    Ebisu Fishing Rod Answer

Well, despite unhelpful responses from this forum I decided to go ahead and test out whether I could get Saber Shoot / Opal Silk without first getting Key Item: Serpent Rumors. It turns out you can get the two rare/ex items from Zaldon. I received my Opal Silk after trading in 1/71 Lik, and Saber Shoot after trading in 1/90 Gugrusaurus. If anyone on Ifrit would like to buy these fish, Catori hooked me up with them and has a steady supply.
