Too bad the CoS here in Calgary closed down, going to a protest would've been fun. Maybe it'll re-open before the next one. :x Awesome pictures all around though.

better off not being able to protest due to a closed down church than having one open. I'm glad I can't protest anywhere in my state due to no CoS here.

I just wish people would stop being retards and spamming memes, and from what I understand some of the raids were pretty much just that. >_>

Idiots like that are taking away what it's truly about. Also, I'll be going to my local paper to do an interview this week (anonymously obviously, anyone know where I can get an EFG mask >_>?).

Ummm that's the whole point of it. The memes, people Rickrolling a CoS and 500 people singing along to it, how do you fight against a group like that? It's so unorthodox, it's unlike anything anyone has ever done, and it's EXACTLY why it's working so well. "It's ok ma'am, we're from the internet" pretty much sums this whole thing up. The point is not to resort to hate tactics, name-calling and violence. If anything, whoever tried things like that during the raids were booed or drowned out.

They're there to prove a point, to get the word out to people of what Scientology is, the danger it can be to its members, and most importantly stand against it despite their ridiculous legal teams, threatening and using scare tactics on anyone who dares oppose them. Violence, name calling and rowdiness would no doubt just incur the police on them, give CoS actual legals reasons to get them off their property. How many protests are the police standing there and smiling at the content of what the protestors are saying. And they're not laughing AT them, they're laughing with them, and it's not in the least making them seem less credible. It's the charm of this whole protest, that we're each individuals, but also one. The memes bring the groups together, to show that even though none of these people have met together, that they have common goals and knowledge.

I know all the above seems pretty dramatic, but I seriously think something as simple as "Long cat is looooooooong", or 500 people rick rolling a CoS is powerful stuff when used in the right way, and as long as it brings a group of people together for a cause. Give the group the appearance of coordination and it'll make them appear more powerful and larger. Hell also the fact that it was in the negative degrees in just about every location probably gave them reasons to stay alert and occupied with the memes.

You're absolutely correct. How do you fight "Fair Game" tactics? When the defending party (CoS in this case) does not fight the issue, but rather attacks ad hominem to every critic, you can't maintain a logical position because your opponent won't honor it. You also cannot respond ad hominem because it debases your position.

The next best recourse is absurdity. Painting the entire situation as a farce does the necessary damage because the defending party (CoS) ends up looking bad. When fighting the illusion of public image and PR, having a "religion" that's trying to look like a serious organization yelling at "NEDM" or "Can I has Cheezburger?" undermines their policy.

Next time a group of people should make a multi-section Long cat.

One section made of cardboard for the head.

4 or 6 cardboard mid sections for the body

And one cardboard section for the end.

Then you stencil in a Meme or whatever you want on a couple of its sides and have 8 people hold up their own sections standing together during the protest.

    That would be epic lulz.

    BUMP BUMP

Jewtube has removed the "Message to Scientology" video that attracted 2.5 million views (the one with the clouds that was featured on many newscasts if you don't remember).

Many anon are reuploading the video on sock accounts. What crap did $cientology feed them this time? Playing the Bigotry Card I'm guessing.

Everyone should bring synchronized boom-boxes and simultaneously Rick-Roll. I'd die happy if I ever got to see that.
