Basically, just run.If you're a PLD, voke/flash (or just flash, if you're /nin) and use your JAs accordingly as normal. I can't give you too much tips if you're a WAR or NIN, seeing as I'm neither of those things, but the WARs and NINs I've seen use voke, JAs (in the WARs case) and enfeeb ninjutsus (in the NINs case) to hold hate. Running him around the poles in the room is a big help if you don't have any movement speed items. Stacking up on enmity is also good. It's very easy, really. What can mess you up is if you get Bound and your mages aren't quick enough about erasing you.
what she said. kirin paths like a cow. anything in his way he'll take a major detour around, so if you bank close to the pillars, barring running out of running space, he'll never catch you. + move speed only makes it easier. only 2 things are a real threat, him catching you while you stop to cast/ja and binding you, or a sleepga after which he waltzes up and shows you the door. barring those, you can run around the room mooning him all the way and he shouldn't be much of a threat.Originally Posted by Lexa

And about Kirin, yeah... it's really, really easy. All the main points have been covered.
thank you for the help now i have 1 more Q. I saw somewhere that it's possible to like make kirins tp moves get stunned with that "out of range" thing over and over, is there any specific technique to that or does running around the pillars cause that?
The idea is that once Kirin makes his way around the pillar, you're already as far as you can possibly be in a straight line away from him. His moves vary in windup time and effective range, so Tail Smash and Deadly Hold, which have short windup timers but also short range should rarely land, likewise Heat Breath has a very long range but also a very long windup, so that shouldn't ever land. The other two, Great Whirlwind and Great Sandstorm have long range but medium windup, so those are the ones I find lands most often, especially after the SW pillar which is easy to make a mistake and have him not path around the pillar.Originally Posted by shaddix
When he stops to cast a spell or is stunned after attempting a TP move, if you go too far he won't go around the pillar but rather cut across in a straight line to you, which is when you are most likely to be in range of a subsequent TP move. It just takes a little practice and experience to figure out how not to be so far that he'll cut between the pillar, but not too close that you'll be in range of his next one even if you force him around. It's a little trickier than it sounds at first because of how quickly he moves you still kinda have to stay ahead of him. Sometimes it's even better to move back in a few steps while he's casting or immobile if you notice him turn like he's going to be moving right for you instead of for the other side of the pillar.
I hope I didn't make "run around in a circle for 20 minutes" sound too overly complicated here, but I was trying to be as detailed as possible.
thank you for the excellent reply! i am giving this a shot in the next week or so hopefully i will get the hang of it fast :D

Which one should I use for rampage with maneater/ridill? My accuracy lately is never capped, and I was thinking about going for Ares's gauntlet to free some space in my inventory (I will be able to store warrior af2 if I stop using the hand in my "defense/survival" set).
Alk would probably the best when my accuracy is capped, but it never is. How much damage am I looking at if I lose 3 and 7 str to increase my accuracy?
Heca Mitts are fantastic for Rampage, I find them to be superior to Alky Bracelets especially if you are having acc troubles. Ares looks like a decent alternative but I think Heca would perform better.
Ares gauntlets seem more like a steel cyclone or meat setup peice(for rampage) to me than anything.
gaining 10 acc at the cost of 3 str isnt that bad of a deal since you can stuff even more str in somewhere else thanks to them.
Aka shit is situational.
What is Bravura's hidden effect? <_< Like Apocalypse's Haste or w/e
defense down on mob and less damage taken to the war after ws used.
Does Bravura WS's defense down effect stack with other defense down effect (angon, dia3, etc) ?Originally Posted by Wolfknight
Is it possible to lowman Bahamut v1? What is the smallest number of people you'd take in and anyone have any strategy advice? Thanks in advance!
You can do it with 6 stupidly easy. He's not hard at all. Never bothered to fight it with too few, but I imagine you could do it with two melee/nins, a bard, and a white mage w/ Shellra V and Bar merits.
If I'm from Windurst [s] and have not done any quest/mission/campaign battle from Bastok [s], can I purchase AN gear from the NPC?
One more thing add, how do I change the position of "recast" plug in?
Dia 1/2/3 yes but I think it can overwrite angon(depends on time left and tp used) I need to catch our war on to test it more though; and overwrites all blu defense downs and acid bolts.Originally Posted by sugo
Question about Poison I.
How does the damage on this scale? I know Poison II caps at 10 HP/tick, but what about Poison I? This is based solely on Enfeebling Skill and has nothing to do with INT right?
I'm interested just to see how useful Poison I would be for SCH since it can't get Poison II. Also, the duration is 30 seconds and can't be increased?
If you belong to Windy, you can't purchase Bastok items, if that is what you are asking. I had to transfer to Sandy from Windy for Iron Ram gear.Originally Posted by fobber

Also, question of my own. STR+12 Acc+10 (Heca) vs. STR+4 DEX+4 (Blue Cotehardie) for Shark Bite as a THF? Leaning towards Cotehardie when I stack it with SA and Heca when stacked with TA...
