    Re: Randomer Question Thread

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like my slugwinder accuracy is worse than my normal ranged accuracy. I've had tons of trouble landing sidewinder (when on meat) on the way up, maybe because my gear wasn't great; granted when in my r.acc build I have r.acc where possible just without HQs. Maybe I've always in parties overhunting.

Getting PPA helped out a bit when I can sidewinder with it every 3 minutes.

In any case, I'm so glad when I got heavy shot/arching arrow. 3.5x, great accuracy at 100%, and can crit, means I use that more than slugwinder on anything that's moderately evasive.

sidewinder often misses if you don't have decent racc because description of ws "Delivers a powerful but inaccurate attack. Accuracy varies with TP."

Sidewinder will not have same acc as normal shots.

Sidewinder misses because of the description?

The description also says it does quadruple damage iirc.

Sidewinder/Slugshot have an innate accuracy penalty associated /w it. Since TP affects the accuracy of the WS, it helps dampen the penalty.

Ranger has an innate accuracy boost.

I'm not talking out of my ass here, my RNG has been 75 since 2004, if you're a 75 RNG saving up 200 TP for sidewinder in a merit party for anything other than a buffed momaal ja THF, shame on you. You're obviously doing something wrong if a SAM with 230 archery skill can hit those mobs and you can't.

I was responding to the other guys post, who's clearly not 75 yet as he's said he's missed a lot while he's been leveling up. Rng doesn't get final acc boost till 70, and sidewinder is still a 1 hit inaccurate ws, that's bound to miss occasionally. Even with 300tp and +1 sushi you're going to miss occasionally. When leveling up (pre 75) it is common at some areas/levels to store to 150/175 to get extra acc on ws, or deal with eating sushi till you land reliably for your level if you're low.

If you have a BRD also, yes.

If not, maybe, usually yes, another melee roll usually won't increase your exp/hour as much as COR roll will unless you're seriously overhunting.

How do INT and Magic Attack Bonus compare to one another?

I have a friend who insists that two INT is equal to one MAB, but I have a hard time believing that it's that simple.

    You have wise instincts.

I gave a couple examples of how to compare the two back on p34 of this thread, if you want to check that out, which should hopefully be sufficient to answer your question.

Isn't INT different for each tier of spell though? Like a TierIV gets a larger benefit from INT than a tierIII, I remember reading this, but I dunno >_>:

Yes, if you add INT it's going to increase the damage to a Tier 4/AM/AM2 spell more than a ga3/tier 3 spell which in turn increases by more than a tier1/2 spell.

However, the question when you are comparing INT to MAB it depends on how much it increases the ratio of new damage to old damage. For instance let's say you have 70 MAB and 10 more INT than your target. Compare Burst II to Thunder II, and adding 5 INT versus 3 MAB. Even though every point of INT you add is going to increase the base damage for Burst II by two and Thunder II by only one, because the base damage for Burst II is already so high, the 5 INT is better than MAB for Thunder II, but worse for Burst II.

Old damage (ignoring stuff like staff and day of the week):
    Thunder II: 319
    Burst II: 1241

    MAB+3
    Thunder II: 325
    Burst II: 1262

    INT+5
    Thunder II: 328
    Burst II: 1258

So even though Burst II increases by nearly twice as much damage, the damage was already so high as to make it not as good as the increase in MAB under comparison.

Does "outside of nation's controlled area" apply to ToAU/nonRoZ zones?

Nope sadly not, need to have signet on to make it work as well (in RoZ zones)

If you are RNG, you should try hard not to eat (ranged) accuracy food.

Speaking on merit level, I always eat meat (except mamool north/center). Regardless my ranged hit-rate is good vs G colibri, I still sometimes notice less hit-rate when it comes to landing slugwinder. My slugwinder gear does not, in anyway, have less accuracy than my TP gear (around 405~406 acc). Still, I find it's better to save on 120-130 range for higher chance of landing it

120-130 is the same chance to hit it as 100 as far as I know.

Every bit of extra TP does affect the accuracy, just as every bit of TP you have will increase the damage of the WSes that do that with TP.

    It's not tiered.

Also, I would always WS in Seiyru Kote and Peacock Charm and other random RACC things, but I'd switch out my rings and I think one of my earrings? Or something.

    WS:

    Fran / Trailer / Range / Ammo
    Maat's Cap / Chram / STR+2 / Suppa
    Osode / Kote / STR5 / STR5
    Amemet+1 / I'd use something different here now / Skadi / Skadi

and I'd eat meat. Eat meat, use your Seiryu Kote, keep your chram on, go to town.

