do you get anything for completing bloody palace?
do you get anything for completing bloody palace?
Nothing but an hour and a half of awesome.![]()
Hey I just got this game, yesterday, as a v-day present, my wife actually wanted me to wait till v-day!
I just beat Credo in his angel form using nero, have not gotten to dante leg yet.
was just wondering If it was smart to totally skip human mode and go right for Devil hunter?
Currently I have the move that causes you to burst foward and slash your enemy( forgot name) maxed out, maxed out devil arm grab, (buster?) and one charged shot for gun.
Is there anything else I should have gotten?
If I refund will I lose soulds?
Is Air hike even usefull?
I have yet to find any time when I was like damn i wish I could get a second jump. Between arm and wall jumps I was just wondering how good it is.
Also If I was to go back and beat human mode would my upgrades from DHunter carry over to it?
The only level I got less then an A rank was the stupid spike ceiling/torture chamber level, b rank.![]()
I usually just play through then go back and shoot for S ranks.
But is there some bonus for getting S ranks in like Human mode or something, that will carry over to higher modes?
Yes souls will be refunded if you "unlearn" a move. There's no real "needed" moves, just play about with everything until you find stuff you like. Air Hike, I can't live without it, I hate not having it but it's not really needed, especially if you've never had it before. It's great for dodging attacks, especially on bosses (you can pretty much stay airborne 100% of the time on a few of the bosses using Air Hike and enemy jumps). You may find Human form worth playing through first (or after Devil Hunter if you're having trouble with higher difficulties) to get to grips with the game a bit better but as a DMC veteran I've skipped it so far, I'll go back and finish it after I clear the harder difficulties for completion sake.
I'm a DMC newb and playing with Dante is weird. After literally being able to spoon feed myself monsters with Nero it's kind of weird having to hone in on all the monsters w/o dangly arm. How do you break the distance with Dante while keeping up his combos? I leveled up every skill except gunslinger to the 2nd tier, and picked up the extra run and I think one extra move. The shotgun is pretty bad ass though, and the trickster moves are sweet.
Try to avoid using Stinger (his forward+attack whilst locked on) unless the enemies infront of a wall, it's huge knockback isn't worth it imo. There's a move with Trickster that'll warp you to above the enemy, but I'm not sure what level it is. Other then them there's no real fast way to close the distance in comparison to Nero where you just yank them towards you. You shouldn't be losing much style whilst you run towards them though, if you are just throw in some gunplay to keep it up a little.
Avoid using moves that will push your enemy far away early in the combo. Roll towards them, use trickster, keep your enemies in front of you. If you use a move that pushes it away, pick the nearest one to keep the combo alive, etc. To prevent enemies from hitting you while you fight, learn to use trickster and use its invincible frames to avoid attacks.Originally Posted by Deejay
Started doing DMD mode, Berial was pretty damn easy, mainly due to MAX-Act/Exceed. The fact that he DTs at the end is pretty nifty though.
Berial barely touched me too, iirc he only hit me once, demo was too much practice. If you're used to dodging everything you should have no problems on DMD either. Dante was the only thing that managed to annoy me and it was just because my cheap tactics of spamming Snatch -> Buster in mid air didn't seem to be working. Once I worked out another decent way to approach it he was pretty easy.
Up until now I'd been doing what I thought was pretty good with scoring and combat...then I noticed the leaderboards and people racking up nearly twice as many points as me. A few thoughts and ideas came to mind, but I wasn't sure but:
1. Does Exceed or IRing boost stylish points significantly?
2. Does Max-Act increase your points even further with each successive combo?
3. I don't have Blue Rose's Charged Shots 2 or 3, maybe someone who has it could give me an idea as to its worth and combo value? I know Charged Shot 1 can link pretty well and add to your style points really easily.
Aside from getting every single orb from every level and making it with an S rank in time, I can't think of anything else that would increase your points...
Hell, looking back at my scores, I even thought my 5k in Human Mission 1 was goodthen I see nearly 11k
Taking no damage during the level gives you a fairly big multiplier, not sure on the number though. Other then that just need to go faster, get more orbs and get more style points.![]()
I'm working on Hell or Hell now, just beat mission 3 and it's not too bad. You get 4 lives. I said earlier you might be able to use your own yellow orbs for more respawns but you can't, soon as you use up the "free" yellow orbs you get you get game over.
make sure you max out trickster. sky star/dash/air trick solves the distance problem, so does dance macabre in swordmaster since the first move is a dash. also, once you can use hand-to-hand, use killer bee (idk what its called in dmc4 but thats what its called in dmc3).. that jump kick thingOriginally Posted by Deejay
dont bother leveling up royal guard unless you actually want to put the effort to master it... which is a LOT of effort
Stuck on a really annoying part in Mission 3.
The torture chamber room where you have to teleport from ledge to ledge with spikes on the ceiling and if you fall you have to beat all the stupidly easily enemies again.
I keep hitting the fucking ceiling and falling back down and it's getting really annoying.
Any tips?

I'm surprised the Xbox version outsold the PS3 in Europe and America. Hopefully this'll bring more Japanese developers to the 360.
Sorry, any idea where at?Originally Posted by MisterBob
360 Version outdid the PS3 in EU because it was £10 cheaper lol. Though in NA I would expect it, since more people own a 360 than PS3. However, in all I don't care which one did better. All I want is a DMC5.Originally Posted by Kiarax
lol in your dreams. Look at what it sold in Japan on 360. MS has all but given up over there.Hopefully this'll bring more Japanese developers to the 360.
Just hold down lock on and spam Snatch button. You need to grab the next Grim Grip as soon as you target it so you don't lose any momentum. As soon as you start falling down a bit you'll be pulled upwards on the next grip into the spikes. Wait patiently for the ones that dissapear/appear and move. You don't need to rush, wait for them to line up then spam Snatch when they are.Originally Posted by Po
Edit:
It was glaringly obvious it was gonna sell alot less on the 360 in Japan. But an extra 356,345 copies shifted on the 360 in America and Europe is alot. Going multiplatform was a very smart move on Capcoms part and hopefully other developers will follow suit and go multiplatform. It can't hurt to hope(dream).Originally Posted by Po

Also, just wait for them to align before jumping, be patient... as soon as all of them are lit up/aligned perfectly for you, hold RB and tap O to get to the next ledge, then WAIT again until the next ones all show up. Hell, even let them move/disappear and then realign/reappear before advancing just to make sure. Very easy puzzle if you just wait a few seconds on each ledge.Originally Posted by Exoduso
