    PC build

I'm planning on building a new PC when the new Penryns come out. I plan on using this system for mostly gaming and hope to OC after getting the system all set up.

Here's what I'm planning on getting:

    Case: Antec P180 (Already purchased.)
    CPU: Q9450
    Heatsink: Tuniq Tower
    Motherboard: Abit IP35 Pro
    Memory: Corsair 2gb TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX
    HD: Samsung Spinpoint 750GB
    PSU: OCZ GameXStream 700W
Videocard: EVGA 8800GT 512mb (mostly for step up program)
    OS: XP

My budget is pretty flexible, just nothing too expensive. I'm still wavering on the motherboard. Trying to decide between the Gigabyte P35 DS4, Asus P5K-E, and Abit IP35 pro.

Anything is still open to change at this point before I purchase. I really want stability and being able to get a good OC.

Looks good, might want to add another gig of RAM in there if you plan on multitasking a lot/future-proofness.

    ""Memory: Corsair 2gb TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX""

    Isn't that considered 4gigs?

    If you're going for future proofness I'd suggest a DDR3 motherboard/RAM

Oh, yay for skimming. In that case, make sure you go with a 64bit OS.

I'll eventually upgrade to vista. But not until sp1 at the earliest. E8400 is out and people are oc'ing it easily to 4ghz and above. So tempting...

Get a real board. The DS4 or P5K-e WIFI or higher are good. The DFI Blood Iron is another great P35 board.

Get a 2x2GB kit. There are G.Skill ones on Newegg for about $100. 4 (or 3.5 in 32bit) GB of RAM is fucking awesome.

Everything looks good though, I have that PSU, but I probably won't buy it again (bought it when they can out, for $160).

Oh, also, buy a Seagate or WD. Samsung I'd stay away from.
