A few random questions:

1. If I use man eater which has the latent effect, does the latent effect also apply to my off hand weapon?
2. Can I give my NPC a sentinel/genbu shield?
3. Does an extra 2% make a difference if the current haste set up is 11%?
4. If a thf get aggro by a mob (aggros by sight) and uses hide, does it lose aggro?

as for #2, i've never been a big npc person. in fact i don't have one, but why on earth would you give a genbu's shield to an npc? sentinel shield i'd understand, it's a size 3, etc etc, gives a little haste, but maybe it's because i want a genbu's shield that the luxury of giving one to an npc seems mind boggling to me(this coming from someone with a dalmatica and a genie weskit, so trust me, im not criticizing you personally).

No, you can't give them r/ex items. And damn, I wish i had the luck of your ls that was shitting Genbu Shields. tho hey dlegs/body i'm sure are not free lot in someone else's

Even if you could, npcs don't use the weapon's exact stats or even the same model. There's just a pre-selected progression; a list of items for each weapon type + shield that they go through, but the npc just generally gets better as you go through the progression. One of the great axes for example is Twicer, but the npc doesn't get to use the enchantment: double attack or any double attack boost from it.

it appears to be, excepting divine skill in place of elemental skill. i know myrla uses golliard cuffs on her banishes for both the MAB and the MAcc, and notices a significant difference. i wouldn't advocate giving whms novios to bump up their banish3s, but it does indeed seem to follow the same pattern. it's unclear, tho logic would dictate, that mnd would replace int for banish as well, fwiw.

1) pretty much everywhere except mire unless you like tping in an ohat, war gloves and SH.
2) im told p. head is nice for the acc and att, otherwise voyager sallet. as for legs, the ashu talif legs that i can't spell have 4 str on them, otherwise don't know. someone wiser must have a better answer.
3) the latter, in fact, i'd argue dex > att > acc if you're eating sushi
4) in absence of a ws when just TA, yes.

3) If you're stacking SA or TA with DE you're doing it wrong. Acc>Attack>Dex for DE, Dex>Attack>Str for SA, Agi>Attack>Str for TA.
4) Again, stacking TA+WS is fail.

If you're getting TP every 30 seconds or less, you could put a TA WS now, 30 seconds later SA WS, 30 seconds later TA WS again, wouldn't the TA'D WS get more of a benefit from Assassin than TA by itself, or an unstacked WS?

Nice item indeed - gotta keep an eye on that. There seems no market for it yet prolly because ppl have no clue what it does. I think ill get one for the instaomgpanicuse no equip timer.

I didn't feel this was important enough to necro-bump the enmity testing thread, but I have a couple odd observations I need help understanding.

1. I was pling a friend to help them learn blu spells. I had hate from previous cures and I selected cure from the menu and just put the curser on her. I had not hit enter yet and the mob turned and started swinging at me. It wasn't a macro with gear swaps either. Fluke?

2. Leveling my lvl 12 smn on ep mobs I would send carby to pull and then swing my staff to make the kills go faster since they were ep. A couple of times carby would get his first hit then I would get mine. Carby's hit would be for more damage and the mob would still turn and start swinging at me. Do avatars not get the pulling enmity?

btw: I have no merits or +enmity gear at all. And yes I am posting about meleing on smn with my title as "melee smn". I don't do that in parties.

Enmity is decreased with damage taken. The mob hit your friend, your friend lost enough enmity so that the hate you'd amassed from the previous cures was greater than your friend's, the mob turned. That's my take on it, anyway.

I don't have the link on hand, but there is an extensive enmity testing thread in Advanced. Explains a great deal about how it works.

I had read all enmity testing thread but I don't pl much and am not used to it. I was only using cure, not cureV, so my CE was maybe 2. It had also been a little while since my last cure but my VE could very well not have degraded faster than hers due to the damage. I had not thought of that. It could have been just coincidence.

I think you misunderstand how the hate from Cures work. If you Cure (1-4) for any amount of HP, you gain CE and VE based on the amount of HP cured. However, if you cure for 0, you only get 1 CE. This is probably where your confusion comes from, since the testing used cures for 0 HP in order to find the CE/VE values of other spells.
