Another great thing about flashforward is that they were running out of content for flashback, or at least, it's the impression I got. We know most character pretty well, and everything they would show us past this point would feel less important than what we know already.

Do we know who are the 6 person yet? Hurkey, Kate, Jack and who?

    Re: LOST Season 4

I'm really put off by the notion that most people think this new appearance of the near by boat and helicopters means that it will be a way that will free some of them from the island. I highly doubt that, in fact I think it's just more victims of the Islands ability to suck more people in. Gotta realize that we have no specific date of the time that the flash forwards are taking place. But we do know when this all started, in 2003, and going by the island scenes, I think only 4 months have passed, and I assume the island scenes are still in that year. So for all we know the flash forwards may be occurring in 2008/2009/2010. (Assuming this, because that is when the series is coming to an end) Which leaves a huge gap of time. Going by this theory I gotta conclude, no one is close to leaving the island, a lot of shit is still gonna happen on that Island, just because JJ Abrahms gave you some flash forwards and knowledge that they do get some people off, the island, doesn't mean it will happen soon.

My theory tho is this, Jack is getting closer and closer, more and more desperate to making the decision of knowing that he has to leave a lot of people behind knowing that it will be a 1 way ride. I really think the shows series finale will all come to that point, when Jack makes that decision. Thats why we have seen in the flash forwards their is a huge guilt bearing on his shoulders. He meets Hurley in the gym to make sure know one outside finds out the decision he made, and in the Flash that he has a beard we can pretty much tell that he has pretty much broken down with full on guilt. Could this be why Kate is so turned off by him in the end, by the choice he made, was Sawyer one of the sacrifices?

Anyways this is all speculation on my part. Shoot as many holes into it as you guys want.

Either way, LOST is back, GAME ON!

So nobody gets bothered about seeing something they don't want to know:

Apparently it's been confirmed the 6 are Jack, Kate, Hurley, Jin, Sun, and Sayid. Starting either in episode 2 or 3 we will see Sayid's flashforwards.

I really don't think so, there are so many unanswered questions. Especially things about Penny's father and his company. Henry Gale, his balloon was labeled with his name's company and he happened to land on the island. Same with Desmond's ship.. which that around the world competition was being held by the same company in question. I mean come on I know this isn't entirely coincidental, I think he has a lot to do with the people on the ship and the events in the future. A lot of unanswered questions about Jack's father also I really hope will surface soon, in flashbacks hopefully.

I wasnt talking about mystery in general, but character's backstory. Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Jack, Locke's past are all fleshed out already, and I cant imagine them adding a lot more. Of course there is a lot of mystery left, not as much about the character we know.

    Re: LOST Season 4

    1. What do the damn numbers mean? (I'm pretty sure the producers said this would never be answered)
According to the DHARMA Orientation video in the Lost Experience, the Numbers represent the core factors of the Valenzetti Equation, which claims to accurately predict when humanity will be extinguished. The broadcasting of the equation on a private frequency is based on real-life Numbers stations.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythology_ ... he_Numbers

    2. What's the rest of the deal with the dharma initiative? What about the original inhabitants of the island? Who the hell are they?
Most of them are dead after "the incident" where the Hostiles took over, unless you mean the off-island initiative, then we have not been shown anything about them. The original inhabitants of the island, well you have Richard, who is part of the "Hostiles" and well not much more information is known.

    3. Who the hell is Jacob?
He's been very closely hinted to being Jack's father, what Jacob's role is however, is unknown, aside from the amazing ability to sit in a chair.

    4. What the hell is the smoke monster?
Mr Eko saw it as a black cloud, so do a whole bunch of others on the island with "Impure hearts", the only person to have seen it as something good/white/holy/divine etc was John Locke. There hasn't been an episode specifically revolving the monster, the only thing was Mr Eko's episode however that was more about his brother than the monster.

    5. Is Jack's dad alive? Will Claire and Jack find out they are brother and sister?
    See Jacob!

There's so much I'd like to see answered, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. Producers these days think it's artsy to not tie up shows neatly after introducing a million plot-lines/side-stories. Always what worries me was how Alias started off an awesome show and JJ Abrams let the writers back themselves into a corner. The last few seasons were terrible. I hope Lost has learned from Alias' mistakes.
I have a feeling this won't be the case, as when they created Lost, they wrote a "Bible" for the show, which contains all the mythology of the island and such, all plots have to defer themselves to this.

Also this is an American writer, not Square Enix So by default us westerners like to "tell", JJ Abrams is a bit different, he'll leave some mystery I think for the intent of keeping people talking about lost (the best advertisement is you arguing about it with someone else, and more and more people chip in), but I don't think anything major is going to remain hidden, however I am planning for a lot of mystery un-answered / possibly answered by extra-curricular activities such as the ARG.

