Well the way I fail at pulling Xarc, it tends to proc at least once or twice per pull.Originally Posted by shihei
Hello!, Newbie Forumer and Rdm here.
Would Dagger Main Hand(Martial Knife)/Joytoy be best to kill things for damage? If not, would it be best for something like farming? Or should I just stick to Sword-Sword?
Joy/Justice?
Evis can rawk, and you get it natively, since I don't think Rdm/Nin gets Vorpal sadly.
Rdm/Blu does get Vorpal though, and with stuff like Gambu's shield and Coccoon, you won't miss Utsu on most things.
For a Dagger/Sword build I would prolly go Blau/Joyeuse. The extra attack and accuracy is nice, and Evisceration can do some good numbers. Plus if you have one of those oshit moments on RDM, you can always Energy Steal for some MP. If you want to do Sword/Sword, your best bet would be Joyeuse/Justice.
I always go /Thf w/JoyToy when farming on RDM since Stoneskin and Phalanx absorb most everything and Ice Spikes paralyzes everything else.Originally Posted by Bloomonkey
I don't like slicing my profit margins by spending Gil on Nin tools thanks to RDMs podunk evasion.
I like to kill quick(ish) when farming so I tend to stick to JoyToy for the Double-Attack, though if I had a Blau I'd probably use that due to the low Delay+Latent.
That said if you're farming harder stuff you may need /nin for survivability.
/blu for 'coon+Phalanx+SS would be nice on harder stuff too, especially with the added bonus of access to Vorpal Blade but I'm too lazy to go chasing after spells.
/drk is nice too since you get to keep Drain/Apir get Attack Bonus, Stun, and Vorpal.
For full-on DD purposes /nin I'd go Blau/JoyToy since I have Dagger Merits and I prefer Dagger's low delay and Evisceration, though Justice/Joy is probably just as nice if you're a Sword fan. Don't have a Justice Sword so I can't say how it matches up personally.
Just don't forget that if you're looking to maximise your DD potential to actually have a DD setup.
Full AF+SH does not a DD RDM make ._.
Hello, first post here ^^
What are the most important Stats for Raging Rush?
And how much TP does Raging Rush give exactly?
A general rule of thumb is that STR is always best for WSes, unless you can actually get enough of a modifier to overpower the STR you could get in that slot. And of course, if you can't get STR in a slot, then get the modifier there instead. In this case, the stat you want is simple: Raging Rush's only modifier is STR, so STR is the only stat you want. If you are wondering where I found out it's modifier, otherwiki is helpful. http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Raging_RushOriginally Posted by SilentGrief
As for the TP question, WSes give back the TP you normally get for a hit with the weapon you are using. For multi-hit WSes, you then get another 1 tp per extra hit that lands. Assuming your weapon is around 504 delay, that's 13.7 tp + 2 tp if both hits lands, therefore 15 tp on your screen. Another note: you can miss your first hit and still land one or both of the other two. In that case, you still only get the 1 tp per hit for the 2nd and 3rd hits.
well, if you cant get any str equip for that slot. You can try to use +acc/dex for the slot, or maybe the +atk.Originally Posted by Ryushii
DEX isn't a direct modifier for Raging Rush, but I highly recommend stacking DEX in any slot that you can't get STR in because it will affect the amount of critical hits that land.
Thanks for the answers, I have one more question.
Pallas Bracelets or something else for RR? (At lvl 60)
At level 60, there really isn't much to work with there. Pallas will do, and the crit penalty you'll take isn't that big of a deal at 60.Originally Posted by SilentGrief
If two weaponskills have two elements associated with them, and primary > primary elements will not make a skillchain, but both primary > secondary and secondary > primary will, which SC is made?
Is there a "where to party at this lvl" guide?
FFXI atlas has an XP mob locator, somewhere I read you dont want camps with mobs 10+ levels above yours, Lesser Colibries being an exception.

Missing a few spots, but very nice nonetheless.
Thanks :3
A couple weeks ago, I read something somewhere on the forums here, I don't remember where, about h2h skill affecting your base dmg and not just your acc/atk. How exactly does this work?
what would be suggested for drk Tier I merits? (besides LR recast)
LR recast? you mean desperate blow?
I'd do 5 Souleater recast, and 5 Desperate blow
