Merit question:

Elvaan. NIN and DRK in mind. Debating: 4 HP/MP merits, or full HP? MP obviously with NIN/DRK in mind, HP with zerg in mind.

4/4 or 6/2 hp/mp if you run alots small group with your nin/drk, where you always got only one kind of refresher.

if you only use nin/drk at the situation where you able to get rdm+brd kind of setup all the time, just go for full hp then.


I do merit 2mp on my char, as elv nin/drk too, but this is due to that I also got my blm lvled

I read that each 5% of TP on a WS like Raging Rush or Ramapge increases the chance of critical by 1%.

I'm wondering, since Warrior Group II merits are so lackluster, if I should merit Savagery. I can't really see too many uses for Tomahawk, since the defense down is only situationally useful and most difficult mobs wouldn't take any effect from it. Also I don't want to really carry around the item for it.

Obviously I plan on meriting Warrior's Charge, but Aggressive Aim is obviously shit and Tomahawk doesn't seem to be very good either. So would it be worth it to merit Savagery so that I could gain another 6% critical hit rate during Raging Rush or Rampage (while Warcry is active)?

30 Tp for Steel Cyclone too, getting a 300% WS at 170% with Savagery+Mbhuj is neat.

A question of my own, I've been told that the TP bonus from Savagery is halved if it's someone elses warcry on you, anyone got more info about that?

Tomahawk is just too limited for my taste, War AF+1 is made of fail suck and lose, so I don't have much interest in Limbus since I got my ABC items already, and without Elemental Limbus, about the only other use I can see for Tomahawk is a few Nyzul setups, a little in Salvage I think, and like one HNM that doesn't utterly ignore it.

I need some help with Ranger's "Stealth Shot". The description says -10 Enmity for next shot.

Does that mean that the next shot will generate 10 less enmity than it normally would? Or does it mean that my next shot will reduce any enmity I've built up (Including that of the shot itself) by 10?

Also, given how marksmanship doesn't have the STR modifiers on it's WS, would I be better off stacking AGI or just sticking to STR in a general WS Build (No Osode, no S.Kote available) assuming use of Slug Shot primarily?

For Ranged, even if it doesn't have a STR mod on the WS, think of 2 STR as increasing your base damage by 1. I don't think its ever efficient to use AGI over STR for damage for Ranged.

I believe that it was Aurik or Divisortheory that suggested there was a difference for one-handed and two-handed weapons for the Crit mod. I believe one-handed started lower (at 0% for 100TP) and progressed slower than two-handed weapons.

If I understand correctly, party members get 50% of the bonus from YOUR Warcry, but you shouldn't get any bonus from another party member's Warcry unless they have Savagery too.

So you'd recommend meriting it? I probably won't buy a Martial Bhuj so the SC thing isn't important. I have Rampager and Perdu Voulge and intend on spamming RR for most instances, SC for harder stuff.

No.
Ranged attack use fSTR2. every 2 STR increment gives 1 base damage (compared to 4STR on melee attack) on normal shot and WS, while on AGI, you need 3~4 AGI to increase 1 base damage on WS.

Tamas is fine for BLU until the levels where stat mods make a huge difference. Early on MP is a major problem anyways.

You can learn spells from besieged and probably campaign IF your self/party/alliance gets the killshot.

A page or two late, but I was just thinking. I mean, I *know* Haub +1 is the correct answer, I have one myself.... but why?

Let's say for NIN, I can understand on WS that Haub +1 is preferred. But for TP, aside from the -HP if you are eating sushi how is Shura Togi +1 that much different from Haub +1?

Just looking for a little insight, thanks.

(My guess is the answer fails somewhere along the lines of NIN never hitting the accuracy 'cap' even with sushi, so the added accuracy/DEX from Haub +1 wins out.)

I'm pretty sure you get the full bonus from yours, and party members get 1/2+you get 1/2 from their Warcry, (so 30 at full merits, 15 from other warcries) but I'm not even totally sure party members get the TP bonus effect.

Mbhuj rawks for all sorts of things, after I got used to having one, I regretted selling it til I got one back.

Also: any suggestions for a way to set up testing to determine crit% per Tp% values? I have Mbhuj and such which can add the flat 100% TP if that would help.

On the HP/MP merit subject, I personally did 6/2 but that was way back in the day for a specific build(Citadel Buster), so that I could get full use out of Cassie Earring as Nin/War(I think I used Osode too or something).

Max MP is only good for like....Blm solo'ing if it gives you just enough for that last spell to kill something, otherwise your magic pool is only as good as what you can recover. If I didn't have 150 other things I need to merit first I'd convert those 2 MP over to HP. Then again, I'm 66 Blm now and rising....

In short, full HP.

I used purdu on THF after I sold Ziska's. I liked it and I'd bet it has latents like the rest of the purdu line. No idea exact stats or how to check, if there even is a way on ranged.

Wouldn't recommend it though if you don't exp in Aht Urgan areas ALOT and have plans on other purdu stuff down the line. I had tons of IS though from besieged and used it on stuff I couldn't use but might have one day. Sword, Luzaff's Ring, x-bow, somthing else I forget.

Grand Crossbow looks like an option, then there is always the cheap Staurobow. Perdu is good if you have ISP to burn.

I use a Starubow on THF, mainly because it was cheap, and I could use it when my DRK needed to pull something without using magic.
I used to use Ziska's, but once I got my Homam Gambrias I went back to Starubow. I guess if you need the r acc I'd spend the money on Ziska's, but with the r acc equip I macro in for shots (Vision Earring, Merman's Ring, Sniper's Collar, Pln. Seraweels) I figured the +4 AGI would payout nicer in the end. Plus the Demon Killer is Jesus for Dynamis - Xarc.

Depends on your total haste amounts and whether you're eating sushi or not, but at earlier levels I'd go for Acc if possible/eating meats > Kicks with Strike sub > Haste if ya got em (I had Sarutobi's so I used em just cause) > Att

Personally I don't think it's worth at lower lvls until you get to merit out Kick Attack rare + obtain Dune Boots/Wu long+1s. I'd stick with the 3% haste as well, swap in fed kyahan for WSs or rse2, no clue which race you are. People argue about this "feet" slot even at 75 with options like Usukane feet etc ... it's up to you <<

Yes as long as it's EU version. Friend had to get German version and then used English version for install