I wonder what the ratings are going to look like this time around. They had been in decline but a lot of blame was placed on its time slot (Wednesday, 10PM). Now its not only airing at 9PM on Thursday, its airing at a time when there are very few "new" episodes of any show (thanks writers strike) on TV.

    The show is just fantastic.

Ratings usually take a week to trickle in. Maybe.

Was Idol on? As much as hate to admit it, that damn show is a ratings juggernaut.
Otherwise, i'm sure Lost pretty much crushed everything in that time slot.

"LOST" ratings are in! Check them out and see how the new ABC drama "Eli Stone" and a 2-hour "Celebrity Apprentice" did, after the jump. Plus, did "LOST" hurt "Supernatural"?

The fourth-season premiere of ABC’s "LOST" delivered the best numbers in more than a year for the hit mystery drama last night, scoring 16.07 million viewers and lifting the network to an easy first-place finish on the first night of sweeps.

"LOST" also averaged a very strong 6.7 rating among adults 18-49, its best since its November 2006 fall finale. "LOST" also made a 2-hour "Celebrity Apprentice" hit season low and it gave "Eli Stone" a strong push helping it win its timeslot.

Overall, "LOST" helped ABC win the first night of sweeps, a rare treat - it happened for the second time since 1991. The third season finale of "LOST" in May 2007 pulled in a much weaker 13.65 million viewers.

    ABC:
8:00pm Lost: Past, Present & Future (13.1 million)
    9:00pm Lost (16.07 million)
    10:02pm Eli Stone (11.62 million)

    CBS:
    8:00pm CSI: NY (R) (8.8 million)
    9:00pm CSI: (R) (11.9 million)
    10:00pm Without a Trace (R) (10.4 million)

    NBC:
8:00pm My Name Is Earl (R) (5.3 million)
    8:30pm The Office (R) (4.5 million)
    9:00pm Celebrity Apprentice (7.8 million)

    Fox:
8:00pm Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (10.6 million)
    9:00pm Don't Forget the Lyrics! (10 million)

    CW:
    8:00pm Smallville (3.82 million)
    9:00pm Supernatural (2.99 million)

OO thats funny Smallvilles numbers are that low. I watch the show only because someone talked me into it.. and I got into it a few seasons ago.

I dunno if I wanna read who the 6 are or just be surprised.

    9:00pm Supernatural (2.99 million)
ahaha stupid show. Horrible acting by "brothers" that look nothing remotely alike in supernatural scenarios and cliche ways to deal with them. Can't wait till the show is canned, I hate it with a passion.

    Re: LOST Season 4

Before I go on -- I haven't read a post in this thread for fear of spoilers. I'm new to Lost, just started watching it with the school semester, and I've watched Season 1 so far. I'm on Episode 3 of season 2 right now, and I just screamed "LEEEEEEELAAAAAA" after Locke's meeting.

    All is good.

I was going "oh shit" at every scene pretty much from like the final two episodes of season 1, and then every scene from the first two episodes of season 2. A lot of the stuff is predictable (well, like the "runner" who gives Jack advice by happenstance showing up again), but then again I guess because such a central theme of the show is fate -- hell, with so many characters, you have to make every new introduced character immediately relevant to the story line. But i digress. I'm episode binging like no other...

Calling that predictable isn't fair There is no possible way you guessed they would find Desmond in the hatch. Sure, it was obvious that character was going to pop somewhere else, but you can't guess how or where.

You're right about fate being important to the story tho. Every little things are linked to something else, and there isnt many scenes that have no impact on the rest of the story. Enjoy season 2 and 3, I thought they were much better than first one.

I'm fairly certain they've said that no flashbacks (or flashforwards for that matter now I guess) have been exclusive to one character, which means that there is atleast one more past/present character that is affected, or a character they have yet to introduce us to in the present.

Actually, that's the one thing I did completely guess correctly. That, and Locke being the one who hits Sa'id over the head in the beginning of the series. I was completely off with the boat crap, although I knew it wasn't Sawyer who poisoned Michael.

It's hard to say all this though given that-as surprising as it might be-I too am not free from confirmation bias

If I wasn't watching it in my free time, I'd start taking notes/guessing some outcomes while watching episodes. Hell, I'm episode binging in its purest form, there's no time for thinking.

BTW, the Lawyer that Michael's ex-gf hired is SUCH a bitch...she got under my skin with like the first sentence she said.

So is the character played by (i think) Michelle Rodriguez...she's such an annoying actress, of the no-talent-assclown variety.