    Re: Randomer Question Thread

I'm thinking about a few gear changes or looking for advice on them so i'm gonna use a parse i got this monday. I'm sorrry it wasnt longer and that i dont have more data but the last merit i managed to get my thf invited into had a crap brd, crap mage( who didn't haste me while hasting others so the parse was inaccurate), and had some people who didn't know what the hell they were doing back in December. I wanna see if anyone can tell me any changes i can make (even if they're one i know incase i didnt think of em)
here's a SS of the parse and any pertinant info i can remember that might shed light on why i did anywhere near as good as i did. i'd definetly liek to know wtf happened to make me get as close as I did.
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...fxi/parse2.jpg The image is fuzzy because of photobucket but it's
    drk/sam cor, war/nin brd me(thf/nin) rdm
It's a 1 hour(exactly) parse. exp rate was approximately 25k per hour at the north mamool camp
The brd dced at the beginning by accident when i entered and the war died once during that. he was raised immediately and fought 4 mobs while weak before everyone stopped. the drk died on the second mob after the war had died due to a TA+ws so we decided it was safer to wait until everyone was unweak after that.(and we wanted the brd back)
once the brd was back I went afk once for 2 mobs with nothing getting in the way after that.
I cant remember the songs used. all lurkers had feint on them and probably didn't last more than 10-15 seconds.
i'm thinking at least one was minuet considering how high my atk got. the cor was using war/chaos at the start but changed to cor/chaos after the first round of mobs had us waiting on repops and losing chain. The war wasn't storing tp to 300%.
Ignore the drk/sam he didn't have swift/homam so I'd like to think him being out damaged was a foregone conclusion compared to the other DD.Outside of the lack of COP gear the rest was ok on the drk. I generally WS without stacking unless TA or SA is up within 5 seconds to keep my blau latent constantly active if that makes any difference.
I cant remember if any peices were HQ on the war but
The ebody war/nin was from my observations mid fight
    Food: Sole+1 race: dhalmel
    jugg/ridd
    bomblet
    walmart/hecta during WS
    pcc
    brutal+suppa
    Ebody
Dusk gloves HQ?(he took off dusk while walking so i couldn't /check fast enough) hect hands
    rajas/ulth
    b haidate
    dusk(+1?) /hecta
    amemit+1

I was wearing during TP atk from SS i took was around 540 and 574 during tp
    food: sole race: hume
    blau/miser+1
    Bomb core,walmart
    Chiv, suppa/brutal
    jse, Dusk NQ
    Rajas/sniper
    ame+1,swift
    skadi chausses
relic feet( I left my normal feet in ML by accident and I'm hoping to get homam soon finally. I cant do nyzul for denali since I have salvage AP to get)

    Dex
skadi , spike, minuet, brutal,,dragon harness, hect, raja, thunder, warwolf, dusk, hect

AGI: same as dex set except chiv chain, drone earring/brutal,af+1 hands, garrulous ring( i heard 3 str gives a thf enough fstr to bump a weapon up 2 dmg so i figured it does the same as an agi+1 only with some +atk),scouter's rope ,leaping boots for +agi

    SA+DE;
same as dex setup. waiting on pcc to make it any different.
    Ta+ ws:
same as TA+DE only garrulous ring on and chiv chain on for acc and storetp.

I've tested meat vs sushi before and found it does essentially the same damage but that was before i got my skadi peices. would carbonara be a good thing for reducing hits to 100tp atm or should i just leave my food alone?( i hit 99tp a few times but i think that was my failed attempts to sneak in skill chains for bonus damage(was mostly spamming but if i saw a war ready to rampage in 2-3 secs i would evisceration the mob for distortion to proc)
Should i change to af+1 pants during TA and maybe TA+WS? Should I only do that in situations where my atk actually reaches over 600+ during TA or SA like during this pt?
Can anyone figure out exactly why i did that high since i know im not a shitty thf but that was way higher in the damage race than i expected? I figured i'd need at least a mandau (or windsday for my mighty knife)to even do what i did in that pt
What choices on my gear could be easily fixed no matter how obscure or silly(or obvious for that matter since alot of the time the obvious choice is the beast one)? i wanna see all the options. I like situational gear since it means i just have to carry the gear around until the situation comes up and i get to gain a gear upgrade for little effort(eg lightning ring)
Judging from my currrent acc how much more acc would i need to reliably eat meat with it being a noticable difference instead of simply a way to not tank until I ws?
how much atk can generally = 1 agi during TA and Ta+WS on a thf?

I have some questions concerning my drg im leveling atm and choices for it but i think this is more than enough crap for one post. I also probably forgot other questions but I'm busy in dynamis- glacier atm.
