LOST Season 4

Yea, they were flash-backs of the people that came to the island before they were 'recruited' I guess is the word. The organization that hired Naomi (and the new comers) appears to be the same group that 'faked' the plane. Everybody else in the world believes it has been found, ignoring the fact that everybody minus Miles who came had doubts (that were showed anyway). It also appears that it was good Naomi died, as it looked like she was being ordered to either not rescue or kill any survivors that were found? He emphasized several times when she asked 'There were no survivors' 'But if there were?' 'There were NO survivors.'

Edits: Where would they get that picture of Ben? I thought he said he had never been off of the island since he came? Though I guess Juliet said it best, he's either lying or telling the truth.

I am guessing that the four are recruited by Darma to get a hold of Ben since he was responsible for the deaths of their employees. I don't think that lawyer guy really works for Oceanic, unless Darma and Oceanic are closely tied as suspected in the past. But why they need an anthropologist, a psychic and a physicist? And a drunk pilot?

And why was the pilot all beat up? He landed the helicopter safe and sound. When did he get injured? Did I miss that?


I think I need to watch the Nickelodeon version of Lost because this made-for-adults version is giving me a headache.

WOW. Holy shit this is just all so intense, the same incredibly scary black man in the first episode was in this. Why in the hell would they want Ben? Ben has been there most of his life. How would they even know he existed? I know sometimes people are sent back to the outside world to do things,(getting Juliette to come along) but I seriously doubt Ben would go himself. Who could have possibly been the spy?! Damn so many questions! I love how Ben completely dodged the Black smoke monster. He has been everyones punching bag for a while, I almost feel bad for him.

I also didn't think Alex would have cared if they were about to execute him, well I guess she sort of considers him a father but probably in a way Ben saw his. Too bad no sign of Jacob/Christian yet, I really, really can't wait to see how that unfolds. It's sad that it's probably going to just be a side to the rest of the main course the writers set up for us this amazing season.

I had to work today during the episode, I was incredibly bummed. But downloading it in 720p, watching it on my HDTV was well worth it over watching it on my crappy A/V connected Digital Cable Receiver.

After watching it.. and looking back at Through The Looking Glass' flashforward, there is no fucking way I am going to accept everyone one on the island losing to these fags. Special, unique or not, we have Sayid, Jin, Jack, Sawyer, Locke, I am pretty sure the Smoke Monster and Jacob would also get involved in this. I pray that the writers won't let these random ass people win and end up throwing in another twist.

If people haven't watched it, there's a Dharma orientation video on the LOST website. It got put up sometime over the winter, to pump us up about LOST. It explains very clearly why there's a Polar Bear in the desert, buried deep enough to require excavation.

The Dharma Initiative is involved in time travel, obviously. Unfortunately, as with anything man has to do with time travel, we must learn the unfortunate consequence that you can't just travel in time. But also in space.

I thought last night was awesome when Jack winked at Kate. I expected a different turn out to the situation but was still pretty sweet to see Juliet and Sayid there guns ablazing. Vincent with the tracker on him was a good turn around too.


I REALLY wanted to hear something about smokie but well was still pretty cool seeing Ben be like yeah, I know all about these tool bags. The more Ben is involved, the more I do tend to like him. Wasn't really surprised to see the bullet proof vest though on that chick. I had a bad feeling about them though.

I'm beyond excited for next weeks episode though. This season has the makings of awesome written all over it.

Ben is so fucking awesome. One of the best villains ever, if we can call him like this. Great episode in overall.

Only thing that bother me in is the reason why Sawyer left. It felt kinda forced. Oh well, not everything can always be perfect I guess.

I did have a question about the episode though concerning when Ben shot that woman. Did he purposely shoot her in the chest knowing she was wearing a vest just to expose her? This would imply he is a good enough shot to get her in the face if he wanted the kill shot. Or, was he trying to kill her and she was unknowingly wearing a vest?

If anything I think he was trying to expose that she was indeed wearing a vest (note why locke looked back at Ben after he opened her shirt up revealing the vest).


The whole Oceanic faking the wreck thing makes sense but it makes you question as to exactly why they don't want the world to know that their are survivors.

Yeah, watching Sayid emerge with that "fuck you im the shit" look on his face while starting down the barrel of the rifle was one of my favorite moments in the series thus far. So, so badass.

I think Ben intentionally shot her to reveal the vest, he is a very good shot. He shot Locke out of nowhere very fast and it went through where his kidney should have been. Ben knew this, he knows every detail about everyone which is how he owned that girl in the face at the end of the episode revealing everything about the crew. As for the person on the freighter.. I really hope it's Richard Alpert.

Why would he shoot twice if he wanted to show she had a vest, once would have been enough. 2 shots in the chest is to kill, you don't have to aim for a headshot in real life as it doesn't offer bonus points.

I think you people are reading into things...I think Ben genuinely wants these people dead or gone, as he wanted Locke dead.

The whole kidney thing was to show that everything happens for a reason, and what Locke viewed as a bad thing before, ended up saving his life. I think Ben intended to kill him, you don't shoot someone because you know he doesnt have a kidney, leave him in a ditch just because "lol I know he doesnt have a kidney so he won't die." You don't take that risk if you intended for the person to live through it.

Though not the same situation with the girl, I agree with Xavier, Locke looked back at Ben because he was pissed that he didn't listen to Sawyer. Ben's look was of dissapointment, just a blank "I fucked up" stare. If he thought Ben was just trying to expose them, then why was he about to kill him later on? Locke definitely believed that Ben was a danger for sure. Granted Locke could just have been faking so Ben would give up information, but that's not how Lost works. EVERYTHING the actors do in this show means something, how they act out a part, whether it feels scripted or not, their expressions and everything. Locke seemed genuine in his intents to kill him, and I believe he was.

Like in last episode, where Kate took the phone from Jack. Him and her never agree on things, and suddenly she becomes very submissive, agreeing with him and acting like he's right. Then when she hugs him, Ben has this "umm wtf are they doing look" on his face. All of these things at the moment made me realize something was up, not because of the typical "things are never what they seem rule of TV shows" but by actual visual and body language clues that the creators drop through this show. I love Lost, because NOTHING happens without having valid reasons behind it, regardless of whether not it's brought to light later on, or hinted at subtly during the actual scene.

Ben probably wanted Locke dead in season 3, but was scared of Jacob's reaction. He looked more panicked than anything.

Man, I loved how the writers kind of toyed w/ my mind during Ben's rant too. He sits there saying he has valuable information, and starts rattling off the biography of every so called rescuer, amazing everyone. Locke or Sawyer, I forget which, asks the obvious question how he could possibly know all that, and I'm sitting there going OH SHIT BOUT TO LEARN SOME SCI-FI MIND READING SHIT, and Ben almost comically says "because I have a man on their boat!".

I dunno, you may be right...to be honest I don't think you shoot someone expecting them to live. I do know he knows Locke's background, but I think it's also very possible he just happened to shoot him there. I see where you're coming from though, and at the moment, it could be either version. Just the way Locke said it made me feel as if he got something good out of a bad thing, not that Ben never intended to kill him. That's what I got out of how he told the story about how he lived.
