If it's wind damage wouldn't garuda and/or shiva resist the hell out of it? Why not just test it that way?
Because the barspell test is more conclusive?Originally Posted by Havok

The barspell test has already proven it, see Suiram's math.
I don't understand how this thread isn't over yet.
lock it!
But what does it mean when faf/nid does wing and you take no dmg and no blind randomly?? I've had it happen 2-3 times out of 24242429892 wings so it's probably some random glitch. It happened the other day while watching a lulz ls sleep nid 15 times. One wing just didnt hit me while everyone around me took dmg.
There's a cap on the number of people that can be hit by wing, which seems to be somewhere around 100. It's not that you got hit and took no damage, it's just that it didn't hit you at all. It's as if the game randomly selects 100 or whatever people within range to be hit, and rest are granted a reprieve. You're usually wing-free for a few so long as you don't move, then as people in the pit start to warp and log out you'll start getting hit by it again. It seems to happen more often if you pick a far corner, but on particularly busy days you can be standing on its foot fighting it and not get hit.Originally Posted by Tdizzle

I think the same logic works with Spike Flail, for those 'oh so special' times Nidhogg or a disputed Fafnir decides to lay waste to the whole Aery.
I'm pretty sure Fafnir's flail is alliance-only. And not in the post-MPK-patch way that everything of Fafnir's is alliance-only if you don't have hate on it, but rather that it's always just hit the ally of the target, regardless of how many people were on the list. Unless they changed it when they changed mob AoE so that it works the same as other AoEs were made to work (hitting any person on the hate list and any person in their party or ally).Originally Posted by ronin sparthos

Is indeed how it works, I cured a member of a fellow shell (not to mpk, just to help out because there was nobody else there) and the other people in my party were getting hit with wing as well as myself.Originally Posted by Suiram
Uh.. you are missing the point. We already know Hurricane Wing will hit everyone with hate if anyone in the alliance has hate.Originally Posted by Breemer
The question was if Spike Flail from Fafnir will hit everyone with hate, or just the ally that the Fafnir is targeting for Spike Flail.
Alliance A has claim on Fafnir, a member of Alliance B tries to cure bomb Alliance A's tank to cause a Flail (because for some reason they didn't use blockaid). Member from Alliance B gets hate and Fafnir Spike Flails, only Alliance B gets hit with Spike Flail because Alliance B was the target of it, even though Alliance A had hate.
Pretty sure thats how Spike Flail works from Fafnir.
Yes. If an outside ally forces a flail by pulling hate from behind, the Flail will hit either the outside ally (if Faf just flails them without turning around) or the claiming ally (if Faf turns to attack the outside ally, the claiming ally gets hate back, and then Faf flails). But not both.
This is also why it's so much more fun to flail Niddykins.

Standing in Terra's Staff and Cheviot Cape ftw.
Nothing like getting hit with cure/invinc and seeing the attempted MPK'ing ally go down in a heap while Faf never goes unclaimed.Originally Posted by Valyana
Hurricane Wing is wind base. Did a few wyrm KS99 last weekend. Garuda took virtually zero damage on 3 occasions whereas Diabolos was hit quite bad.
