Who could have killed them? From what I saw the 2nd time I watched it the bullet or whatever hit Carl went out the back, otherwise there wouldn't be blood coming out the back right? In the preview thing they said someone will die (as in one person).. and I think it was only Ruossou sadly. I'm pretty sure Ben sent someone from the Temple to get rid of them both and only take in Alex, I am hoping it was Richard Alpert since he is coming back to the show.

Can you believe he was going to leave for good to film his own show? I am glad that went belly up though, there is so much of his character I want to know. Particularly his immortality, his past, and connection to the island.

I picked up the same thing, but my thought is that it was Carl who died, Rousseau may very well live. I think there's more to her character they haven't explored yet.

I seriously doubt we've seen the last of Rosseau. You know there is going to be an episode that tells the story of her & her group arriving on the island, her pregnancy & the rest of them getting sick and dying. Sadly, I think goofy ol' Carl is a goner. As for the shooters, it's either A)The Others(Mikail perhaps?), B)Boat people or C)A new element. Knowing Lost, I'm going with option C.

Rousseau isn't dead. Her character and story has so much potential and generally has been unexplored. Especially since I consider her a main story character we haven't seen a flashback involving her, whatever we know are things that are told to us by other characters.

But Carl is dead, no one gives a shit about Carl.

I agree actually. Remember when Michael first boarding the boat in Fiji and he met Miles who said something along the lines of "everyone on here is hiding something"? I'm sure the captain has tabs on people for certain reasons. Also, Desmond/Sayid got warnings of not to trust the captain in the past, meaning all this "I'M A GOOD GUY" shit is bs.

If I've learned anything from watching Lost it's not to take things immediately at face value. They said they were killing someone off and both her and Carl have been shot, Carl was pretty much confirmed dead by Rousseau. Alex couldn't/didn't confirm Rousseau's death so I'm led to believe that she isn't dead unless someone says so. Edit: Also, if you look at the wound on Carl, it's a lot more graphic than it is on Rousseau, I didn't get a good look but I didn't see anything major or a location of where she was shot, so it could've been something relatively minor like an arm or shoulder.

Talk about a lame episode. For those saying that Sayid shouldn't have trusted the captain, who did he get that information from? Michael. There's no way he could trust that.

Think it's kind of obvious that Ben had those 2 shot. After that look he had on his face when Carl had his arm around his daughter, then telling them to go to some temple we haven't seen before, I was like uh oh...

My guess is that Ben staged it. He more than anyone wouldn't want anyone to find the island. Also figure that Michael and Walt were sort of in hiding once they were back in New York (at least according to what his mom was saying...stuff about not being able to tell anyone they're alive, etc.) Ben probably told Michael to shut his yap or they'll put them back on the island.

Michael gave that the warning. We still can't tell if the captain is bad, or if the order's Michael received from Ben are bad.

Pretty sure Michael want to do good, but he is definitively being manipulated like he was before

I don't know if she's dead or not, but they have said they will feature Roussou's past around the time of / or before the Purge and it would be eye-opening.
