    Re: LOST Season 4

[spoiler:12wlia29]i'm trying to piece together the timeline so it doesn't involve time travel, but honestly i think there has to be some form of time travel beyond the psychosis-version that desmond experienced.

we see ben turn the wheel after falling down the ladder and hurting his arm. we know ben's arm is freshly injured once reaching Tunisia via a previous episode.. so he turns the wheel, and then we know that he appears in tunisia, and shortly after he sees SAYID already there.
sayid was with Jack in the raft with kate and sun, etc. when Ben turned the wheel and hurt his arm just a few moments beforehand.
so how is it that, he's in tunisia and Sayid is already there, if there isn't an element of not only moving the island, but also moving time as well... when turning the wheel either:

A.) they screwed up the editing of the timeline, and Ben actually waits a long time after reaching tunisia before meeting Sayid there, even though that episode insinuates strongly that Sayid is already in Tunisia at the time that Ben is ported there via the Orchid

B.) there's time travel involved when moving the island to another location, unfortunately I think the time travel itself only affects the person turning the wheel, the Island itself is probably just "Moved", the user of the wheel is what actually travels ahead in time[/spoiler:12wlia29]

also, why are we using spoiler tags in a Lost thread, when all the current episodes have airead?

walking into threads like these with the title blatantly displayed up the top, you pretty much have to expect the discussion to be about the subject.

Good use of spoiler tags :

    - Talking about episodes that haven't aired but you have the info about
    - Talking about a spoiler plot line / story in a game where you raced right to the end while people are still lagging behind

    - For example, a topic named "Best movies you've ever watched" , you make a post about "Kill bill" and then you put spoiler tags around the plot line you think would ruin it for people who have not watched it.

Not very good use of spoiler tags :

    - Talking about an episode that aired the day before in a topic all about the series
    - Talking about spoilers of a movie in a topic all about the movie.

    - For example, The topic's title is "Bridge to terebithia discussion" and you make entire posts lost in spoiler tags. (Note! This would be different if the topic title was "Bridge to terebithia" and the OP was just asking if the movie was good, if this is the case then yes, due to the context, spoiler tags would be appropriate).

also is it just me, or did claire have a full on american accent when she was talking to Kate?

Not sure if it's because she's been in the states and lost a lot of her aussie accent, or if it's because of the script.

    Re: LOST Season 4

To be technical, time traveling usually refer to the ability to go forth and back in time. A time jump toward the future could be explained easily by our physics with relavity, using movement close to the speed of light (or displacement in space). The way Dharma iniatiave presented their experiment make me think their "time traveling" is simply a jump forward using quantum physics and relativity. I would need to rewatch both episodes with time traveling bunnies tho, might be wrong.

Then there is the mind traveling in time issue that is probably representing the spiritual side of Lost. I doubt this one is explained by science entirely, even if it can be manipulated by it (Faraday's experiment).

If I had to take a guess, I'm going to say next two seasons are going to be about determinism versus free will. Destiny and unavoidable fate are already present, and the cast are probably going to try to figure a way to change it.

wafik, i just think that the Lost thread should be more of an Enter at your own Risk-thread, and shouldn't require spoiler tags unless they're from unaired episodes

this is different than the serenity/firefly spoiler mentioned a few days ago, as that was a spoiler outside the realm of it's own topic's thread (which there isn't)

but as far as lost goes, anything that's been aired to date should be fair game to not require spoiler tags, and if this is how we are approaching this then i misused the spoiler tags in my previous post

yup yup, I agree with it and posted something similar in sonomaa's sticky (which was more or less a copy/paste of my post 2 posts before this one).

I thought it was pretty awesome that Jack was blasting the Pixies in the last flash forward.

Why are people saying Jin is dead? Did you people watch this season at all? Doubt Michael is too.

Nah, Michael really is dead, was confirmed in an interview. He wasn't happy about it.

