Re: Bahamut Endgame is in danger once more.

I wonder if ppl at pepsi WAAAAA about how coke came out first and is a bigger product. I doubt it... shit happens, some ppl think of shit sooner than other.

So be it. Yes it may be an asshole thing to bot. Yes most people wish that botter wouldbe stricken with malarea or herpes or something of the sort. But this is something that GMs won't do anything about and its something people just need to come to terms with, suck it up and keep playing. Bring your LS "en mass" and lag them, maybe you'll be lucky and claim. My LS does. Even though we still WAAA about it every now and then, we still show up and manage to claim and get loot.

As for Gov and lord leaving Kujata; thxbye. And as for demo leaving, in their shoes i wouldn't leave lol... they have it set. This is just the way things are.

Yeah, I understand that. It's just frustrating when you're in a LS that doesn't bot when going up against you guys. It's like a collective groan goes up when we see you claim, lol.

Re: Bahamut Endgame is in danger once more.

There's various courtesies that some server HNM LS's extend each other. Rather /rolling for who gets first shot at a window, and then respecting it, or /rolling to see who gets it next if the current LS fighting it is going to fail. Or standing back not interfering in a fight and trying their best to prevent anyone else from interfering at all.

It almost makes me wonder, if the courtesy could be extended to drops. LS's state up front what drops they are looking for. When an LS claims and kills something, if there are rare/ex drops they don't need, they open it up to the other HNM LS's around to /roll for them. This would ensure that no drops are sold, and that the only people getting drops, are those dedicating the time to sit up there for 3+ hours. For instance:

LS A has stated that they only want Ridills and E.bodies.
LS A wins claim on the fafnir that just popped, using whatever method that server's HNM LSs' agree to
Fafnir dies, drops a ridill, A.Feet and E.Hands.
Since, LS A doesn't need the other two, they ask if any of the HNM LS's do.
    LS's B, C, and D each roll once.
LS C wins roll, and sends out one of the members to lot the A.Feet.
    LS's B, C, and D roll a second time.
LS D wins second roll, and sends out a member to lot E.Hands.

Loot is shared. Nothing is sold. People put in the work by showing up. It would do wonders for getting an LS out of the aery, if you could get them their last couple of items. And reinforce everyone's chance at still getting something, even if they lose claim.

Then I realize communism is dead and people suck in general as they'd rather greedily sell something, so I leave my dreamworld.

This is assuming the HNM LS's that do claim on a regular basis want to give up their monopolistic rights to selling those Rare/Ex items for profit. I highly doubt that will ever be the case.

Lessee: Go through the trouble of asking other LS's there (civilly, mind you) if anyone else wants the drop, waiting with the drop in the pool while the other LS's /random it out, wait further while the winning LS decides who has enough points/whatever in their system to lot, and then the trouble of getting that said person out of their LS's party and into the killing alliance's party.

All in all pretty historic to happen without any bloodshed in 5 minutes, and especially without recompensation for the claiming linkshell. What you're asking for, Kenji, is for all of the linkshells to get along with each other long enough to form a kind of super-linkshell based on the "leftover" mob drop items. It's not going to happen.

Selling HNM items is like prostitution. You want the deal done as fast as possible and for as much money as you can get. And after the transaction you don't want to see the other party ever, ever again.

And I'm going to close my mouth now before we start getting into who's the pimp analogies. But it's true, with the five minute timer on mob drops and the fact that there is so much animosity between LS's, this kind of buddy system wouldn't work except between linkshells with a prior relationship of collusion.

That would seem to happen between older (age wise) shells where ppl respect each other. Kujata is ruled by children and will most likely never change... Well, at least not till they grow up... which might never happen. sooo.... yeah.

yeah i remember you too dead, your zest for life is just to make witty posts on various forums to look so cool. you know the whole "i dont give a crap" attitude. yeah i heard the whole story how emo you would get when you didnt get the gear you wanted, got king gear and dl gear from a ls that rarely claimed just to retire to various socials. and by retire i mean still play games 24/7.

the anti semite comment pretty much sums up 99 percent of any post ive ever read of yours. you care enough to spam forums but when time to say anything you just make a joke.
I'm assuming by "zest for life" you actually meant my meaning to live. If by various forums you mean this one, which I hadn't visited for a year til recently, or yarr's forum, which isn't an ffxi forum, then good job. That's nice you've heard stories from an ls I left before you even got into it. Considering what I've heard about the stories you can believe what you like. lol. I didn't retire to a social, I retired to solo, I didn't join a social til 7 months later, after taking a 2 month break from the game.

