Goliard Cuffs vs. Z mitts

I am a galka currently leveling blm (42 at the moment), and just got Goliard cuffs in nyzle isle. I don't have z mitts yet. I assume that Goliard cuffs are better (Magic Acc + 4 vs. Magic att bonus +1), but as a galka i don't have mp to spare. My question is should i still try and obtain z mitts?

I don't see why you'd have to ask that. Goliard has both macc and matk. Yes, macc works, why wouldn't it?

Goliard is 4macc AND 4mab, zmitts is 50mp and 5mab. For Galka I would go Zmitts. I used Goliard until I got Sorc Ring and then I got Morri Mitts anyways and now Zmitts are hp- macro only.

Usually a well-meritted and decently-geared BLM doesn't have trouble with resists except on a select collection of HNM, in which case (capped accuracy) you would of course get marginally better results from the 1 MAB. As for whether Macc "works" (I assume you mean is noticably effective in the proportions commonly available on gear) I think it's underrated by the community in general, myself. That's just from my own observations though, nothing quantitative. Nobody ever really tests Macc+X vs. Skill+Y or INT/MND+Z, and as those kind of tests take lots of time and statistics, I don't know how soon we can expect anyone to for that matter.

the difference isn't 4 MAB. the cuffs have +4 the mitts +5. the OP meant 1 MAB is lost. not the total is 1. is giving up 1 MAB worth 4 MACC is what i believe he meant.

Goliard cuffs should be satisfactory for most of your nuking needs.

Max MP set is hard to utilize on BLM since--even if I'm at max MP, I may soon need to hit Stoneskin (Yigit hands, +0 MP) or an enfeeble (M.C. bracelets, +0 MP). Also, it's rare to rest to full in the first place. When soloing, I rest to about 75% MP then fish next mob. In Dyna or Limbus, I rest to about 50% then rejoin the fray. Galka judgment may differ though.

I'd say use galka RSE2 hands (+65 mps) when you need mp and keep Goliard cuff. If you are serious about blm, aim for yigit gages as they will increase you dmg for ~5 on tier IV, and eventually morrigan cuffs, which will icrease by another 5 dmg. This saves you the trouble of doing sky. The only reason you'd need A:hands, is if you want to make use of Sorcerer's ring latent effect imo.

Unless i'm meriting/rebuffering I use af+1 hands. That much skill can't be ignored. If it came down to it I'd use zenith for sorc latent and first 50mp then swap into goliard cuffs, but for me af1+1.

Goliard are good enough, if you're a HNM BLM, you shouldn't really run into many MP issues, if you're exp'ing though on flans or something where you should have a decent chunk of MP, it's possible you'll run out there earlier than the others.

In order of my preference , highest to lowest :

Morrigan
Goliard
Zenith+1
Zenith

That would be for the "MAB" hands. I'd definitely sacrifice 1 MAB for 4 magic acc (or sacrifice 0 and gain 5 macc in case of morri), because a nuke that lands costs less than the MP and time you'll be spending to make up for a resist.

I'd put AF+1 above Z mitts and goilard (even reg AF above Zmitts, though i'd be 50/50 on the goilard) , unless you are nuking something that doesn't have a chance of resisting you. 15 skill is big. Though strictly between the two I'd go with goilard.

Edit: you commented on your poor galka mp, but understand, a big mp bank will only do so much. How much hMP you have is what is really important.
