily be hit. SAM MNK NIN have nice EVA and Flash pretty much guarantees mob whiffs. It's a lot of MP saved on your part, which is all that should be your concern. Keep casting Flash, and kick PUPs.
For you THFs out there:
I just hit 60 today and I got Assassin, and from what I read I need to split up SA and TA now, so I don't think I'll be doing SATAWS anytime soon. I know for TA I need to stack +AGI, but how about for TAWS? Do I focus on the mods of the WS or just use +AGI gear?