I dunno how you could dispute it though, he was right next to the damn bomb..

    edit: source

TV Guide: Did you know Michael was being killed off when you returned?
Harold Perrineau: I had no idea. It's like, what the hell? I came back for that?

To be honest, after Walt and Michael left on the little mini-boat from the island, they were dead to me. Any and every scene they were in from that point on felt forced and unnecessary. Good riddance, give your screen time to the good characters.

    Racist.

Also Michael is probably dead because Christian said "You can go now." which I translated as "You can die now." and so he did. Also, Jin is most likely dead too because the flash forward of Sun having her baby was mixed with a flash back of Jin bringing a gift to a client of Sun's father's. If you interpreted that scene any differently, you were 'doing it wrong'.

orrrrrr he can just not be off the island yet...

Just because he's not there for his child's birth doesnt mean he's dead. I think the flash back for jin brining the gift was to show that he was not going to be present for the birth.

I say that Michael is dead, he was on top of the fucking bomb. Jin, however, could have jumped ship or something before the explosion. After all, Feraday was headed back to the boat with his lil passanger boat--he could have easily came to the wreckage and scooped up survivors, ie. Jin.

I agree about Michael being dead for the same reason. In NY, Tom told Michael that he can't die cause the island won't let him. Then as mentioned above, Christian (Jacob's spokesperson) said he could go. Also, Harold only has himself to blame for getting killed. I'd be willing to bet he woulda had more scenes and decent parts (storywise) if he hadn't temporarily left at the end of Season 1 to cash in on his fame. But instead of staying around, he basically abandoned the show. Then when he saw how huge it was staying, he decided he wanted to come back. So yeah, I woulda killed him too. He should be glad he went out the way he did instead of dying to one of the Losties.

Jin's status is questionable. He wasn't right next to the bomb like Michael was, but rather on the deck near the end of the boat. So he could have got blown off the ship, still alive. There's also Sun's comment about seeing him and thinking he's still alive. It could just be wishful thinking on her part, but I'm thinking she's right.

One question I have that wasn't brought up yet (unless I missed it) is how much of the area around the Island gets moved with it? Were Daniel and the rescue boat people moved as well? Was the blown up freighter and wreckage moved with it? I'm thinking most likely, but who knows.

Re: Alternate Endings: I think the Desmond one would have had good potential, much more than Sawyer would have. But I wouldn't see a reason for Kate to dislike Desmond since it was partially because of him that they were rescued (Penny looking to find him).

Even if Jin survived he's fucked, the island is gone. I really hope Daniel made it with the island.

    Re: LOST Season 4

had the waited a couple more days, and told faraday and co to fuck off and go away, no one would have died =/

penny's boat would have shown up, and all would be well with the world

    im glad ben killed keemey, hated him with a passion, loved the fact that he got his in the end, and learned "do not fuck with ben.", i was loling pretty hard as his men were getting raped by the others. and when he thought he was all tough shit with sayid, then got capped by richard too awesome>.>;

one of my favorite eps of this season, next season should be interesing, and probably based on them going back to the island, with the help of Ben of course. and the whole Sun thing will come into a huge play next year i bet, more widmore vs ben with the other losties helping ben, and sun helping widmore for her own purpose

I am pretty sure Ben went into the future and got moved off the island. He said the person who moves the island can't come back. It seems, therefore, that he was moved into the future as the rest of the island and then spit out somewhere else. That would make sense.

Very interesting theory I read on Aaron's character, it seems dead on. Or well at least the best theory I've heard so far.

It might have already been mentioned as I haven't been following this thread as closely, sorry if it was! But if not:

*Note: Debated about keeping in spoiler tags or not. It's a discussion topic so it really shouldn't be, but personally I found the points to be so strong it's difficult to seriously consider any other options in its place now (I kind of regret reading it)... So I figured I'd rather be safe than sorry, don't want to ruin anyone's fun.
