Server Suggestions Please

First off i haven't played in a while due to a PC death and then moving and since then my account has gone innactive. I've reactivated it and planning to possibly move servers cause i was never really satisfied with Kujatas population demographic with my previouse play times (playing in the transitions of NA/JP primetimes).

So basically if you guys could provide a lil info on severs that have a good amount of NA players but not blatently overpopulated that'd be great. Also if you know any end game shells that are dominant on the server your pitching that'd help to so i can get a feel for whats there.

If you want a good server for those times, one with a good size JP population will probably help you immensely. I'd suggest Odin except we are extremely packed, probably the biggest server going atm.

The older original servers seem to have the higher JP bases (as would make sense) - so try those: Carbuncle, Ragnarok, Bahamut (which is also very packed.. like 2nd largest, so maybe avoid it), etc. If you check like, the server status page on the official site, the order in which servers are listed are the order in which they went live, essentially.

TY, and i should of mentioned my playtimes a little more accurately will be a bit more normal now, US-PST 4pm-11pm. Personally just interested in casual XP of noob jobs and meriting with a good endgame focus (not big on HNM's that aren't tied to KS99 or limbus) I had a friend that played on Ragnarok and Bahamut, he said pretty much what you just did, except he painted a very bleak picture about the conduct of ppl he experienced on those servers (he had two accounts). What can you say about the dominant shells on Odin? Good people? nubcakes? bots"R"us? that kinda stuff?

Cerberus has a very small number of people, so camps are open a lot and mobs (like Khim, Cerb, Tiamat) pop unclaimed quite often. The only problems with Cerberus are that the big-game HNMs are heavily-contested - even though you don't get nearly as many people at camps as you would on other servers, the people that do go to the camps are often botting so the chances of claiming are slim unless you're in one of those shells.

Cerberus also has a huge JP population and a fairly strong EU population, so if you play in those times and can communicate effectively with those people, you'll find lots of Nyzul/Salvage groups to go with. There are also a few Limbus and Dynamis groups that go in those times that you can probably find your way into very easily.

So Pro's:

- Low population
- Open camps
- Fairly good economy
- Primarily JP/EU population
- Lots of pick-up Salvage/Nyzul groups that you can get in if you're not a shitty player.

Con's:

- Heavily contested King/HNM camps
- 2-3 linkshells corner the scene for most competitive camps, so unless you're in one you have very little chance at those mobs.
- Primarily JP/EU population (this could be good or bad, depending on your play time)

Linkshells: Progeny (huge, does events around the clock, camps everything), Aftermath (fairly large, does events in NA time, camps almost everything if it's in NA time), WhirlingWind (average size, rarely does Khim/Cerb, powerful at Kings/Tiamat, not sure on events but assuming primarily NA time), Empyreal (my LS, small shell, does events at GMT/EU and NA time, camps everything but Fafnir and only rarely Tiamat), RTU (average size, mostly JP/EU, will camp everything but never shows up during NA time).

No, I liked Cerberus too. Most of what Therin said is true.

The JP/EU population is on par with NA but like in other servers most of JP don't give a fuck about NAs, so good luck getting stuff done in JP time.

This coming from a dude with 2 Japanese person in his friendlist.

But yeah, for endgame you get like 6 LS tops (and only 3 do every stuff), maybe more if you manage to join a Japanese shell.

BTW, Sundays suck for doing dynamis. in NA times.

You should just move to Bahamut, that's where everyone goes that makes these threads anyways. :rocl:

From my experience:

Unicorn: Mainly NA/JP. Main shells that I remember: Wabo, Pxtzle, Tactics, Venecia, Degenerates (?), Bonkurarz (JP; I heard they just do Salvage now though)

Fairy: Mainly NA/EU. Main shells that I see: ThoseGuys, Cognatus, Eden, LostParadise, notED, FlyMeToTheMoon (JP)

I find Caithsith fairly decent. The little bit I was in endgame there the king camps were done nicely and very respectable. I haven't heard of any shell using bots. And as a whole people are very respectable.

But at the same time I'm currently not involved much w/ the endgame scene ATM, b/c I'd rather get a few jobs up b4 doing it full time again, and don't have the play time for that and round the clock NM camping.

Ramuh is extremely packed due to many people transferring here directly into our endgame, including an endgame linkshell that seems to cater extensively to server transfers. It's a good server with many good people, but it's just too crowded to recommend coming here right now.

I have friends on both Shiva and Kujata, and I hear good things about both servers (I even have a mule on Shiva now so I can keep in touch with some local friends). Also I've heard Carbuncle has plenty of room, and an endgame scene that is promising.

It's actually a lot better since those zone ganking pricks in DRF disbanded.

But yes, you will never have "free reign" of Dynamis zones on Sundays on Cerberus, unless you are TT since they go hella early.

I like Lakshmi a lot. It is not overly packed and there isn't a huge amount of drama like some other servers have altho we do get the occasional loldrama. In general most people seem to get along. Theres only really 6 main NA end game shells who participate in everything and around 3 active JP shells at camps. We are kind of the backwater server tho so it really depends what you are looking for. Quiet and mostly drama free or packed with people at all times of the day and a highly populated Dragon's Aery :D
