Very drammaish, deal with meara and you will eventually get burned was the common trend with her on shiva. Lots when not supposed to, tells lies in order to attempt to make herself look better and those she dislikes worse and bails when she looses her way.

If you want two players who are gonna be on the game 98% of the time and are good/decent at some of their jobs this is what you'll get with these two.

However, you have to be very careful 'cause, as stated before, Meara perpetuates drama. She's been given so many second chances and each time she fucked it up with her same old shenanigans. Calais you don't have to worry about as much, he'll listen to what you say and do what you want him to do but he's also Meara's lap dog, so if she flips out and leaves he's gone too (as seen with the break up of Soulfire and numerous altercations within Soulfire, with Meara leaving DarkLegacy, with the creation of Pandora, and ultimately with the unannounced leaving of Pandora that came with the server transfer).

IMO the reason they left the server was because Meara knew she wouldn't get into any other major endgame LS's and her attempt at her own endgame LS must have begun to crumble again.


If you want a little background check on stuff that she's done way in the past as well as within the last few weeks and months here's some little tidbits:

-After leaving FullCollar (a public Dynamis linkshell run by a Japanese player for anyone and everyone) and forming a Dynamis shell for Soulfire she refused to /random with the leader of FullCollar for the rights to enter Dynamis-Glacier. Instead she just gathered everyone up asap and entered cock-blocking Fullcollar. This was before the days of major planning between linkshells for who had what Dynamis when so it was a dick move on her part to refuse to /random (seeing as how it work plenty fine back then).

-The infamous "I hate Americans" incident. I only heard it second hand from Calais at the time, but from what I was told she was going on about how she hated America and eventually kicked some of the American players from Soulfire.

-During a Limbus run, she D2'd one of the limbus leaders in the middle of the run due to some argument.

-During a schedules sea gods run she got into another argument with the leaders of Soulfire about camping Fafnir instead of doing sea and this is what lead to her just breaking the pearl in the middle of sea. As it's been said she had been planning to leave Soulfire for a while and was making deals with the shell holder of DarkLegacy (Nikko, I heard he plays WoW though) to take herself and some other members. So IMO more than likely this Fafnir vs Sea incident was her perfect chance to make some more drama.

-With the breaking of Soulfire she also took off with a good portion of the bank as well as linkshell items too (Soulfire was not broken at the time, leaders just switched around and it was reformed cause most of the members wanted to stay). Calais returned his Osode, but Meara took money and items and her boyfriend Alderaan (I still think they're dating <_< who knows anymore, I'll assume it's the 97.something smithing she has listed under crafts in her app.) kept linkshell property as well.

-The Nash-pants incident (see posts above) where she was told she could not lot on them and proceeded to lot anyways and tried to start a lot of drama in the process.

-Meara is also very fond of making sure people hate people she hates. From my own personal experience I'm good friend with one of the former sack holders in DarkLegacy and she told me that Meara use to say tons of horrible things about me in DL and that left a bad impression of me in her mind. Said leader was helping a friend of mine camp Molby for his vine and I came to help out too. Way after this happened she told me that she didn't want to invite me to the party because after hearing Meara talk shit about me she was worried I might lot the vine over my friend. Of course this never happened and later when she actually met me she found out, well Meara tells lies. A lot of 'em. A very lovely two-faced individual seeing as she was "nice" to me while I was in Soulfire.

Anyways, again, if you want two people who can play all the time and shits go for it. But as a majority of Shiva can tell you Meara is not a player to be trusted and she'll likely fill your forums and ventrillo with stories and pictures of her stinky boobs or teeth she's had removed. No lie, she will do this. She did it in Soulfire, she did it in DL and more than likely in Pandora too.

Fun times! And excuse the wall-o-text but I want to make sure you all know what you're getting into if you accept her. Second chances are good and all but she's had tons of them and never changed her ways with any that were given.

Well I guess I can offer some input into this. I am (and was when Meara was leader also) a coleader of Soulfire.

Calais is a great PLD and a great guy. Even when he left SF with Meara he and I had long conversations about it and I believe that he made the correct choice for himself. I stayed relatively friendly with him after that and he was never one to cause drama. If Calais reapplied to Soulfire I would probably vote yes for him but ask that he took a longer probation period then is the norm for our shell.

Meara is a good BLM. For most of her stint as the leader of SF she was level-headed and fair. At the end though she changed quite a lot and did most of the things that are detailed above. She was always prone to hating people or insulting people she didn't care for. At one time she was not into gear very much, but towards the end she made some very questionable choices. She also severed contact with about anyone who stood up to or disagreed with her when she broke the shell which was a little odd to some of us who considered her a friend. She has a habit of burning bridges. If Meara reapplied to Soulfire I would vote no without question.

