For self-targeted enhancing spells, when are modifiers (Enhance+ skil, MND, etc) calculated?
For example, if I wanted to cast Stoneskin, could I start cast in Homam+Loq for fast cast bonus and switch mid cast to +skill and MND for both, or would I need to have any bonuses on at the beginning?
Potency is determined at the point of casting, starting in FC and switching to stats works fine, however this will only reduce casting time and not recast, if that matters to you.Originally Posted by DiomedesSylph

I use Ridill/Joy with a heavy DEX setup myself, don't pt much on it, but it seems to do ok. Kinda wanna try out perdu, company or such with ridill offhand, but I'm lackign a bit in the time department. Wish I had Fortitude Torque too. :'(
If you're going sword/sword why the hell would you use ANYTHING other than Ridill/Joyeuse, assuming you have both available to you? <_>Originally Posted by Baha
I envy you ; ; i would trade my torque for your sword w.Originally Posted by Baha
This was in dynamis,BST 75, he used the the diremite pet (lifedrinkerlars ?). When you totalize the dmg he was doing ~ 60% of my BLM's damage.Originally Posted by Bakthi
yeah looking through what was said it waw a relatively small test too that was never followed up on, i was just curious because me and a friend got into a lil discussion about pcc/torque v. gorget.Originally Posted by Amele

I haven't ever noticed it happening from doing anything in particualr differently, it's probably just random, this alternate map where he doesn't pop on top of the wooden structure also has different 10 min TEs in the section below Zeruhn.Originally Posted by Wizerd
Quick question about Justice and Joy. Our LS was talking about which to main hand and there we comflicting ideas.
Can both swords proc on WS? If so Joy should be main handed, otherwise Justice.
Is there any other difference between the two forms of DA?
joy/justice, jailer weapons cant proc on WSs sadlyOriginally Posted by Tanag
two part answer as to why the answer is to main justice(im assuming you're talking rdm/nin?):Originally Posted by Tanag
1) joytoy can only double attack during a weaponskill provided you're wearing some form of double attack gear or /war(like a brutal earring) and your weaponskill has room to crit/DA(ie, no asuran fists, under 8 swings)
2) not only can justice proc on ws, but it can actually(well this is an assumption based on testing i did with temperance axe, if i am incorrect i am more than happy to hear to correct answer) double attack on itself provided the user is wearing some sort of gear or sj that gives double attack. i've seen a temperance proc + double attack more than once, attacking three times with the axe(ie, one stone was consumed, and on one of those attack rounds, the double attack from my brutal earring kicked in on a swing, allowing the axe another swing.) only once, but it was the coolest fucking thing in the world, did i see DA proc on both swings of the consumed v. stone attack around, meaning, out in lufaise on those piddly little bugards, my axe swung 4 times.
apparently the poster who beat me to the punch in posting said that jailer weapons can't proc on ws, which is news to me. (bearing in mind i am but a humble temperance rng, meaning the axe is awesome for farming rams if i have stones to burn, but they couldn't have given rng an exception and made virtue earrings or something?)
From using my Fort Axe a lot, I can say that without a doubt I have never seen a triple proc steel cyclone, and since I usually use Steel Cyclone with it on Campaign mobs instead of Raging Rush (generally only WS when I get lucky on their TP moves and hit 250-300) I would have noticed.
Someone argued this for a while in an LS with me, posted pics trying to prove it, but didn't follow the necessary instructions.
Jailer weapons can and will proc off a double attack, which is superfuckinawesome, but won't during WS, which is less awesome, but ok.
Pretty sure no multi-hits will proc during WS, otherwise you'd see/hear of 8 hit Vorpals with Rid/Joy, as opposed to 4 base+1 offhand+2 DA's. (one per hand)
well i stand corrected regarding weaponskills, and have no problem manning up to being wrong. so to the OP, that would make the 35 base dmg of the joytoy superior to that of the 34 of the justice. i spose my tests, which were hardly scientific and much more of the 'squee it just double attacked on itself' variety, were too 'eyeballed.' but yes, while rare, seeing a 4 hit attack, or a double attack on a double attack, is, as my esteemed colleague put it, superfuckinawesome.![]()
You should see it with full haste on War/Sam.
Maxaru readies Raging Rush.
<Maxaru> WHAT THE FUCK, I JUST WSED, WHY DO I HAVE 70% TP AGAIN!
well i am a samurai and do know the virtues, pun intended, of a soboro
but rdm is my next to 75, and while my #1 prio lot in my sea shell is justice torque for my sam(which never ever drops lol), i would jump at the chance to take a free lot sword, and for that matter, gaxe. i've heard amazing things about justice/blau and evisceration spam.
Random question: I have forgotten why after a certain point that combat skill stops translating to 1 accuracy and 1 attack and becomes .9 Accuracy and .9 Attack. Why does this happen?
Because it was programmed to do so.Originally Posted by ringthree