I wasn't joking about you being an anti-semite.

The idea of rolling for kings wouldn't happen here because the only people who've put in any serious time to camping kings either stopped camping regularly (or altogether) or are now in lm17. Other people simply haven't put in the time to deserve a roll in such a system. It's a plain fact.

We camp because there are still items we need, we get the drops, and personally for 4 months of being on this server I watched both Atariiii and FS graciously hand out drops to any schmuck willing to show up, free of charge, and I know that service existed for a long time.

So...people had their chance? I don't know what you expect, we routinely make sales at our prices, all of them, it's not anything new or wild either, from my previous server it's always been the policy of every LS (with the exception of one, who gave discounts to dynamis members) to charge out the ass for all drops.

And, whether it was made public or not, they all had price lists, I'm sure plenty of LS's here have price lists as well. But honestly, as much as this may enrage you, boohoo, /plenty/ of people can and do afford our prices, purchase multiple items, and are very grateful of it because expensive or not, they enjoy doing other things besides kings in FFXI, and we give them a chance to buy it like it was AH.

If I was a social only player, and had a craft, you bet your ass I'd pay 6 mil on the auction house for a black belt.
That's all fine and dandy, except it crushes any efforts for people who actually want to earn the drops by fighting the mobs themselves. I don't want some botting shell selling me drops, I want to fight the goddamn fight and earn it myself. Some people might pay your linkshell's ridiculous prices, but there's plenty of others who would much rather their linkshell have an opportunity to get claim and get their own drops. If the only reason you guys are showing up to these camps is because you need a couple items, then ffs hurry up and get them and then go away.
uh do you use the Auction house? did you camp and synth every item you wear? are you pure rare/ex? i seriously doubt it

when RMT were rampant did you boycott the AH? did you bring back barter?

Point: Cockblocking HNMs and funding items using them isnt fair to the people who wanna kill it outside that LS? even if they do sell items they dont need for 'fair' prices?

Its all a matter of how much is too much for individuals, some people would play if RMT cornered everything and you had to pay to join a party and some people get pissy the minute they see RMT and make a personal crusade out of it.

What's worse? Someone who grew up in a trailer in new jersey, or somebody who pretty much used his LS to fund an Aegis for himself, and then proceeds to tank EVERY LAST MOB I'VE EVER SEEN YOU TANK in Homam fucking Zuchetto? (that's the hat people)

Pulling the real life card on the internet, when you're a giant faggot on FFXI is pretty fail.

As laughable as the latter is... uh... the first? Note that I'm not one to sit here and flat out bash someone for circumstances beyond their control and as such would definitely ridicule the latter but uh... it's a trailer in jersey.

Some people are just indifferent, it depends on the server. Our most obvious and shameless botting LS are a coin flip on wiping so really it doesn't matter too much.

Check the edit. I think the sad part of it all is that my mind didn't emphasize the trailer, but rather jersey.

I used to part of the HNM scene long ago on a different server. For awhile there, that's what it was like. We'd gather in the aery, and when the 21st hour came close, one rep from each LS would roll. Winning LS gets the free shot to claim Fafhogg for that window. If it passed didn't spawn, they'd roll again for the next window. It was very civilized. No idea if lasted past the time I left the scene.

But it did completely eliminate claimbots. Why bot when there is no fighting for claim? It's the only way to remove botting, short of SE completely randomizing when the mob shows up, ie, could pop now, or anytime in the next 24 hours.

That wouldn't do it either, you could practically set your game up to bot a mob at any given time of the day then wake you up with a <call> upon pop, and worse comes to worst set your phone to pick up incoming IM's when you're idle so you get a phone call (my phone doubles as my alarm clock also) when someone IM's you upon pop. Could easily set a, claim / invincible bot (dual boxing a bard for elegy), wake up and get to your PC with time to spare.
