X's knife BC question

Thanks lol I thought I was doing something severely wrong. It looks doable on our end. We been talking about it a lot.

We do have access to a "Sacrificial Red Mage". I am a little fuzzy on how hate works, but is it possible to run in chainspell, nuke X to shit, die, and not have the rest of the group in jeopardy? That would take a load off, and 500 exp is a small price to pay for the freedom. But if they tear off after us cause of party hate, it's gonna be hard to figure out which one is kiting lol.

I can easily CS Nuke X to death AND the Wyvern if someone Sleepga2s the group and we wake up the DRG right after X is down. Can nearly do it solo with just ES Sleepga but I always seem to die when I need just one more nuke to finish the Wyvern.. RDM can actually solo the BC if they can kill X+Wyvern during CS.

If you have a few ES Sleepgas or a good kiter it makes the BC pretty easy once people learn what to do.

I think you nail down a very good point for this BC. It's not hard once you know what's going on, but I must admit, it can be a bit confusing as to what the hell is going on the first few times. They move around like crazy, hate isn't working like it should, things are getting summoned, enfeebles are hard to land, etc.

The key idea is to kill X and Z's Wyvern. Once these 2 are dead, you can wipe and do it nice and slow. The method Judai mentions is actually how a RDM on stage6 solos this. CS nukes can kill X and the Z pet before Sleepga wears. At this point he wipes and resets and finishes things off at his leisure. If it's soloable, I really think groups pushing themselves to take 4+ to help are just asking for trouble in the long run.

RDM/BLM + BLM is actually a very good duo setup for this BC if you are not comfortable with kiting. My post only highlights using a THF because if you want the knife I have to assume you have a THF. You can probably do this BC the quickest without dying using a BLM + RDM/BLM or RDM/BLMx2 setup.

btw, not sure if it's common knowledge or was mentioned but even if you full wipe or time out, you can immeadiately go bck to Des and get a new letter and try again. Unlike most BCs, you can only WIN once a week but you can ATTEMPT it as many times as you like.(most of the ppl who I asked about the BC didn't know that) So don't be afraid to "test" things out and work on your strat.

and yea, it can be pretty confusing at first when you are up against 5 mobs, 2 not sleepable and 3 you need ES for... Like Kaeko said, aim for killing X and the Wyvern right off the bat and it really makes the BC alot less stressful. Seems odd but the Wyvern is the key to winning imo, while getting X down quickly just makes it alot easier. The other two are magic casters, so very easy to kite especially with their odd pathing around the rock. The wyvern is just a pain in the ass with it's healing breath so get rid of it asap at all costs.

The couple of times I've done this before went in with a group of 5 - 2 SMN, 1BLM, 1 RDM and a PLD. PLD runs in and "super-tanks" everything, using Invincible/Sentinel, but engaging X (iirc). BLM and RDM assist PLD, SMNs Astral Flow em all... Generally after 2nd Astral only the bunny is left lol

If you are still in the beginning CS, you will not get attacked by the mithra. They will reset after other people wipe. I was getting a 2nd account the clear and this happened.

Unfortunatly, I don't really see how I can use this to my advantage.

iirc you can watch the CS every time, and in my case this is extremely valuable. I can lock my Blm and Thf in the CS while i run in with the RDM and chainspell X+Wyvern down without any fear of getting prison raped in the face.

Watch that stage6 video close there's something fishy on thier opening assault. Watch X as he begins the assault, she casts Utsusemi right after his initial nuke for 665, then Vol immediately starts casting Thunder III for 742, 742, 730, 720 like the shadows weren't even there.

I was watching his macro palette, saw him use an "INT" button, must be the sleepga trigger and I missed the annimation.

Can't read Japanese so idk what the log is saying. I think i will try this tonight, Btw Judai thanks for the tip on the retrieval of the letter. I didn't know that and I think I've done this BC about 8 times with 3 fails I oculda redone.

I duo this BC weekly RDM+BLM. ES sleepga II > chainspell bind/gravity the rabbit and nuke the BST > try to nuke Z's wyvern before wiping and have rdm ES sleep the DRG and DRK. Reraise, the rabit doesnt aggro. ES sleepga II, nuke the wyvern then the DRG and the DRK using BLM's 2H. Rest and finish rabbit. Takes ~ 20 ish minutes.

lol. I'm enjoying the evisceration damage coming from the knife. Did a 2.3k Evisceration with no food no attack bonuses at all and no triple attack on a DC fly in attohwa.

kk I got an issue.

getting my friend the prerequisites done, did Shikaree X fight saturday night, conquest tali happened, and no Letter from Shikaree Y. Is there a cooldown for the BC like other ENM? or is there somethign I am missing? Yes they have sea, seeing that there seems to be slightly different prerequisites for the 2 BC's.
