TBH rather than that spell itd make more sense that Protect/ra spell lines be changed from 15~75 extra points of DEF to 5%~25% Damage Mitigation. max HP/MP for all jobs could do with a decent increase at this point but really DEF calculations are the biggest problem with the game PC side. Most ppl sub /nin BECAUSE the jobs DEF is so pathetic its almost useless expecially when VT/IT mobs hit ya for 150+ a hitOriginally Posted by ronin sparthos

Lolrdm casts Cure IV on Goddamngalkamnk.
Resist! Goddamngalkamnk resists the spell!

Nerfing curing abillity is silly.
Increasing curing ability is smart.
Decreasing enmity (as massively as stated) is ridiculous. A more legit amount could be around 20-30%.
Healing Magic skill having stronger effects on Curing is genius.
Buffing Status-ra spells is genius. I never casted Barparalyzra/other status bar-ras except for when I was a noob thinking it would help on Mandragoras.
A few new JAs wouldn't hurt either but I'd be careful with the timers on those Pray/Bless ideas and I'd make sure that -enmity gear doesn't affect them that much.
Honestly, White Mage as it is right now, is the game's healer. Sure, a Red Mage can work, a Scholar can work, and sometimes even just a /WHM can handle things. But if I'm at a big mob, that can take a tank out in no time flat, I'm sorry... I want me a White Mage. A one-sided job completely dedicated to healing isn't going to be busy with having to focus on things like enfeebling, doing damage, and buffing people (except every 30min or bar-element duration) that will screw them up on being able to cure fast. Cure V, all status cures without the use of a JA, higher potency elemental bar spells, massive Cure cast speed gear to make it as fast as RDMs... more -enmity gear and more cure potency gear, higher group cures, tons of stuff that just make WHM, well, WHM. It's not that much better, but when it is, you learn to appreciate it.
Fast, speedy, quick thinking and reacting WHM = win.
I was suggesting a base 50%, you're saying a difference of 20-30% is ridiculous? Can you really say at what point an inherent base-enmity drop would push WHM ahead significantly? Lets say a RDM or SCH can get to -25% and a WHM with the new ability gets to 50%. Will the 25% difference really be enough to make the more flexible jobs less desirable to the point where WHM is demanded instead of just preferred? At any rate, I was simply using the number as a benchmark.Originally Posted by Genosync
Also, Priran had a point, it's somewhat difficult to determine at what point a skill advantage should be implemented and how much of an advantage it should grant, not to mention it's such a round-about and imprecise way of dealing with it. It would be simpler just to apply the change to WHM directly as some sort of mid-high level trait, since that's the only job we'd want to enhance. Why bother doing anything else?
There's always the problem of WHM being the best, but not being required, so people will go for efficiency, the job that can fulfill the most roles well. With fewer jobs to gear, you have fewer concerns as to who gets what & when.
And thus, the problem of getting the most out of the size of the group you have comes into play and the fact that not every job is going to be optimal in every situation.
Oh well, the concept's been ignored for most of the thread anyway, it's not going to do me any good to rant on it now.
I'm totally jumping onto the end if this thread without reading the previous 38 pages so forgive me if this has been stated. I know its not a job adjustment but still.... Race change, SE charges a $25-50 fee just like world change and allows a 1 time or once every 90 day ability to change your race. I for one would love this to change my Hume BLM to a Taru BLM. It would give SE a good amount of money and would help the more advanced player base who realized the race they selected has its limitations and allows them to have a more diverse aspect of gameplay with other races.
While I like the idea (because I secretly want to be a green pig-tailed taru), it would help cross server people hide 'better' than before.
I'm glad the topic became a *bit* more civil and realistic, for what it's worth. That said, I don't really know what to give WHMs, as I have no experience with the job at high levels. PUPs actually have what they need for merit parties now, (for the most part, more respectable gear would be nice), and that's a good step in the right direction even if there's still some obvious job flaws. The HNM situation varies from monster to monster, some I do great on as PUP (especially Aspid and Salvage monsters) but most I don't, same with BST and most non-soloing or BST-onry activities. And, for the record, I did not think that gimping /WHM would have *really* helped the situation, but I wouldn't have minded so much, assuming they are fair and go the whole 9 yards, and nerfing the rest of the S/J abilites that aren't currently gimped or gimped enough (I'm talking one shadow Ichi and 2 shadow Ni, cutting Berserk effect in half, alllll that jazz and just break everyone's S/J game equally. No one really wants that, right?)
I think a Reposega would be nice for WHM. And I like the idea of a Protect buff. They still wouldn't be "necessary but they'd be so much better that the benefits would be obvious. A nice powerful automaton-based debuff on a mob would help for PUP (dunno what) on HNMs, BST I don't want to go into, but yea.
Sorry if I went over too much again, but there's a lot of pages.![]()
Well not like people care anyways about that if someone pops up different race with all this gear and doesn't say which server their from it'd be pretty obvious they are shady. But I see it as an opertunity for SE to get more money(which they're in the business of) and also help the player base. All it takes is 1 number in a different spot than it is atm and it'd change a persons race I'd be willing to bet. So not like its totally out of the question not possible its just a matter of SE thinking how popular it'd be as well as how practical for them to spend the time to implement it.Originally Posted by Akucaen

My understanding of RSE equipment is that it has the Race right on the item? So the person could have the EX RSE equipment but they wouldn't be able to equip it which would kinda be pointless for them.
The problem with Racial items are the quests not the items.
And I can't believe people really care about race still. This is below Zam material. Model changing I could understand though...
On the topic of people hopping servers: A name and server history of a player should be always be available to other players by asking a GM or going to their LS Community profile.
Linkshell Community is taboo now, seeing as that place is like a ghostown since no one uses it. Changing race would have to be something like a one-time deal, because people would abuse it if you could just change every month or so. Its something trivial but some people would like the ability to change their race once and i dont really see why it isnt possible. It could be like a GM item restore - one time - one shot.
One time race change sounds retarded. It's bad enough people end up on other servers for revenge or hacking etc.
