Patapon anyone?

I can't say my PSP has gotten a lot of use since picking one up near release since I don't do the whole homebrew/emulation thing. Apart from the cracking out on megaman/megaman x remakes at the start of its life there just hasn't been much to hold my interest (though lumines can make me forget to blink like a good puzzle game should). But what about little Patapon?

Quirky looking game coming out from the creators of Loco Roco, you use the face buttons to pound out a tribal rhythm to command your custom equipped eyeball conquerors to charge, retreat, attack and the like. Aside from crisis core it's one of the few PSP titles I'm looking forward to. The videos up on gametrailers look like it'll be interesting, if not a riot to play. Anyone else looking forward to this?

Through the sony store, they're putting up a patapon demo up later today for those interested. Just a little to keep the buzz going even though it's just a few weeks away from release, but It's still the PSP title I'm most interested in at the moment.

Getting it only because the publisher made the right choice in selling it budget priced. It's hard to pay full-price for quirky titles that you may or may not like.
(which is why I waited until my WalMart bumped LocoRoco down to $19.99 a year later to sell off extra stock. Was an alright game, but not exactly something I'd play extensively)

I was thinking along the same lines originally but it looks like Patapon has a lot more depth than LocoRoco (something I wanted to play, but never got around to). Something has to be said for it being game of the month over Devil May Cry 4 in the latest issue of EGM though. I'm probably just thankful for something new to play on the PSP though.

One of my coworkers said that GameStop is giving out the demo in disc form with pre-orders. I hate pre-ordering stuff, but I have the $20 set aside for the game anyway. I'll stop by GS tomorrow on my way home from work to see if I can grab the demo that way.

Anyways, IGN gave it a 9.2, pretty impressive.

GameStop did indeed have the demo discs when I went tonight. I've only played the first 3 levels, and it's pretty repetitive at this point. I can see where the game is going, I just hope it gets there before it loses my interest.

Haven't had a big chance to get into it just yet, trying to finish up apollo justice so my brother can play it, then I'll concentrate on patapon. Enjoying it greatly though, even more toe tappingly addictive than I'd hoped.

give it past the first 3-4 levels of the demo. It's more of a training thing and if you get to the end of the demo it lets you save and when you get the full version pick up where you left off. I was bored on the first couple of levels and it just slowly starts getting more and more addicting. I kinda want to steal my friends psp now cause of this game. :nikkei:
