UF vs FSU

I am currently deciding which college I am going to be attending next year, and it is either FSU or UF. But I just have no clue which one would be better for what I am looking for. I dont mind big colleges and Im sure I'd be well off in both, my major is going to be computer engineering. Now Im asking here because I know there are some BGers who go to both schools.

Please help!

Honestly, if you're a local student, GO TO A COMMUNITY COLLEGE FIRST!

SFCC has a higher advanced degree graduation rate than UF for undergraduate. You deal with the professor, not some graduate student acting as TA. Aside from that, you can also do an AS/ Certification. Some of the programs available at a community college are unavailable at the two Universities. Smaller classes, cheaper cost, and the fact you can get in to the larger schools are also a +. UF is reducing inbound freshman class next year due to overpopulation, and historically the undergrad courses offered at UF do NOT compare to the same courses offered at Santa Fe.

If you want to be in engineering/hard sciences/accounting/ Music/ Arch/Anthro/Architecture/Med... UF. Liberal arts/education/Law... FSU.

If you are uncertain about the major you want to take, community college.

I'm considering going to UCF in the fall, depends on how their animation program is, otherwise i'll probably just go to USF, if I can finish this gd private college first. they keep fucking my schedule up and delaying my gen eds, which are all I have left.


I haven't really heard much of FSU, but some people I knew that went to UF didn't really like it, don't remember exactly why though.

On the other hand it's pretty much known as the best party school in the country (probably world) lol.

I stopped halfway through my app to FSU cause I got accepted into UCF like 5 days after applying there lol, but otherwise that's mostly true yeah

I dont play FFXI anymore But its true everyone that got accepted into UF or UCF got accepted into FSU. I can choose from any one though, as its a free ride anyways. I want the best!

I went to UF because it was the only school I applied too, since I applied ultra late. It was pretty fun, not too bad, big campus, but you really won't see too many people since it's spread out. The professors for my major (Computer Science) weren't that good for the lower level classes, but the upper level ones actually seemed to be great at what they did and so that made it interesting.

Funny story. When I took my SAT, I checked the option to send my scores to all public Florida schools. Around the time acceptance letters were being mailed I got a letter from FSU. I came home from school and my mom gave me a dirty look and asked me what I was doing getting a letter from FSU (She was born and raised a gator, so was my Dad. We're a gator household). Strange thing was that I never applied to FSU. The letter was worded as an acceptance letter but if you read the fine print it was a pre-acceptance letter saying that if I applied I would be accepted instantly. We all got a good laugh out of that one.

Which Bright Futures did you qualify for? If you get the 100% then judge on what kind of parties you like.

I went to UF and left cause I didnt like it. Cant really put my finger on why. Im at FSU now and have enjoyed it the whole time Ive been here. Ive got friends at both schools that have no problems with where they are at, so its just personal preference. UF is probably better for your major though.