For some clarification I was the Limbus Leader that got d2 during the event. Because I was instructing them to do one thing and she disagreed with me even though I was leading it. So she d2'd me. She said in her app on the other forum that she doesn't let her temper interfere with an event. but to me that is clearly not that case. One thing I can't stand is people being less then honest, so I just wanted to clear up that bit of information. take it as you will.

Since I was involved with the Linkshell bank for soulfire I was privy to what was going on with that at the time. Those dusk gloves she did refuse to give back to even let someone else borrow them. She had inadvertently spent 3 mil of the portion of the LS bank she was holding.

As you can see throughout each picture, my HP was in red every single time. Neither Calais or Meara used their MP to cure my HP back to full, I could have died! IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT IN YOUR LINKSHELL?

But srsly, they're cool. I never had any problems with them, then again, I don't have any problems with anyone on Shiva. Excellent players, except Calais enjoys dying on BLM a lot. If you're looking for some members that are dedicated to being on this game when needed such as for Dynamis, Cerberus, Tiamat, etc. then these two would be an excellent addition for your Linkshell.

Hey, just wanted to get some words in because Meara's been doing all the talking so far.

As far as being willing to come on whatever job I'm asked to play, I'm completely fine with that. I think at the moment my mage jobs are my best jobs anyways, and I wouldn't mind playing them all the time. Also having been in the position as a sackholder and linkshell leader of having to beg/plead/threaten people to come on the job I needed them on, I think it'd make me a fairly huge jackass to bitch about that (run on sentencesss).

I know the other questions were really for Meara, but I wanted to say a little bit about it. Meara maybe many things, and if you let her in you will find out lol, but she is not a lootwhore, nor is she greedy. I've been in every linkshell she's ever been in (plus a few more) so I think I can safely say that. She always thinks before she lots, maybe a little too much sometimes, and lots with care.

As I'm writing this I finally got around to reading the BG background check and there's a lot of crap on there. One thing you should take into account is that Ansemgeni is pretty much a habitual liar. He hates Meara and me because we tried to befriend him awhile ago, before we joined our last HNM shell, and he became so weird and annoying we couldn't stand him anymore. Pretty much no one can stand him in general. Ask bigdaddyjack or kuku about him, they probably remember him some.

Some of the other stuff is partially true. I'll tell you up front that Meara has a bit of a temper. Not like she goes off at every little thing or anything like that. More like if you keep poking and poking and poking (many pokes) at a lion eventually it's going to maul you in the face. So she's gotten a bad rap for some of the outbursts she's had after being baited.

Sorry that this post is so long, went on far longer than I intended. Oh, and sorry I didn't return your tell tonight, Khalil, didn't get back til late.

First things first! My favourite jobs are BLM and RDM. I like to play them and will for every event without a problem. I can also play WHM or BRD if needed but my best gear is on BLM and RDM. Also, I generally bring a dual-boxed BRD with me to everything anyways. I would be a huge hypocrite if I ever expected to go to an event on BST. You really don’t ever want to see my PLD because it’s embarrassing – it was stripped to fund my Morrigan’s Robe.

Yes, I have drama. I was an end game linkshell leader for over three years, and therefore a bit of a magnet for drama. In all honesty, I should have gotten out of that situation a lot sooner than I did. I stuck around because I felt obligated to and responsible for the 40 or so people in the shell. It really wasn’t a good idea to stick around because things just deteriorated into endless fighting and bickering between everyone until finally I broke the shell, which happened a year ago. If I could go back in time I would have stopped leading that shell a year earlier than I did. I left those people alone in order to let them recover as much as possible because I never wanted to see them fail. I wouldn’t even wait outside a Dynamis zone that my shell was to go in if they were coming out just to stay away and keep drama to a minimum.

I didn’t have a plan to break it and join another linkshell. I happened to be friends with the leader of DL for several years and asked if Calais, myself, Alderaan (who also moved with us - now Alderan - but wants a break from the endgame scene), and Ansem (who at the time I was trying to help because everyone hated him and I’ve a soft spot for underdogs) could join. It didn’t happen right away. It took three weeks from the time I broke the shell until the time we were given pearls. I enjoyed DL quite a lot while Nikko (the leader) was there to run it. Not saying I liked everyone there, but I studiously avoided everyone I disliked. Calais and I kept to our group of people and had a lot of fun. After Nikko left the shell faded away, and lots of bad things happened. The shell was rife with drama that involved everyone (not just me and my hilarious hecatomb cap story) as it folded. It eventually concluded with someone from another shell (Ansem’s current shell) stealing the DL bank mule (Calais and I had left before this happened however). We were in DL for about 8-9 months, left it about 10-12 weeks ago, and it finally died sometime in December.

