Re: Bahamut Scythe or Rune Chopper

Yes because the math shows that with any kind of moderate haste setup, any DRK with DB merits can effectively zerg 10,000HP off of any monster and the nice thing about it is that they can do it while eating tough TP moves because 1 second later they're at full HP again.

For completely elite setups, you're gonna see a KC outperform them all, followed by a BZ (though debateable, and slight) and then RC. A DRK can only cap at 22% haste anyway and at Lv.72 you're not going to sacrifice accuracy for a blitz ring, so let's just knock off that and homam pants now and make it 18%. At that haste percentage, I can't recall the math (Hint: Read the Advanced forum and search it) but it may be the breaking point for being better than RC...(Note: 18% is assuming that you have both Dusk+1 Feet and Hands and V/S Belt)

Earlier, the every 6m comment refers to the fact that a KC DRK is able to zerg every 6m for 1m while being Cure bombed, since he can use shadows to not be hit, regen HP through BW (Though smaller since less per hit damage is dealt) and lose less HP per swing making Cure bombing more manageable for healers.

In any event as a DRK in and end game LS, you should always look at what gear you have available and use what suits you best and you should always be able and geared to zerg. It's what we do best, sadly, but it's hella fun.

Plus it's 240k xp from 72-Full Desp. Blows merits, which is 12 hours if you've got some friends.

You'd need to have some nice luck with LoO to beat that time investment, not to mention you lose out on having a (imo) cool job that's functional outside of throwing xp at JoL.

Re: Bahamut Scythe or Rune Chopper

Ive been sitting at 72 using OC for zerg fights for months now and have been doing pretty well with it; however, Im sick of being lv72 lol. I want to be able to use my lv75 gear and have been looking for a reason to finish leveling it. I didnt realize RC was capable of putting out that much dmg.

When I first got to 72, i was able to borrow a friends dusk gloves+1 for zergs but only had nq feet. I had 18% haste then (dusk gloves+1, dusk feet, v belt, blitz ring, wyvern earring) but am down to 17% now. I would say the worst part of an OC drk is how useless they are after a zerg. For things like Dyn-Valk, after the mega is dead I am pretty much worthless and I hate it.

Sitting here during camps I was putting together a gear setup and it looks like you dont even need all the homam to reach haste cap with RC. Can switch homam hands for alky for the HP. Definitely gonna finish DRK and get the merits.

Thx for all the advices ^^

First of all, I don't want OC build for two main reasons. One was pretty much decribed by Kilik, second is much more simple - I have no time for LoO. Not to mention it's much less demanding to get 75 + necessery merits than 72 and OC ^^ One more problem is that 72 OC DRK seems more expensive >.> (SH+1, Dusk, maybe +1) while Homam is free (feet, legs and body).

Not having to camp LoO is enough reason to just shoot for 75.

I know some people get lucky but believe me, it's not something you want to do! Competition is like non-existent now on a bright side, but it doesn't change the fact you can camp 12 hours into window and still not see him pop. Without even going into his shitty drop-rate, although honestly I have no idea if OC drops more often or not.
