You'd be gettin pretty fucked up while tryin to kill a few of them off if you are casting in non-def gear. That and you'd burn too much mp to really recover >_>...

So, investing in a def-setup (if you had a def setup, why would you need the money, maybe the victory), seems less productive to me than getting some mages to manaburn.
And I mentioned CS nuke thinking of RDM/BLM, you can get at least 4 full duration sleepga before they build resistance. But yeah there is the whole RDM/BLU thing going <_<;
You wouldn't need the most amazing def set in the world to duo this with someone, making it a quicker, more fun way of doing this BCNM without having to do 6 runs.Originally Posted by Tajin

Uhhh you dont need 6 people to do this BC :/
I've done it BLM, BLM, RDM and BLM x 3
To answer your question... it is probably possible to duo.
I would say use a combination of this Rdm solo strat (impossible) and Genome's mnk/dnc thing.
Have your rdm go in /blm for sleepga and just hold the mobs while you kill them 1 by 1. You will be able to kill them easy with no support because /dnc is retarded. If your rdm has all the easy to get dmg taken gear, phalanx, taco, etc he should have no problem even when getting smacked around by 5 at a time. He can just sleepga and run to the other side.
If for some reason your rdm dies (maybe after sleep starts getting shitty), you should have at least killed 2-3 of the scorps already, so you will just have 3 beating on you instead of 6, which is probly alot more manageable. Don't forget reraise<_<
Be prepared to lose or get shitty drops.
You could also just have MNK run in and tank everything while the RDM just heals... make sure you are mnk/dnc though
lol he still has no linkshellOriginally Posted by Intense
I've duoed blu/nin + rdm/blm. Blu just zerges down scorps one at a time, rdm sleep/kite them around, not too hard really.
I believe that's what I'm going to do.Originally Posted by fantasticdan
I find it amazing that no one knows whether or not Carby pull works on this thing, though. That said, the more I think about it the more I'm certain that it simply can't work - it would make this run a complete joke.
I'm about 95% certain carby pull wouldn't work here. Most BCs work on a shared hate principle, so once the scorps beat up carby, they would probably come right after you. Even if that wasn't the case, most BC mobs tend to aggro to everything, including JAs (personal experience in solo ENM, hit Hasso, and Fantoccini came running), so when the SMN hits Assault, they'd probably all go running for him. However, I haven't actually tried a carby pull, so I could be wrong.
Koyori from Midgar did solo It as RDM, but she no longer plays(used to be in ParadiseOblivion) but I know, Pix or it didn't happen and all that shit
ODS Is particularly easy to Duo with MNK or NIN or probably SAM(not too sure about the other DD Jobs) and a RDM/BLU with a decent defense set.
RDM goes into supertank mode, you know, defense shit, Physical Damage-, etc. DD Partner picks them off one by one and goes through them as quick as possible(the first 3 drop like flies). I go as MNK and this method takes me anywheres from 9-12 minutes total, first 3 scorps are typically down in about 5 minutes(chakra timer is nearly back up at the end of the 4th), first account I heard of it was a NIN/WHM and a RDM/BLU and it took about 20 minutes. /DNC is also a very good option for them, although not being able to use TP moves could be hurtful to the cause. The biggest benison to RDMs is that the Scorps typically get energy drained or bound following each round of WSs. If their legs become lodged in the rocks run away, if they're unable to attack then just recast buffs and stuff.
After the first 3 are down the RDM can attempt to sleep them and get some breathing room if necessary as the sleeps won't amass -that- much hate that a couple melee rounds won't pull it back. Also allows for converts etc. If the RDM has wyrmal legs they're also very kiteable at this stage, might be advisable to kite them anyways so the TP moves(which are about twice as strong as when they started) are less likely to hit. Typically after 3 mobs have the MNK move into the BC and have the RDM use the hallway to kite using sleep and gravity(later, once there are less mobs and Sleep starts getting resisted), remember you can sometimes stick Sheep Song as well, doesn't last long but it's sometimes nice to get away, not sure if Blastbomb is available but I imagine that could be useful as well..
Other tips I might use is to have the RDM Haste you every other mob on your way in. It will save you time and HP and due to that it will save the RDM more MP than if he had to give you an extra couple cures and himself a couple more cures or an extra round of buffs due to not hasting you.
blaze spike dmg adds up pretty decently also when in full rdm/blu setup, if you can outlast them for the 30 min easily...they would prolly kill themselves off after like 20 min.
Otherwiki fails, 4-5 Thundaga III is perhaps for gimp BLMs.Originally Posted by Ryushii

Ice Spikes help you more than Blaze Spikes will... timely paralyzes are awesome lol
Duoed with as Nin/war with a Rdm/Blm.
Rdm pretty much just sleepga all the scorps and I kill them asap. We only did that once and that first time we played it safe so he ate a taco and I brought HP regen drinks which both helped but not really needed. Ate Coeurl Sub as the Scorpions have pitiful evasion. By the 4th Scorp, sleep doesn't stick long so grav and bind were mainly used to kite the scorps. Sleep II also works at this point as Sleep I's duration is really lol at this point, even then Sleep II is really pathetic by the 3rd cast. The Haste and Phalanx II really helps if the Rdm is free enough to keep those buffs on you.
And also, try to avoid Darksdays. Don't know if it's a placebo effect but they seem nastier on Darksday from my experience.
Is this 3 - 4 Thundaga III by the 2 BLMs ( that means 3 to 4 rounds of casting ) or 3 - 4 Thundaga in total ( so that means 1 round with 2 BLMs make 2 Thundaga, second round makes 4 ). I'm looking to do this with a BLM on my RDM... He cast, I sleep... I wanted to figure out if we would be able to win before they build resistance to sleep.Originally Posted by Fridell
3 Thundaga III's each.
BLM would have to 2hr and use some MP meds.Originally Posted by Zragnarok

maybe he did in earthday?
don't ever do this bc in earth day for low manning. I tried myself a fews time that, during earth day they seem to be more resist on the sleepga.
