Wife and I getting back like 1500. $1000 going towards our downpayment fund for a house, the rest we're splitting.
I might get me a 40gb PS3...$250 is a good start.

I wanted to buy a PS3... but now my g/f is telling me that I should use it to hardwood my floors. QQ
I can give a grand list of things I "want" but It will probably go toward something for my daughter or the house.
That how it always plays out in the grand scheme of things.

I mean, it's cool and all I'm getting it back in a lump sum, but Id of rather not paid in that much and just had it in investments. Me making money off my money is better than the government making money off my money. Regardless, I have a Circuit city card I plan on paying off, as well as a credit card we maxed when we first bought our house. Fiancee still has her federal and state, as well as my state as well. Probably put the rest of the money away and save it for the wedding/honeymoon.
Edit: Fuck hardwood floors and go with laminate. I put down some wood laminate in my kitchen, about 400ish sqft. Cost me around $500. Installed myself. Looks god damned good.
Not sure what I'm doing with my own, but I know I'm getting a laptop with my parents' tax return. XD It's my college graduation gift.
The government "making money" would actually be better for the economy than you receiving it and then saving it. In fact, the government wouldn't be "making money", but would be spending it. Take into account the multiplier effect, for every 1 dollar they spend, it effects the GDP by a lot more...this is my understanding anyways... i'm just throwing that out there.Originally Posted by Tyche

I agree in a sense. The government would benefit more in a macro sense of the word. It's a lot of the reason I think giving the $800 tax credit is a fucking rediculous idea. Let the government keep it, they can control money better than giving the middle class $800 to buy beer and cigarettes. None the less, It's my money anyway, and if I had better accountants, I wouldn't have paid in that damn much. I make $0 by giving it to the government and getting it back later, Id rather invest it or put it into my Roth account.
I'm paying bills and upgrading my computer.![]()
I agree they would benefit by investing it versus us spending it. But the whole point of the tax credit is to have us spend the money. They want more money to go into businesses to stimulate the economy. Yes, that includes beer and cigarettesOriginally Posted by Tyche

I don't know what I'm going to do with mine yet. Might just shove it in savings.
Finishing paying off my credit card, new brakes and tires
Anything I get back this year goes straight in to the savings![]()
paying off my credit card so I can start saving for a new car before mine implodes in a horrible fireball of death and destruction.
Hookers, blow.
(I doubt I'm getting anything back this year)
I don't know how much i'm even getting back, but i'll probably just put it towards credit card bills or student loans or something![]()
paying off CC debt![]()
