Crafting Campaign Ops

Uh I recently tried to do something other than smithing (i'm 33 smithing) and it said i was not proficient enough. Is there a level restriction on what you have to be in a field to be able to do the higher tiers? I'm wondering about this because im Emblem $$$ and I still have Iron Anvil II as my highest.

I know for sure if you don't have any skill in any crafting, it won't allow you access to those. I know a person who has zilch craft skills and doesn't have any of those OP option, whereas I do. Mostly likely there is a minimum craft skill requirement for them. But I'm not sure what level that would be since I have 100 cook.

I'm in the same situation. emblem ||| and only the first 2 of both crafting ops. My highest craft is 40 leather. I have no clue what the reqired craft level for 3rd tier is, but it's got to be at least 41 if people were mentioning having iron anvil III at what was it, emblem |?

I have Smithing 56 and Leather 43. When I got Crystal Fist III it allowed me to do Smithing, but not Leather.

Not that it mattered. The time restriction was so shirt that I failed on each attempt anyway. I had a computer set up 10 feet from my game, open to wiki. When I got the recipe, I ran over, typed in the item, ran back and entered the recipe and failed. My guess is that the time limit is like 30 seconds. I'd think you'd need to be playing in PC with windower open to the recipes in advance to be able to consistently win this.

The recipe requests come from a fixed list. Once that list is determined, you can just print it out and keep it right in front of you.

You can also figure it out on your own if you don't mind failing a few times.

Yeah, for some reason, while wiki had the lists for other crafts, Smithing was blank. However, I noticed that both of the recipes I was given for Crystal Fist III were the same as recipes for I and II -- Dagger and Faceguard. My guess is that the higher ranks retain the recipes form the earlier ranks and possibly add new ones, besides having shorter time and more menu options to pick from. At this point, though, it's probably best to use the crafting list for II as a guide when doing III.

Nah make a cheat sheet when you get to Tier 3s definately. You only get like 3 seconds per ingredient before failing in tier 3. Tier 2 though i never had a problem with alt + tab and ffxiah or somepage. But I do streetsweeper 3 now, it's simple as hell and just as much xp.

I dunno how everyone runs out of time. I do Crystal Fist III regularly, and I never run out of time going to the crafting list on FFXIclopedia (yeah, that's right, I said it).

I just don't hit enter right away when it tells me my item. I find out when I need, then memorize it and quickly punch in the recipe. Easy.

A friend of mine was telling me that there was a glitch with crystal fist 3. He said that sometimes it will ask for a synth that only has 3 ingrediants instead of 4, so it causes you to automatically fail. Has anyone else run into the same problem?

Not a glitch. You have the option of "No more ingredients".

Not only not a glitch, but all 3 of my WW items for Crystal Fist III were 3-item synths, and all 3 tried to make me select a 4th. Sure do love simplicity.

I've also never had a problem with losing out time wise. Then again, WW synths are so repetitive, I've never selected anything other than "Wind Crystal" for the crystal used...

Yea when you get to Tier 3s it always asks for 5 ingredients, and sometimes theres only 2-3. You gotta choose no more ingredients. But there are still problems with it. One of the goldsmithing recipes is wrong, an ingredient is missing from the list. Also when it tells you the item, thats when the time starts. You can't just sit there while memorizing something, I've tried it and I got a times up message before actually getting to the 1st ingredients list. Another thing is sometimes the time limit will run out almost instantly after telling you the item. So yea Crystal Fist 3 is buggy, do it enough and you will see what I mean. That's why I only do Streetsweeper 3 on low lvl jobs now.

I think it likes to glitch sometimes. One time I did the same, but every time since I have had 0 problems finding the points.

I've been asked for Skeleton Keys twice now. Thats 8 items (which is really annoying cause some ingredients are 2x and one is asked early and other late).

Another annoying thing is sometimes you don't know which recipe they are referring to. I lost the first time I did Iron Anvil III because they asked for Brigandine and I started to put in the Gold Sheet recipe when they actually wanted the Darksteel Sheet one. Didn't realize it until the 3rd ingredient.
