True -- I suppose its one thing that the game itself is a thinly? barely? veiled recruitment tool, I'm just rather disappointed that a 'news story' was skewed in such a manner.

I don't really care how much of a blatant advertisement it is for America's Army, any press that includes "gamer" and "saving lives" is good press for gamers.

Some day, when the alien invasion begins, and I save the planet thanks to my days as Master Chief, games will once again get the recognition they deserve.

Tempyst we didn't watch Death Wish I - V last week for nothing, I expect you to have a good supply of exploding wine bottles handy. I call dibs on the radio-controlled soccer ball.

The key here is: If you ever, -ever- do anything that is good and press-worthy, make sure that you credit video games with your success. If it involves saving lives, even better.

I mean, wtf - this kid just bandaged wounds and held a guy's limb over his head to stop blood loss - it's basic first aid. If he hadn't credited a video game he would've never gotten headlines.

Won't be impressed until a gamer grenade jump his way to North Korea and save the country.
