I'm currently 94+2 Clothcraft with all subs, Errant Houppelande is a level 96 synth and I want a Mahatma for myself. With my pluses and synth support it puts me above the skill cap.

My question is, with pluses, will i be at T0 for HQ on the synth, or will i be T-1(if such a thing exists) because my base skill is below the cap for the synth.

If I am T0, i'll just start making HQ attempts while skilling up on the body.

In which case, I dunno, I put negative tiers up there with directional crafting, I'd count it as T0 and go for it but I have no actual data to back that up.

On re-reading the op after a cup of coffee.

1) I am an ass and too used to idiots posting here about tier 0's being magically tier 1 because they are facing south, using the opposite hq stave and bar spell of the crystal.

2) You have a 1% or so chance of hq from the first level you can try it to capped skill. Make it, sell it/junk it (w/e) and hope for the best.

If tier -1 did exist, support will still put you at tier 0. That's the way it works for ither tiers, so it would be the same.

Sorry for the late response, actually forgot I made this post until i crafted something this morning.

To rephrase my question:

If you're the same level of a synth, then you are T0 for HQ, everyone knows this.

If I am below the cap for a synth, am I also T0? Or does being below the cap only increase the break rate?
