Really? It seemed pretty obvious to me..
I wonder if they realized that the Pandora + Gunslinger flying combo breaks a good portion of the secret missions lol...
Backtracking with Dante through the forest was fucking annoying... took me like 5 tries to realize that I had to go WEST after the initial East in the lost forest section.
Uh, just look at the shadow of the pillar, you're supposed to go the opposite way to that. The signs (if you bothered to read them) tell you that.Originally Posted by Exoduso
I did read them, but I kept looking off in the distance and looking for the clues rather than the actual statue's shadow.. >.< Thanks for clearing that up, I knew it didn't make sense since they looked identical. >.<
I just look at my own shadow.
Same, it was really easy to just keep running around the circle until your shadow was behind you.
My last ability costs 100k~.About to fight Berial with Dante now, mission 16.

Wow, you really farmed like crazy lolOriginally Posted by Kiarax

It was DMD. Finished it now, beat Bloody Palace using Super Dante too. And I didn't farm Souls or Orbs at all outside of just going through the missions. I'm at 48k/101k to get my last abilities for both Dante and Nero now. Just beat mission 1 on Hell or Hell. Not sure if I'm gonna attempt to finish it or not at the moment heh.
Any of you fellas has it for the PS3 and would like to compare the scores to the awesomeness that is I?Haven't finished Nero's leg due to tiem constraints, btw.
Yeah, the riddle was saying to follow the light. I like doing quick puzzles like that than pseudo platforming games.Originally Posted by Blackice
Yeah I know it seems obvious, but for some reason I was reading it as follow the light/shadow in the distance, and they all looked the freaking same... and when you're so focused on looking for it there, you neglect looking at the small thigns (ie your own shadow.. >.>), so I got confused.Originally Posted by Deejay
I did play on Human mode (DMC noobie, didn't want to get raped going into the game my first time heh) but my scores got relatively high the further I progressed in the game (both in terms of the mission scores and the actual quality of my style meter scores..) I started Devil Hunter mode yesterday after finishing Human and it seemed to be just as easy (first 2-3 missions, anyways..) so I guess i'm doing better at least.I constantly get anywhere from A's to SS's during battles with Nero, and pretty much mastered the IRing.
How many difficulty settings are there in the game? and what is that palace thing everyone's talking about... do you only get to unlock it after beating the game under a certain mode or something?
Human
Devil Hunter
Son of Sparda
Dante Must Die
Heaven or Hell
Hell or Hell
Human - Easy (Unlocked at the start)Originally Posted by Exoduso

Son of Sparda - Hard (Beat Devil Hunter)
Dante Must Die - Insane (Beat Son of Sparda)
Heaven or Hell - Both you and enemies (including bosses) die in one hit. (Beat Son of Sparda)
Hell or Hell - Enemies are around the Son of Sparda difficulty, but you die in one hit. (Beat Dante Must Die)
Bloody Palace is a 100 floor endurance fest where you are timed and cannot use items. Unlock it by beating Devil Hunter. You also refight a boss every 10 floors hehe
The reason Devil Hunter seems so easy now is because of your carried over upgrades
Beating Dante Must Die unlocks Super Dante and Super Nero (infinite DT like the other games, I believe). You can use them anywhere, even the Bloody Palace, however your score is reduced by 80% for doing so.
Yeah most likely, but I wasn't that good at comboing at all in the beginning and i've pretty much got the style meter figured out now.
I got the SSS rating on such an awesome battle... I was up to an S, and was fighting like 4 or 5 (can't really remember) armors just before finishing mission 19 (in that retarded puzzle where you fight a boss every time you go through the purple door as you ascend the stairs)... caught one of them with the devil bringer and they just all happened to be at the same place together as I shoved him straight at the whole bunch of them and the explosion killed them all... it was a pretty crazy moment lol.
I still can't grasp the deepness of Dante's battle system though, there are so many moves I just lose my place when I try to combine the different styles in the same combo. I am assuming this is mostly because I haven't played DMC3 and don't completely understand how the styles work, but still.. When they added Pandora's box and the Gilgamesh/Lucifer, it only added to the confusion lol, especially since you go back to Nero so soon.
yea dante is a lot more fun to play. just gets confusing with 4 (5) styles, 3 weps, 3 guns.. and one gun has 5 forms...
Dante is a fucking beast if you can handle him. Between Trickster for closing gaps and evading, to Gunslinger Pandora for long range style points to Swordmaster for uber style points and Royal Guard for pretty much everything you have one complex character.
Assuming you can handle himSometimes I get the styles direction mixed up and end up in Gunslinger mode when I meant to do Trickster. Gah...
Slight correction. Bosses are every 20 floors. 80+ floors have enemies in DMD form, I can only assume the lower floors (say, 60-80) have ramped up difficulty as you go along too, but it's kinda hard to tell outside of the DMD ones. There's a 101st floor aswell with another boss.Originally Posted by MisterBob
They nerfed the Supers slightly, now you don't recover your health when in DT if you're using a super, small price to pay for the absolute rape you cause with constant DT. Also, in Heaven or Hell and Hell or Hell you now get 3 extra lifes. You have 3 small yellow orbs at the top of the screen, when you die you're instantly revived on the spot, if you lose all 3 you get game over (or you can use one of your own yellow orbs for another 3 lives, effectively giving you up to 9 chances with 3 yellow orbs).