I’m not going to respond on BG to those people because it’s just not worth it. I do, as Calais says, have a temper at times. I’ve never, however, let it interfere with linkshell events and never would. I can't recall ever making anyone cry on Ventrilo, but I have yelled at the odd person. I don’t believe I’m a loot whore. My gear is what I would consider above average but not the best of the best. Our BRD mule was given to me (not stolen) by someone who quit the game when she was 69BRD and we built her up from there. I didn’t steal a linkshell bank or leave with a Novio Earring/Herald's Gaiters. I did leave SF with a Noble's Tunic and Dusk Gloves because I had forgotten they were linkshell property and by time I remembered it, six months had gone by (and they had already become casualities to my Morrigan's Robe ingot fund). Calais returned his Kirin's Osode to SF when we left. When we left Shiva the other day we even made sure the 500k or so sky split money we had was sent to someone else first. Our last shell had no linkshell property otherwise. I have a lot of drama-baggage from my time leading a linkshell and it’s understandable if that makes people worried. However, I checked that baggage on Shiva and just want to do stuff and have fun.

I hope my LS doesn't mind my posting, but as everyone knows, I do speak my mind.

I wish you all had come to Soulfire first, to be honest. Many posters here don't know her as well as the rest of us. As you can see, most of our linkshell is still hurt and angered by the break. It's been a hard recovery, but we're doing alright. SF prides itself on being the longest-running NA shells on the server. Meara was our leader for more than 3 years.

I could say a lot of negative about her, but if I do that then I also have to say negative about almost everyone else who's posted here, including myself. I'll try to be honest while still giving my opinion, but still not let my emotions get in the way. Although I WILL say I find it quite ironic given the lot vs. Venetia. No one has yet mentioned Venetia being asked by Meara when Ven was in SF not to lot on the Dalmatica so one of the founding sackholders could get it and she lotted anyway and refused to pass. Granted it was within our point system for her to legally lot it, but Meara never forgave her. While that's ancient history now, you can still find the only time Meara ever publicly insulted someone on a forum (KI) calling Ven "ugly as sin irl" which she used to frown on.

Funny, I had a dream last night about Meara. I'd gone back in time and our forums were her house and I introduced my mom to her and we read Christmas cards she'd stuck on the wall. I also couldn't get my cell phone to call the future and no one knew who I was except her after my mom left but she was very busy with an elaborate tea party that involved extremely exotic clothing. >.> But I digress...

Somewhere deep inside I always hoped things could be patched up and I feel a little sadness that she's moving servers. But I also thought when the shell broke that probably what's best for her is to take some time away from the game, find a career and her own place, and settle down & have some Tarutarus of her own and then come back. I had the chance to be unemployed for a while and I had a few rather in-depth convos with her. I don't want to disrespect, really, but the game is her biggest accomplishment. I feel very sorry for both of them that they spend so much of their time in-game and out of touch with reality.

Something happened when she hit 30. She realized the game was really all she had. It is interesting to see how many people she hurt last year and how they can exact their revenge on her by preventing her entry into this shell.

She does not like real life info shared, and the then-sackholder that got the GM called on him knew this and put her name in his /seacom so that he would get kicked. He's always been an ass when he wants to and has been kicked several times. In fact, he quit the game and the shell has had to think long and hard on whether to take him back given that half the shell is new since he left and would not be able to shrug off some of his antics.

Since she's not going to quit, and it's obvious she's looking to start over, I'll comment on her as a player. She is a fantastic black mage and was an excellent Dynamis leader. As she herself said, her PLD is embarassing. But she does know what she's doing and has extensive experience in all end-game events, being successful in everything from HNM to Salvage, Sky to Dynamis, and in between.

Will she cause drama for you? No one can really say for sure. She's more of a career player. When she was with us she would say things like "It's MY shell." She had the ability to grant stuff to her inner circle of friends because she could. She's sometimes bossy, always ballsy, and won't back down from a challenge or an argument. When provoked, she can snap. She often thought drama was entertaining and made a game of it since she has little life outside the game. She liked to see herself as the target of such things, when in reality, she was the instigator. That still may have just been power going to her head, who knows.

She has the end-game skills, gear, and leadership aibility to make a desirable addition to an end-game linkshell, I won't lie. I also have to agree, though, that the potential for drama exists. I can't help but hope she might get in, as odd as that sounds.

Cal is an awesome tank and if Meara taught him how to play black mage, I'm sure he can at least get the job done. Silandra (whatever the brd mule's name is now) was pretty much given to her by Yip and he hasn't been back since to inquire about it.

As for Cal, I haven't seen his BLM in action. I know that when Meara was friends with Nikko, he was big on BLM army for his shell, and Cal really only lvl'd it after they all left for DL. Waste of a good Shadow Mantle, if you ask me, and it's sad that that piece of gear we all worked so hard for might never see action again. Ah yes, then there's the gil & gear from our LS. That's more of a sore spot. She didn't just strip her PLD for the Morrigan's, to be sure. She had a good chunk of our bank. But then, she did always say, "it's MY shell!"

I honeslty hope the best for all of them. They can be good people when they want to be, and I hope they want to be just that on your server.
