    God damn, finally beat Dante 2 after working out a decent strategy. He only hit me twice taking hardly any health as opposed to absolutely destroying me the other 5 attempts.

    Yes. If you do the basic attack combo, then do it again straight after your style meter wont go up at all (infact it'll go down over time since you're wasting time doing it). If you want higher style ratings you need to mix it up by doing different combo's inbetween. With Dante I usually use the forward+B/Circle combo (with Swordmaster, not sure what level it is but you'll know it when you do it). Then launch them into the air (back+attack whilst locked on) and use the aerial swordmaster combo. From there either throw in a regular combo or switch to Gilgamesh and do a few combo's with that, then you can repeat and you'll keep gaining style points. During fights you should always be trying to keep an eye on anything you're not comboing too, dodging is probably the most important part of getting high style ratings.

    Yeah I realized you have to switch it up during the first 2 missions with Nero, and since then I kept a pretty steady high A/low S rating for most of my fights... I haven't hit SSS yet, but I did do SS in a regular battle (then a couple of other times during boss fights.)

    I just have a problem with Dante's system's deepness.

    I mix it up, I have trickster and swordmaster both at max, and I use trickster for closing the gap and general evasion should I have trouble picking a defenseless enemy from a crowd (all the while laying down some Lucifer ownage) then when I pick a target I switch to swordmaster and generally do the things kiarax said. Royal Guard is great, the only style you could need if you can consistantly (and by that, I mean at least 90%) Royal Block everyattack in the game. Or, at least every bosses attacks... Gunslinger was worthless in DMC3, but with Pandora I think it's worth upgrading.

    I think people who haven't played DMC3 will be lost when it comes to playing as Dante. But I'm finding on the fly style switching to be a blast, no longer do I have to choose between trickster for survival and swordmaster for style.

    To help get Nero SSS, do Triple High Roller or Triple Streak. Triple Streak really owns for getting huge style boosts.

    The more I play the easier it gets, it was overwhelming in the beginning though. The Boss fights helped a lot though, since they're longer you have more time to mess around and see what works.

    Dante rapes bosses with Dance Macabre (I forgot what they renamed it to) and Kick 13, especially DT'd. I didn't get a good chance to fight them honestly lol

    Just an FYI, Royal Guard, like in DMC3, is probably the most powerful style in the game (especially on bosses). Just Guard + Royal Release hurts bosses ridiculously. Remember that guarding properly boosts your style meter as well. However, if you aren't practiced with the timing of Royal Guard blocks, bosses will make mincemeat of you very quickly.

    DMD mode is crazy. Difficulty jump is huge compared to DMC3. I guess it's because Devil Hunter and Son of Sparda were fairly easy for the most part whereas in DMC3 even Normal mode was fairly difficult at times. Just beat mission 6 and I've had to start using Vital Stars, almost died to a pack of Frosts too, they react differently on DMD, they'll evade Snatch alot of the time and can dodge out of range midcombo's.

    Yeah, sounds good to me. Started SoS yesterday and made to to mission 8 without much incident.

    Damn Dante 2 was a bitch. I ended up using 2 Holy Waters at the end 'cause I was close to dead. Took me like 8 attempts. Once I got a good strategy down it wasn't too bad, but if he manages to hit you he does a shitload of damage. He hit me with Pandora's final form (where you open the suitcase) and it took away just over half my health. D ranked ftw!

    Don't press forward when you grab the orbs. Nero will pull himself to each platform on his own. It took me a few tries to realize how easy it really is.

    You should be spamming Snatch and holding down lock on at that bit. If you delay your grabs you'll end up flying upwards into the spikes. Just be patient on the moving ones, you don't need to rush them, wait for them to line up/appear and then just hold down lock on and mash grab.

    lol, it took me like 10 tries to get it right.... damn torture room, you have to go through them insane fast because if you fall even a little you have to latch on to these stupid things from the bottom, which shoves you straight up at the spikes.

    I'd always fall on the last one, I thought the last one inside was the item, so I'd propel myself into it but always failed... damn >< But, got a "D" grade >_>;

    Edit: Ah, got an "A."

    How the hell do you get over that one wall on like Mission 11 or 12 I think.. two blue things with the red orbs on top.

    Snatch your way towards the wall and then wall jump over it. Make sure you don't air hike before you grab them or else you wont be able to wall jump.
